The Shootings Of Raylan Givens

- Опубликовано: 4 окт 2024
- All the shootings of U.S. Deputy Marshall Raylan Givens on the FX show Justified. Raylan has shot and killed 13 people and wounded 3 others over the first 2 seasons. He has also shot a couch. I will add the season 3 shootings when I have time to sit down and re watch all the episodes.
The occasional sprinkling of Raylan shootings over the course of the series really helped keep it interesting. You never knew when he was gonna draw.
If Dirty Harry carried a Glock; "I know what you're thinkin', did I fire sixteen shots or only fifteen?"
😆👍🏻
Raylan carries a Glock 17 which holds 17 rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber
@@BigBWolf90 He carried a Glock 45 which holds 15. It was in episode 10 of season 1 he revealed that.Though, it would be more logical that he would've carried a 17, since most law enforcement prefer it. I remember his character saying that because I thought it was an odd choice. In the pilot he carried a SIG P226, though I don't think that they specified the caliber.
@@yngwievanwinger1432 ok I understand what you mean but let's point a few things out. 1: season one was airing in 2010 and the model known as the Glock 45 didn't come out until 2018. 2. The Glock 45 is essentially a black Glock 19x which is the Glock 19 slide on the 17 frame which means the standard magazine for that is 17 rounds. 3. For a Glock model the size he's using to have 45 attached to it it would mostly really be chambered in .45 acp which would make it a Glock 21 which holds 13 in the magazine plus 1 in the chamber. 4. Common thing in Hollywood is to just say the brand name and caliber size or just do like what they did in the show the Wire and just say "9" or "9mm".
Not trying to be an asshole just pointing out a few things. Also you're right on most law enforcement agencies liking the 17 size but 19 is pretty popular too. Also you're right in the pilot he did use a Sig Sauer P226
Dirty Harry didn’t need 17 rds
Walker-"You shot me in the back!"
Raylan "If you wanted to be shot in the front you should have run towards me."
Rob, That's the best...
Now THERE'S some pure Kentucky Hillbilly Wisdom if you ask me!
I could not get enough of this show. Sure was sorry to see it end.
You read the news?
Raylan Givens is coming back!!!
"You know, Raylan, in kindergarten, if you bite two kids you get the reputation as a biter."
Oliphant and Goggins need to be brought back together in some kind of TV show or movie!
A prequel of them digging coal together would be cool except that they're too old. I'd be willing to suspend disbelief though.
@@stinkyham9050 what do you mean they're too old? Walton was on Ant-Man 2 he didn't look old to me. Timothy is still the same as he was when he did Justified remember he did that zombie Netflix show with Drew Barrymore... the only difference is now he just has white grayish hair... you make it sound like they're in their 60s
@@stinkyham9050 you do realize they could easily hire actors who look similar to them for a prequel. Just like the revived for a supernatural we're going to get a 1970 prequel they're going to do the same thing like they did for the episodes that took place in the past where they hired celebrities to play John and Mary who look very similar to Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Samantha Smith... common sense
If you don't believe me about the revive look up Jensen ankles look at his social media he wants to do a revive and five years and he just announced that he's also doing a spin-off for Supernatural
@@simonjack9699 No I'm just saying it would be weird if Goggins and Olyphant tried to play the same characters but in their 20s. I'd loved to see them in anything together.
Raylan Givens is one of the best characters on TV in a long, long time. Not surprising, it doesn't get much better than Elmore Leonard. RIP.
If you haven't already you should watch Deadwood an HBO show set in the old west. This character is basically a reincarnation of the one Timothy Olyphant played on that show. Sheriff Seth Bullock. Plus the whole show is awesome too.
Bullock was a wooden ass...Raylan is far more nuanced and likeable
...And Raylan's a Chick Magnet, to boot! Women, for some reason, feel protected whenever they're in his presence, and boy, do they ever show their gratitude!
David Hanson His name lives on!
Check out the TV version of Get Shorty with Chris O'Dowd as an irish mobster. he gives Tony Soprano a run in the range from sweet to rage.
"Use it or throw it away"..... OMG what a bad ass line.
Justified was one of the greatest TV shows I've seen in a long time Raylan Givens was a great character
The best
Ava was a dime
Lousy special effects though. They don't even understand the physics of bullet entry holes in wood......they don't splinter,,,,,,only exit holes splinter. Ruined it for me.
