Well...I thought "my" style was called "I'll get around to it when I can afford it!" when it comes to the plaster. Now I know it's "Wabi-Sabi." And the creaky fridge door will prevent secret midnight snacking! LOL! ♥
Hi Nick, well this is something. 🤔 On one hand I get the idea of it and there’s something appealing about it but on the other hand if I lived there everyday I’d feel depressed. I’d keep looking at it like I needed to fix it up and I wouldn’t feel at peace there. Did this style come about because people were too lazy to fix it or out of money so they decided to say it’s an art? 🤔 I really like that you showed us this . I never heard of this way of decorating not decorating. There were things I liked but I definitely couldn’t live like this. Fun to see Thankyou so much. You make everything so speacial.Have a beautiful blessed day 🙏🕊❤️
I do love the location of this apartment. Who wouldn't want to live next door to a Cafe?! I'd be there every day sitting outside with my coffee or wine! Yum
I just LOVE IT! It is like living in an art installation! I have to confess that I have not been watching as I used to bcs I could not endure one more perfect country house with a pool. I would like to meet this architect! Italy, ripe with history, ingenuity, beauty, and craftsmanship. Thanks Nick, I havent enjoyed a video as much since you showed us that fabulous place in Certona a year ago. Long live the Creative Mind❤️
At first I thought, “uh okay”, but then as the tour went on, I suddenly went “this is amazing!” And you’re right, it does take a lot of effort to get this kind of effect. Bravo to the architect! Thanks for showing us what is possible. Regards from Melbourne, Australia.
A great definition of Wabi Sabi..... Love the color palette and the hanging chandeliers ... the variation of the walls bring art to a new level... the fur, the boar and the furniture would have to go... Thanks so much Nick!
As a new subscriber who has been watching Nick's work on RUclips for a few months, I wish to thank you Nick. I look forward each week to the amazing diverse homes that you feature. Italy is where I will be retiring late next year and you are really helping me educate myself.
Adore this interesting abode! The architect's eclectic design choices come together to create a very unique, stylish, even cosy, space...thanks for the tour, Nick- variety is the spice of life and your channel thankfully offers this :)
Buongiorno Nick. I saw the Kartell shop and the café and reached for my cheque book. Then, I saw the sensual handrail in the stairwell and began writing it out. But then ... oh dear ... I saw the hairy door and the shabby chic interior and quietly slipped it back in my desk. Nevertheless, it was fun to see an alternative to beautiful beams, fiesta fireplaces and gleaming terra cotta. Hombre, this visit was like a 'blind date'. You enter the evening full of hope, but the 'first impression' is challenging, the nose rings harness your gaze, you stumble in the pronoun minefield ... you get the drift. Ah well, the taxi home is a saviour 🤣. Looking forward to next week. Arriba!
Part of me really loves this place! Really neat! I appreciate the imagination and work done here. A much younger me would have LOVED living here. That being said, I prefer the traditional homes… more specifically, the country homes.
Nicely done as always. Happy Saturday Nick. Very cool property. The right person for this is out there. Arezzo is a great place also. This one is truly cutting edge.
Having watched the video again I do agree that this is an "interesting" property. It also made me stop and reflect on how signs of poverty have been elevated to designer chic. Ripped jeans, shabby chic, and cucina povera have all become status symbols, whereas they were once just an indication that you couldn't afford anything better. How strange life can be!
It’s an interesting one Nick. Even though your listings vary so much on location, style and price point, the constant amidst them all is your wonderful, even child like enthusiasm (as Fe Fe says, ‘never lose your child like enthusiasm’) for each one. I adore you and your channel!
WoW! I love this apartment. I am a faux finish artist living in the US, and people pay thousands of dollars for finishes that are in this apartment! And it is really hard to recreate this. I must say that I'm willing to bet it was a man that designed the layout of the kitchen because 🤪 !! Don't get me wrong the appliances are beautiful, but ... creating in that kitten is going to be challenging. (just my personal point of view, as a woman!) Other than that, I LOVE this space, it's dripping with Italian style! Now I must go purchase my lotto cards! Thank you Nick.
