I was introduced to bodom when I was about 13 years old. It blew my mind. It was my first step into metal and made me feel a way that I couldn’t describe. I was in jr high and hit my first concert with my best friend mike. It was the unholy alliance tour. Mastodon, lamb of god, bodom, and slayer. Here I stand almost 20 years later and I’ve yet to experience anything in my life as loud as what I felt that day. I was lucky enough to see bodom a few more times after that before alexi passed. This band was so instrumental into shaping me into the man I am today and every time I hear these riffs it takes me back to a completely different era of life. RIP Alexi. The man will go on as a legend for eternity. 🥲🤙

A little while ago I came across Anssi Kippo's blog posts where he revealed some less known facts about the recording process of the first 2 CoB albums. And just recently I aquired the first 3 Bodom albums + Blooddrunk for 4€ (and their condition is like brand new). First 2 albums were the shit for me 20+ years ago! Listening to them now really takes me back. And now you cover one of their classics... There is only one thing I can say: TORILLE!
Thank you for this cover! For me this is a blast from the past that brings me back 20 years in time to ~2000, when I was 17. I was a shy, silent guy who got bullied a lot and who was regularly thinking about committing suicide because somehow I saw no other exit and was lost in my feelings. Then this strange, dark and wild girl from my class somehow realized something bad was going on with me and long story short, she invited me over to her and introduced me metal! And CoB where my entry drug. Their music caught me like nothing else. They pulled me in, cracked my shell open and provided me with a valve that let all my feelings and despair out. The music as fast, harsh and wild as it was in me at this time. Something Wild, Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper where my musical therapy, and it was quite successful, as I'm still here. Now I didn't listen to their music for at least 8 to 10 years. Thank you for bringing them back to my mind and for inducing these memories from more than half of my life ago!