@@Biffo1262 That's a bit nit-picky don't ya think? I mean, most people don't know that, and furthermore - i can't imagine anything less than 3 quarters of all shootout scenes in film/tv-show history is guilty of the same thing, (referring specifically to the splinters). At least his glock-17 doesn't sound quite as much like an airsoft gun like most shows and movies gun-sound effects do. That said, alot of the ak's however - most certainly did sound like they were airsoft guns, but i aint holding that against it. But o course your welcome to your own opinion.
Raylan is such a badass but one question that was CONSTANTLY going through my head as I watched this show: who's the better character, Raylan or Boyd? Raylan is a freaking badass but I think Boyd is more charismatic. And both Oliphaunt and Goggins played their roles to perfection
pathendlem who’s better? I don’t think that’s important. They worked perfectly off each other, a perfect dichotomy, Yin and Yang.
I would say Boyd was more impressive, Goggins made an outlaw every bit as likeable as a hero in the end. But raylan was the perfectly flawed protagonist.
Raylan hands down was the best. Boyd didn't think things out well enough.
Both would be diminished without the other.
It's always easier to create a fun villain to watch. Creating an interesting hero that lights up the screen every time he's on it is way tougher. I give the nod to Raylan, no contest.
They justified each other.
The casting in this series was Magnificent...Award winning performances. especially Raylan and Boyd...
Woman:"I cant believe you shot me!'
Raylan: "Me neither!"
One of his best, but I didn't see it in this clip...
That was Maggie Lawson who normally plays police detective Juliet O'Hara on Psych that he shot.
Epic!!!
@@chardtomp was that the one when Dewey Crowe thought they took his kidneys?
Or the one with the pregnant prisoner?
@@moose2577 I think it was Dewey's kidneys.
This is an awesome video. Thank you for just showing the clips and not showing off with editing, or adding crappy music over all the scenes. Raylan Givens is enough! Great work!
Boyd was the perfect anti-hero to Raylen’s hero
Raylan the Anti-hero who's retains his white hat.
Raylan is the anti hero, boyd was a villain protagonist, and boon was a villain. Raylan's partner who's name escapes me at the moment would be a good example of a hero. This show did an excellent job at making the distinction between them.
"We dug coal together"
so perfect. rooted for him
Dude, when Raylen shot Boyd in the premiere episode....I literally screamed..."NOOOOOO!!!"
Thankfully Raylen missed his heart and I love how the show plays with Raylen intentionally missing so he would only wound Boyd.
Great show.
loved him in Deadwood and i love Justified. the dialog is epic.
This is probably the only character I like just as much in a video format as I book format. I did watch the show first and it's what drew me to Elmore Leonard in general, but I was still surprised how subtly different the character was in the book, but still extremely likeable. It was really a great interpretation from Tim. The main difference is the show version is a lot more demonstrative, but that's always going to be the case when you actually have to act out a character in the place of actually reading his thoughts like in a novel. You obviously don't get that inter dialogue in the tv show you get in the books during Raylan's chapters in the novels he's in.
i like danny green too! (kill the irishman) and he was a REAL person - not just a character.
I knew Elmore Leonard. And he agreed with you. He thought this character and Justified was true to his book. He liked very few adaptations of his books to movies. He liked 52 Pick-Up, Out Of Sight which I had worked on before I met him. Then later I worked on Freaky Deaky. We both happened to see it on the same day. He didn't care for that one, but was glad I was in it. He once read from one of his books to some of my children. 3 weeks after we both saw Freaky Deaky .He had a stroke in the middle of the last chapter of his 45th book. He never regained consciousness, and passed away 3 weeks later. He and I stayed in touch for many years. I really liked him, and we could talk forever. But he wanted to talk about anything other than his books.
Check out the 3 seasons of Get Shorty (Not the movie…the series)!
I re-read the books after watching the series and, in my head, Raylan talked like Mr Olyphant
I miss this show. Thank you for uploading.
Why cant we get a spinoff with Raylans sniper Buddy?
Set in Montana or something
Well, I think Loretta sees Raylan as a surrogate father figure and as such, I could see her growing up & following Raylan into law enforcement, and another spinoff possibility. Just think - Loretta joins the Cin City (Cincinnati, OH) USA PD and has her hands full taking on the remnants of the legendary (not to mention notorious) Newport, KY Mafia - now there's a spinoff that MUST be created!
@@hcjc57 totally agree.