My dream apartment. 100%. So clever & sophisticated. Artfully done but still warm & inviting, blending different eras & styles. I would not change a thing. Not one. And what a price! Thank you, Nick, for appreciating light & beauty!
Very interesting apartment. The light fixtures are the bomb. The walls look awesome. The black paint makes it all stand out. Clearly history puffing out it's chest to say LOOK at me!
I am not a fan of Wabi Sabi. But it all can be redone. Nothing is forever, especially the fur on the front door. But I am glad you showed it. It deserves your love of video just like any other property in Italy. Thanks for taking then time to give equal treatment!
I so appreciate your comment Steven. I was concerned the apartment might be controversial but you’re so right, it is important to see a cross section of what’s on the market and also, what one person hates another can love. Thank you so much for your support!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗💚💚💚💚
If I were not such a pauper, I would buy it in a heartbeat and never leave it till I die. I hope whoever does buy it leaves it as is and does not change a thing. This place should be listed as a piece of modern art.
Wonderful, unique apartment, Nick! As an artist, I love everything about it, especially the chandeliers, fur doors, the walls, and illustrated bathroom! For me, though, I would paint the radiators & ditch the astroturf on the terrace. Great find, thanks so much as always, Nick!💖
I love the quirkiness of this place, and the raw sense of character, exuding from the pores of this ancient structure. The "wabi-sabi" style is very appealing, providing a lovely lived-in ambiance, that is timeless in many ways. The juxtaposition of finished elements, along with the exposed imperfections, gives this property an amazing sense of a kind of rough magic aesthetic. Another lovely find, and thanks so much for sharing these views.
Hi, I'm both the owner and the architect who renovated the apartment you watched on Nick's channel. I'm very excited that you liked my concept. The apartment was a banal house from the 80s, very anonymous and impersonal and I wanted to create something different that was almost impossible to describe in words. It is an experimental concept between Wabi Sabi and Rough Luxe with some aspects that I have included that are very extreme and therefore it can make you fall in love or it can horrify you. I tried to provoke people's minds and make them understand that architecture and art can be very close but to understand these things you need people who have an open mind. The floors and ceilings are made of charcoal and serve to make the "suspended walls" appear and highlight their history. On the walls you can read the history of the construction of the palace in the 1600s, of the bombings that the palace suffered in 1944s and of its renovation in the 1950s and 1980s. From your message I understood that you have an open mind. Thanks for your comment. Arch. Michele Liberatori m.liberatori@architetturaeinnovazione.it
Nick, I am completely speechless, dumbfounded, and bamboozled! OK, maybe not completely speechless😂 Watching your videos is like getting a university degree in architecture, but much more interesting!
Very much a stylish bachelor pad... perfect for a chap looking for somewhere to entertain friends. Great location, great party house. Not for me I'm afraid but can appreciate the effort and finish... definitely has the "architect's touch". Someone will love it. Very different from your usual property Nick, but variety is the spice of life! Thank you.
This might be one of the most impressive interior expressions I've ever seen. As an artist, this would give me NOTHING BUT inspiration. AMAZING!!!! And in the MIDDLE OF THE TOWN...... WITH A COFFEE SHOP NEXT DOOR!!!! Can it get any more PERFECT? WOW Nick. 😮
I really wasn't prepared to like this one but the way you explained all the details has brought me back to rewatch four times! I see the artistic design throughout and love how it draws you in! My favorite part is the upstairs area! The bed, bathroom and snug are so cozy....(except for the boars head!) The rooftop is so fun! Thank you for all your hard work and your wonderful channel!
Absolutely love everything about it..I'm in Arezzo now , for the antique market ..wow wow wow ! And what a fabulous city .. super cool vibes ! Another fabulous property ! ❤
Kind of love: the preserved old walls; totally hate: the black ones, and the black floors as well. Love the location, the terrace...don't so much love the price! Thanks, Nick!
It most definitely is unique. Nicely done and definitely done with a specific owner/buyer in mind. However I most say that when I was renovating my house - I did want to redo the walls in the rough uneven plaster style. I always reminded me of the old traditional homes in simpler times.
