University of Manitoba biological sciences professor Gary Anderson discusses the facts behind ingesting iodine as a preventative measure for exposure to radiation.
My dear Mr Anderson, you are a blessing!! I thank you so very much for this very valuable information. And by the way... I love your accent!! It is delightful! 😊
Thank you for sharing this was very informative. I would never have thought of iodine as a normal part of our function, I thought it was just an old antiseptic that’s used to treat water.
Dangerous video. The guy has no idea what he’s talking about. You need Potassium Iodide or Potassium Iodate in a nuclear emergency. NOT Iodine. Elemental (free) iodine is poisonous, except in the very small amounts in water disinfected with iodine tablets or a few drops of tincture of iodine. Furthermore, elemental iodine supplied by iodine tablets and released by tincture of iodine dropped into water is not effective as a blocking agent to prevent thyroid damage. If you do not have any potassium iodide, DO NOT TAKE IODINE TABLETS OR TINCTURE OF IODINE. * DO NOT MAKE A FUTILE, HARMFUL ATTEMPT TO EAT ENOUGH IODIZED SALT TO RESULT IN THYROID BLOCKING. Iodized salt contains potassium iodide, but in such a low concentration that it is impossible to eat enough iodized salt to be helpful as a blocking agent.🎉
I've been taking Lugol's iodine for over a year now. Can anyone say with certainty whether or not that will prevent radioactive iodine uptake into my body?
@Auracle "Iodine deficiency is associated with increased risk of some cancers which have thyroid hormone receptors, such as breast, thyroid and stomach (Verheesen et al, 2008). However, the overall incidence for a relationship between iodine and cancer is poor."
So radioactive iodine will replace the non radioactive iodine in the body if not substitutet with non radioactive iodine? do i understand that correct?
If u look at the thyriod as a bag: filling the bag with NONradioactive iodine will prevent the uptake of radioactive iodine in the thyroid. It basiclly fills the bag leaving no room
To think we would be weeks or months away from a nuclear war. Also iodine is currently running out the military has purchased most of the us stock we had. Any left might get sold for alot.
@@Alejandra-cv7rj i can confirm that. The providone iodine gets cleared out of 3 walmarts by me as soon as stocked. This was happening a month BEFORE russian invasion. I was just restocking med kits and noticed it was only med item having a supply run
How much should an adult/child take if you have Lugol's 2% iodine! If exposed to radiation? Meaning in like milliliters or drops per day and how many days? Or any websites for that information that is clear?
@@pinkdude3883 u should not take any unless u see a nuke flash OR u have geiger counter readings showing high levels. U dont take iodine as a vitamin or something

Thanks. I just like to know these things.
Thanks, Sir.
Hw much pay radioiodin treatment
Will it only prevent radioactive iodine from absorbing into the intestines or can it block other isotopes too?
Is there iodine soaps ?

ain't no guarantees.
@Auracle fr?
Sea moss, kelp and bladderwrack
@Auracle no
Ah no worries. Its likely the only way to get out of the time share.
Are drops different from pills?
Only use Lugols iodine liquid, pills arnt as bio available
So will potassium iodine help you with nuclear attack vs potassium iodide
It's the same thing.

Try Lugols Iodine Solution
How much and how long? Age and weights?
@@oldluke7653 did you find any information on that yet? And if so what website? I'm finding it hard to find any good information out there.
@@pinkdude3883 I am thinking 1 dropper for 100 pounds and under for a week or two?
@@oldluke7653 yeah I was thinking that too through my research. The iodine I got was Lugol's 2% solution
@Pink Dude Mine, too. I also have pills.
You should be taking iodide with potassium.
Not Iodine.
Look it up!
Best vid ever😂😂✌️✌️
He didn't say anything...mumbled and jibberish
