And they have to do it to stop the anguish the author puts them all through, even if the death of the author means their time and story will be paused eternally, never completing. Or it's for a selfish reason, like they realize the world will end if they kill God but they're never going to win in the story, so they have to end the author to win. They frame it in their head as a good thing for society, but in their subconscious it's for an ulterior motive. I love this concept so much omg
Interesting idea but what about the protagonist ? Is he just some partner ,puppet or vessel the author uses to influence the world or he doesnt know that the actions he does arent really his choice but rather his creator so he has no say on what he does other than watch the story unfold

I made a character like this. She always mentions someone called " the Author" and "the readers". But no one believes her because they don't believe her. Little did they know she's telling the truth. And there's a random person controlling their lives.
Ok hear me out, so what if there was a book that started off like most others, but with a twist.. the villan/enemy would question why he could never win. Halfway through the book he learns about "~The Author~" and he spends time trying to figure out how to find this person. The whole time the author is making the villan/enemy's life a living hell. Eventually he finds the way out of the book. The book turns into a picture/graphic novel type-book and shows the enemy taking revenge on the author. (I'll continue/elaborate later)
Playing AM's speech playing while talking about GOD is crazy. Also the part was he was yelling "I AM" has got to be the most crazed, hate filled few words I have ever heard. The author was very good at being a VA on top of his top noch story writing
This would be such a cool story idea. Start off with a established hero and villain doing basic heroic or villainous acts, but as it progresses they wonder how they’re bested each time, and the hero becomes more twisted in their ways knowing that a higher power (not necessarily the author) has their back, and it is now up to the villain to finally put a stop to this.