I am in the “love this so much!” camp! My husband not so much love coming from that direction. 😂 I wouldn’t be so impressed if the plaster walls were not all stripped back and then sealed so that there will be no falling bits. The only thing I think might be tricky would be the dust and footmarks showing on the black floors. I did ask out loud three times when you were showing us the kitchen - but where is the fridge? The fridge Nick? Nick where is the fridge!? When you finally showed us, we both had a good laugh over here on the southwest coast of Canada. Have a great week and always a pleasure to see what you have to show Nick.
Good morning Nick! I went from “hate to love” on this place….started thinking, great location, great space and I would change this and that and I must admit by the end I wouldn’t change a thing. Every week you give us a mix, a change, a different location and make us think …”hmmmmm” thanks Nick! Well done, again!
Good Morning Nick. Bowing down back at you. Another great one take property. You find the best. And with history. Love the architecture of this apartment. Very interesting!! Love the lighting in the place. Can't wait till next Saturday. You take care. Hope you are able to work on your property. Need an update. Thanks again Nick.
I LOVE this home. It is stunning. The location is wonderful, with a beautiful town right outside the door. Drawings in the bathroom, gorgeous kitchen, chic finishes..it's a dream. Nick, I've been looking at homes here in Washington state US , and am so discouraged by the truly dumpy, white trash places that are for sale for the same price as this civilized, elegant apartment. Whoever gets this will be lucky.
None of your tours ever disappoint as there is always something interesting to see or learn, but I must admit that this was not at all to my personal aesthetic. I seem to have difficulty distinguishing between this deliberately chosen decorating style, and a poorly maintained property in desperate need of repair. Some years ago, I inherited a rural property, including the original 125+ year old farm house, which had sadly been allowed to deteriorate to a condemnable condition. This tour very much reminded me of that place which had crumbling paint & plaster and a pervasive presence of mould and decay. Nevertheless, kudos as always for offering us a wide variety of styles, sizes, ages, configurations, prices, and locations of Italian homes. The more one sees, the more one can learn about their personal tastes and preferences which is surely a good thing.
Living in Texas where the panhandle is burning and yet covered in snow, I relate to this space in an almost spiritual way. Thanks so much Nick for sharing a different incorporation of the past with us. The idyllic pastoral spaces and the recovery space for the rape of the sabine women all help us be more alive 🙏🏼🦋😎
Fascination, Nick, is my feeling. I’m much too oldfashioned for this kind of ”ruin-romantic” style, but, with that said, the owner has really did a good work shaping this apartment! For those who like this it must be wonderful, I, myself, did love the shutters!
Love Wabi-Sabi, Love low hanging lighting (am doing that in a reno at the moment) , love the funky art and bathroom walls! Love the rooftop terrrace...awesome city living apartment with a lot of soul. Grazie Nick...I feel we are kindred spirits! Have a great weekend, Marisa 🥰🤗💚
Hi Nick, You're right again about the finish. You can see how much effort and consideration has gone into this aesthetic. You're also right on the other note; it's not for everyone (including me)! I do like the main floor bathroom, and the attic snug is good as is, and the terrace would be great to dine and entertain. A quick coat of paint on the walls and my own furniture for the rest, though, and it's a completely different space! Thanks, Neil
🥓🍳🍞🧈🍽 - Yes, youve confirmed it now Nick, I have lived this way for 42 years. I called it perpetual decorating restoration. 😂 Now hubby Tom thinks its a thing and it was his intention all this time 😵💫. This house is 85% us, but I draw the line at the furry doors. Everything else is pretty perfect. Thanks so much Nick. Have a great week. ❤️Macchi🐕❤️🌞❤️🇦🇺🦘
Hi Nick, thanks but no thanks to this one. It is very different. When you said you like rust I said me too 😃and I remembered a picture I saw in a magazine. It was of an old truck put out to die in the garden and a sign in front of it read, "RUST IN PEACE". so funny. Ciao 😂 💖😊
You had me at furry front door…..😍 JUST KIDDING. It does have good bones and the chandeliers are lovely. Rooftop, Ac and double glazed windows is amazing to have especially there. I could totally work with this apartment and….a few cans of paint. 😂
The minute I bought that place I would begin painting scenery based on Pompeian frescoes up the walls of that staircase and vestibule, retaining the aged appearance! I am an artist so I could make it look almost original to Pompeii. That place is absolutely divine, and it has that Italian cafe next door!
