Thanks for vid i about to install battery cover bag on a 2010 and this explained how to remove the cover. How come you pulled the seat cant you do this with the seat on? Good vid
Great question. I'm OCD about keeping my bike clean. So, when I di into an area, I get a coat of wax on the frame in that area. The WG is HDs very best bike ever imo. Eric.
@KrakensGarageandAdventures I agree they are super nice design and the color on yours is awesome I hadn't seen that before. I got vivid black with 3,800 miles a few weeks ago. Putting bad&g brand battery cover bag on where the wide glide trim piece is on battery cover
FYI: I stopped using after market batteries because they frequently would not fit inside the battery box...! Yes, I did make sure to purchase the correct battery size for my model (1995 Dyna Wide Glide), but the battery cases were just a little too large for the battery cover. Whereas, the HD battery ALWAYS slips right in! I bought a new battery a few weeks ago (Fall 2024) and the dealer told me that thay no longer recycle battery cores, so it is up to me to find a place to recycle or dispose of it.....
Don, you are a good man and I appreciate you trying to purchase USA let alone locally. The battery explosion was just a gag as my tutorials are boring. lol Thanks for the kind words and ride swift, ride safe. Eric
Without knowing your model and year of your bike. With the fob in range, turn on the ignition, wait for the alarm to disable itself and then pull the maxi fuse. I referenced this in the video but my '14 WG doesn't have it. You can now disconnect the negative lead, though I'm not sure if it's still necessary with the maxi fuse out, I'm going to check that with the dealer the next time I'm in there. The owners manual also says that the dealer can put the alarm in a 'Service Mode' if you don't want to leave the fob with them when you leave. Let me know if this helps.
Help! I am changing my battery out on a 2014 Superglide. I DID NOT buy a HD battery but obviously similar. The issue I am having is the screws that I took out that hold in the battery now will not go back in and they spin they are not stripped, but they will not hold either side. The battery company gave me screws as well and they do not fit. This is the first time I’ve ever change the battery on my motorcycle, it is showroom condition and only has 800 miles because I ripped my complete arm off and I can’t ride it. What am I doing wrong??
Nice vid great looking bike , i had the 85 /6 fxwg 1340 kick and electric . when i see one go by now i kick myself because it was a great bike ohh well gone now , WOW Don King the boxing promoter would have been very envious of the hair do you ended up with showing what can go wrong when fitting a battery or removing one ZAP! @(*Y*)@ , thanks for fun and informative video share . Cheers... The blue pixie dancing music will be going around in my all night lol
Ha! I throw in a gag every now and then, just having a bit of fun. I hope you find another FXWG some day. In a sea of baggers I seem to be the only one going old school! Eric

I had no idea they stopped recycling them? I have always gone with OEM or YUASA batteries. They all have served me well for years.
You know who loves you? I DO!!!
Well, I'm sure glad someone does! Thanks for stopping by.
Do you have a video on changing out the BCM ? I have this exact bike and need to know how
I'm sorry, I do not. I've never had a need to. Good luck.
I also buy local and American made when possible. Good Hand tools are tough to find labeled as made in the USA. The battery explosion made me jump😆