Maybe even Wyoming, or northern Idaho...waaaay up in them mountains or waaay out in them woods....:)
And we can call it "Far Cry 5"
Can we all agree that to get a complete accumulation of Rayland's shooting would an equivalent to either one or two full episodes of Justified
Sounds about right 😂
This is Alec Baldwin's favorite video he loves it because it shows how you can shoot all these people without killing any of them.
the modern day Clint Eastwood i just love how good he acts!
Damn good comparison
mriddley Except it is fun to see that Raylan gets the crap beaten out of him on a somewhat regular basis, so he is not portrayed as all Chuck Norris'y' and larger than life. Clint Eastwood's characters never did, as far as I recall (although I am no expert on his roles).
Samisowhat Sothere Off the top of my head I recall Marshall Duncan in High Plains Drifter getting mobbed and Blondie in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly nearly dying to heat exhaustion and dehydration after being marched across the desert.
@@bnctaj Tuco and him went back and forth all the way through Good Band and Ugly.
@@LC-ys6ic yeah you're right I'd say for the most part, except for Hang em High and maybe Good Bad And Ugly, pretty damm good show
Use it or throw it away
Hands down one of my very favorites.
RIP Bill Ponderosa.
Great job! thanks for posting for all to enjoy!!
Art: "You know, Raylan, in kindergarten if you bite someone a second time, you get labeled a biter."
Raylan: "What's your point, Art?"
Now that "Breaking Bad" is over, "Justified" becomes my #1 current television show.
Might have to give this show a re-watch. I do miss it! Jacob Pitts was criminally underrated and under-utilised but I do love Timothy Olyphant’s Raylan.
Damn, I loved this show so much. Just rewatched it last month and here I am watching multiple videos on RUclips. I guess I will be rewatching it again real soon.
Damn Timothy Olyphant nails this role. I hate that season 6 is the last.
I loved this show. Raylan was unfailingly polite, even as he shot at the scumbags.
Was my favorite show, didn't miss an episode, sure wish it would come back on.
The script writter passed away unexpectedly.
That is why the show ended. Bummer
Need to add the one in Boyd's bar when he shoots the hitman dressed as a cop.
Jesus I hope I was right!! lol
GKsGS400 my favorite
What about the guy he shot with the bean bag? Hilarious!
That is a beautiful scene! should've made the cut.
I thought it was “Jesus, I hope I got that right” ? It’s the scene most memorable for me across all tv shows and possibly movies as well!
ruclips.net/video/0zKbTU0GlfQ/видео.html
That s a show I really miss. One of the best.
I need to start watching this series.
It's well worth your time. Great show!
I just finished it and I'm already missing
Been a huge fan of Olyphant's since Deadwood...didn't care for his character in DieHard XX, but he was spot on in Hitman too.
Great actors make their job look so easy.
Not a single wasted scene in the entire series.
And the Raylan Givens/Boyd Crowder dynamic. The best ever.
Raylan Givens is a Straight up Bad Ass!! Justified is my Favorite Series of all time
Now Raylan, why are you interrupting me in my place of business, while im trying to have a conversation between me and cousin Johnny.. lol
My favorite 'Justified' video.....THANKS!
Me too...
My favourite was when he shot Dewey's pool.
Loved this series. Wished it had kept going
Just announced a limited new series coming soon
Art: "...you got that covered."
Me: "Talk about shots fired..."
Great show highly underrated
This is so much fun to watch. I am ready for season 3's shootings. Pretty please...
One of my all time favorite shows!!!
It's a pleasure watching Givens work.
I must say, that is the BEST Glock commercial yet!!!
"He has also shot a couch." in the description. Love it.
Outstanding series and books!
I can think of at least three more that need to be in here... great show I miss it!
One of the best shows on tv!
"You gonna bob and weave a bullet" This man is the greatest.
great show! it forms a weird and AWESOME dichotomy when you compare it to the show Deadwood.
There have been more, we are missing several. Great video though waiting for the next :)
looking back Timothy Olyphant made this show iconic no other actor could have pulled off raylan
very true...he is just magnificent as Raylan....and Walton as Boyd...sublime...no one could play these two roles but them....bring them back....heard thru the grape vine a TV movie is in the making....
Oh contrar monfra i think james garner would have been good. But he is dead.
@@bigwu100 lol well dead guys aside:)
so glad Timothy Olyphant is in Mandalorian cannon and I just want more of him!
they did him dirty in book of bobba fett
@@dekzzxhe’s not dead. I think Cobb will be back
"HEY, CAN YOU GUYS STOP SHOOTIN FOR A MINUTE AND LET ME GET A WORD IN?!"..........Raylan is probably the only guy that would say that in the middle of a shoot out
This is probably telhe greatest sitcom ever.