Nick, thanks for sharing this wildly artistic Tuscan gem. Its appeal to those who love to live in wholly creative spaces will be strong. I thoroughly enjoyed following you through the artfully designed, almost museum-styled rooms of this apartment, where one could imagine living. And given the artistry, space and location of this place, the price sounds spot on. As soon as the right buyer sees this outside-of-the-box creation, it will be purchased. 😎
Amazing fantastic stylish individual interior that’s as rare as hens teeth as they say reminds me totally of the Hungarian Ruin bars in Budapest that we live nearby too .. Fantastic
Wow. How creative. Wabi sabi. I’ve never encountered this before and I love it actually. I’m someone who likes rust, enjoys seeing the patina of decades. Not everyplace could pull this off but it works very well here and I enjoy most of the furnishings. Not so much the kitchen perhaps or the nudes in the bathroom. I love that you showed this one and I got to see it. I believe I love this more than perfection and shiny new. I am missing your dog so much please bring him along soon?
Hi Nick , hi everyone watching ... This one is not for me .... I do like parts like the shutters and furniture , but the furry doors and boar head , no thanks ... Nice to have the tour anyway ....have a nice weekend all !
What fun reading all the comments on this apartment. This apartment brought out all sorts of intense proclamations. All very entertaining. I rather think the architect would enjoy the impact. I think most of us shuddered at the furry front door, unwilling to pet an unknown unfamiliar shaggy monster. And the huge boars head jutting from the wall was a bit frightening. But, my original comment before reading all the others here was overall positive and really enjoyed seeing this style. What fun Nick showing us everything. Always be brave, don’t worry about controversial aesthetics. Each to their own, right? Heavens it’s just decoration and all can be changed.
OMG! I love it! Love the exposed walls, love the cools chandeliers, love the kitchen. My next Q was, where is the fridge, but you answered that... The bathroom with the drawings, so cool! I want to see the more risqué pics.
TEXTURES, love all the textures and chandeliers. However, would remove all the furniture from the two downstairs bedrooms, but keep the chandeliers. And there is also a garage nearby, available at extra cost. Thanks for this tour Nick, great to see more variety in styles.
Yes I find the properties I don’t like very useful to pinpoint what I do like - for me I wanted to weep at the destruction of the floors and the ceilings - it felt forced and self-conscious - I prefer more traditional and warm.
What's that expression - "He had a face only his mother could love"? I feel the same about this apartment.
Well...I thought "my" style was called "I'll get around to it when I can afford it!" when it comes to the plaster. Now I know it's "Wabi-Sabi." And the creaky fridge door will prevent secret midnight snacking! LOL! ♥
😂😂😂😂 love your comment 😀 thank you 🙏🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Hahaha I definitely have some wabi sabi elements in my little apartment too!
@@mradventurer8104 does mold in the corner count as wabi sabi?
Hi Nick, well this is something. 🤔 On one hand I get the idea of it and there’s something appealing about it but on the other hand if I lived there everyday I’d feel depressed. I’d keep looking at it like I needed to fix it up and I wouldn’t feel at peace there. Love this. The truth of history alongside the elegance of the present.
I do love the location of this apartment. Who wouldn't want to live next door to a Cafe?! I'd be there every day sitting outside with my coffee or wine! Yum
Me too! 😀🤗🤗🤗🤗 thank you
I just LOVE IT! It is like living in an art installation! I have to confess that I have not been watching as I used to bcs I could not endure one more perfect country house with a pool. Dearest Lutz and Jens, thank you so much for your comment and for watching. I so appreciate it. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I love a good poured concrete floor, but is no one else screaming on the inside that they'll never know what gorgeous original tile lies underneath? 😂
LOVE it.....this apartment is a piece of art. You are so lucky to get to hang out and film these unique spaces!
