From far 1976 to now, 2024, almost 50 years have passed, and this weight has been exceeded only 12 kg since then!
    Phenomenal!

You think absolutely right! Alekseev during 1976 easily pushed 265 kg. But due to the fact that he had short fingers, he could not realize himself in the snatch. Otherwise jerk 270 and jerk 210 would have been the norm for him even then. In a word. this is the god of weightlifting. Sorry for my bad english.

    His 255kg c&j done on 2nd attempt didn't take a 3rd.
He was from Olympic press period till 1972 press was dropped wasn't world best in snatch except in early period as press& c& j were his lifts. He delayed doing his best by just increasing records by tiny amounts when he was quite capable of reaching levels of today(1014lb Olympic back squat 1971)
Sadly heart problems & sickness after retirement 1980.

If you look at the lift there was no double knee bend just a straight pull. Both the clean and the jerk were done easily but for some reason he keep staggering around with it.