Whoa! Hate the doors and that sleek kitchen. Love the black ceilings and floors and those bathrooms. Absolutely ADORE the fabulous walls! ❤
A great definition of Wabi Sabi..... Love the color palette and the hanging chandeliers ... the variation of the walls bring art to a new level... the fur, the boar and the furniture would have to go... Thanks so much Nick!
I’ve just renamed my sadly neglected home, wabi sabi. You just gave it a PR upgrade 🤣
Unique apartment, Nick, I love it.
I totally agree! Thank you so much! ☺️ I really appreciate your support!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Only a very loving heart could find the beauty you see.

Great comment James. Made me laugh. Thanks. 🙏
Totally fascinating & arty property Nick! Superb decor .... Thank you so much!
Part of me really loves this place! Really neat! I appreciate the imagination and work done here. A much younger me would have LOVED living here.

LOVE IT! So elegant and chic! Thanks, Nick!
I think, again, you have surpassed yourself. This apartment is magically, and, insanely beautiful.
Nicely done as always. Happy Saturday Nick. Very cool property. The right person for this is out there. Arezzo is a great place also. This one is truly cutting edge.
Great comment. Thank you!!!🙏 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Stylish and fun. I love it! Great place for soirées!!!

I love it ! YES 🙌🏽 life is about being brave 🎉
So true!!! It’s important to appreciate everything in its way. Thanks for watching 🤗🤗🤗💚💚💚
Thanks Nick wondeful !

Pleasure. 🙏🤗❤️
This apartment is like an unfinished abstract painting.
Love you and our time together is always a treat. However this apartment leaves me without a kind word. Bless that “designer”. 😂
It’s been very skilfully done. It’s not a look for everyone. Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Right up my alley
It’s an ethereal raw… statement.. the chandeliers on the raw walls.. wow.. it’s sensual.. I’d move right in and be super chic happy!
Very interesting apartment. The light fixtures are the bomb. The walls look awesome. The black paint makes it all stand out. Clearly history puffing out it's chest to say LOOK at me!

Wabi Sabi must be Italian for "SHABBY"

Yet another great piece of history!
WOW ! I love the wildness of this apartment … Nick no trees to hug today but rust and stairs …. I get you 👏👩🎨😂🌈
It’s giving brothel in a war zone chic… it makes me feel
Sad and trapped in a dystopian nightmare…
Wonderful, unique apartment, Nick! As an artist, I love everything about it, especially the chandeliers, fur doors, the walls, and illustrated bathroom! For me, though, I would paint the radiators & ditch the astroturf on the terrace. Great find, thanks so much as always, Nick!💖
From artist to artist... agree about the radiators, astroturf can be fun, though, when used in the right setting.
don't mind the rusty radiators, but plastic lawn not mycup of tea

Yep Art teacher here-obsessed! This is truly exceptional
Thanks Sandy. ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🙏😊
Hi Nick, it reminds me of a loft I rented in New York over 20 years ago… brilliant what a find.
Oh wow. Yes it is a bit like that! Thanks for watching 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Oh my goodness - that fur coated front door is the stuff of nightmares.
Can see the appeal - the apartment looks like it’s fallen out of a VanGogh or something. Very niche though so good luck to the sellers. 🍀
Good Morning Nick. Bowing down back at you. Another great one take property. You find the best. And with history. Love the architecture of this apartment. Very interesting!! Thanks Donna ❤️ Update coming soon. 🤗🙏😊 N.
❤️❤️❤️😊🙏🤗
I love it! Omg it screams raw, real, with hints of brutalist and industrial post Atomic (like really post atomic). I lovvvvve it Nick!
Thank you 🙏😀🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
None of your tours ever disappoint as there is always something interesting to see or learn, but I must admit that this was not at all to my personal aesthetic.
Excellent comment. Really enjoyed reading it. Thank you. 🙏
I like it! Thanks Nick.
Glad you like it! Thank you. 🙏
Fascination, Nick, is my feeling. I’m much too oldfashioned for this kind of ”ruin-romantic” style, but, with that said, the owner has really did a good work shaping this apartment! For those who like this it must be wonderful, I, myself, did love the shutters!
Fair enough. Thank you for watching 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much for watching 🤗🤗🤗
Love Wabi-Sabi, Love low hanging lighting (am doing that in a reno at the moment) , love the funky art and bathroom walls! Love the rooftop terrrace...awesome city living apartment with a lot of soul. Grazie Nick...I feel we are kindred spirits! Have a great weekend, Marisa 🥰🤗💚
Thanks Marisa. 🙏🤗❤️
@@italianproperty you’re welcome! ☺️
Quintessential man cave. Probably the most interesting property I have seen on your page.
😀 BRILLIANT 🤩 I’m so pleased! Thank you 🙏
You are amazing…I love your enthusiasm!
Hi Nick,
You're right again about the finish.
Thanks,
Neil
Thanks Neil. 🙏
Thanks Gail. Sounds fabulous ❤️❤️❤️🙏🤗
Certainly not for everyone but it does have a certain allure. Deconstructed moody? That chandelier ❤️ those round lamps 💗location 👍👍👍
LOVE it! Not sure I’m brave enough to live there, but it’s a work of art for a specific buyer who will view it as a steal at 480k! 😊
Love it!
Hi Nick, thanks but no thanks to this one. It is very different. When you said you like rust I said me too 😃and I remembered a picture I saw in a magazine. It was of an old truck put out to die in the garden and a sign in front of it read, "RUST IN PEACE". so funny. Ciao 😂 💖😊
❤️🙏🤗
You had me at furry front door…..😍
JUST KIDDING.
Just love your comment. Thank you. 😊❤️
@@italianproperty ❤🙂
I go back-and-forth over whether I like Wabi Sabi. I do like this apartment, however. I sometimes think of this style as "bomenian vampires"
🙏❤️
Amazing fantastic stylish individual interior that’s as rare as hens teeth as they say reminds me totally of the Hungarian Ruin bars in Budapest that we live nearby too .. Fantastic
I think it’s fantastic too. ❤️🙏🤗
I love it! Ya gotta commit to the bit!
He will be in this week’s video. Thanks Beverly. 🙏❤️🤗
I love this! Would only add some soft decor items for contrast and a stair railing. imPERFECTion.
Great idea!! Yes, it’s exceptional. Thank you so much for watching and for your comment 🤗🤗🤗💚💚💚
Hi Nick , hi everyone watching ...
This one is not for me ....
I do like parts like the shutters and furniture , but the furry doors and boar head , no thanks ...
Nice to have the tour anyway ....have a nice weekend all !
Ok I like the upper level and the terrace😊
Now, that’s a great comment Beverly. Thank you so much. One needs to be brave in life. ❤️❤️❤️🤗🙏
Excellent apartment!
OMG! I love it! Love the exposed walls, love the cools chandeliers, love the kitchen. My next Q was, where is the fridge, but you answered that... The bathroom with the drawings, so cool! I want to see the more risqué pics.
Unfortunately I couldn’t. 😊 🙏❤️🤗
Cool interior 🎉
TEXTURES, love all the textures and chandeliers. However, would remove all the furniture from the two downstairs bedrooms, but keep the chandeliers. And there is also a garage nearby, available at extra cost. Thanks for this tour Nick, great to see more variety in styles.
Pleasure. Appreciate your comment. ❤️🙏🤗
Courageous for showing us this apartments. It is not my cup of tea. 😀. Arezzo is splendid.
This one was a little interesting, but you make it so much fun Nick thank you
Not the biggest fan of the architect but your enthusiasm kept me watching!
Thank you so much!!☺️ 🤗🤗🤗🤗💚
Yes I find the properties I don’t like very useful to pinpoint what I do like - for me I wanted to weep at the destruction of the floors and the ceilings - it felt forced and self-conscious - I prefer more traditional and warm.