Great show. Looking forward to the new one.
Learn something from Timothy Olyphant. One of the fewest actors that keep their fingers off the trigger until on target and ready to fire unlike most actors. Probably the most important rule during stressful situations to prevent a negligent discharge.
This comment is ancient history by internet standars, but my how right you are, shout out to Alec Baldwin
Love when he shoots Boyd. He seemed more upset by that than when he shot his own father.
Can we get a updated video with all the seasons
As soon as I started watching this video I was hoping it would end that way. Well done
Really needed "The next one's comin' faster" on this.
Lol i loved that scene. Also when they are laughing about it later with, i think it was the fbi guys investigating him.
How did you not put the most bad ass one with him and Boone from season finale?
2:20 that open window scene is my fave of the whole show
Boyd has also created a lot of issues for the main, worst bad guy of all though. When, or if Theo ever goes down, we know it would never be possible without Boyd, directly or indirectly. Many times his own plans failing or going through, has led to Raylan succeeding.
Good, but needs updating. ;)
best comment was the bar scene when he told the two clowns " I didn't order assholes with my whiskey".
IS THAT THE EPISODE WHERE HE GOT HIS ASS WHIPPED IN BACK OF THE BAR ?, NOT HIS FINEST HOUR, BUT IT WAS FUNNY.
Bring on season 6!
Yeah that was a damn good show. Elmore Leonard wrote some good stuff. RIP Mr.Leonard. Tim Oliphant was damn good in it too. Lots of talented folks on that show. I could watch it again no problem.
The window sill shot was awesome!
Great video. It is missing the scene where Raylan shoots the hitman dressed as a cop, the hitman that uses the ice pick and the series finale with Booth.
I have a lot of memories of men like Raylan I've known through the years especially in the Infantry & growing up on the southwest side of Detroit which was a melting pot of every ethnic & cultural background imaginable. No BS, get the job done whatever it takes is how Tim played Elmore's character perfectly. Great stuff.
I hate the show ended. I loved it and will miss it.
Monica Lowman I was hoping that Ava would get in a little trouble for what see did to Boyd. Felt cheated kind of. Owell.
I agree with you B roni.
B roni
Boyd didn't deserve any retribution. He was a shitty human being.
Safton
That true. I just didn't like the way Ava shot him and stole his money. But i guess he was bound to get shot by someone sooner or later because he never cared about anyone he shot and killed, so i agree.
+Safton Boyd is the definition of a bad ass villain who always keeps his cool, his character was epic!
It's so weird to see Sheldon's Dad being a bad guy lmao
I put off watching the last episode in the last season for two weeks because I didn't want it to end.
Also need to add the one from the final episode. Probably one of the best.
Can't wait for the follow-up covering up to the series finale...
Raylan used a SigSauer P226 9m/m to shoot the thug in Miami; upon being transferred to Harlan County, Raylan then switched to a Glock 3rd Generation Model 21 .45 ACP for his primary handgun with a "Baby" Glock Model 26 sub-compact 9m/m for his back-up piece.
And the lady agent seems to carry a G26 primary weapon which looks big in her hand. See the gun fight scene where her and sniper boy kill 3 cartel guys at Ava's country home.
I miss this series.
I need to watch this again
Rayland is badass and so cool, nice combination. Never looses his temper even when he shoots somebody
“Next ones coming faster” 😈
Maybe the best line ever delivered in a TV show.
I absolutely loved this show!!!!!!!!!!
That under the window shot always makes me laugh!
Reminds me of the shot in Pale Rider where Clint Eastwood is laying low behind the water trough and the guy looks over the trough. Just like this, straight up through the chin. There is no recovering from that shot.
"(...)has shot and killed 13 people and wounded 3 others over the first 2 seasons. He has also shot a couch"
OH GOD, NOT A COUCH!!
Machinegun0arg he shot it twice...I’m sorry but it’s not repairable...
I had almost forgotten how good this show was...
im so glad i gave this show a chance
I like use it or throw it away.....28 yrs in law enforcement and I never said that! DAMN!
Kinda like “Fell lucky, punk?”
Lightning speed combined with deadly accuracy. Bang
One of the Greatest shows ever
I need to rewatch this show
Justified is a great TV show but it is a show I’m Canadian but I’ve been to Kentucky people are the same as everywhere else a little friendlier and the music is second to none great food bourbon beer I had a great time it’s a beautiful place still love this show
What a great show...
@CoxBl0ck
So....do you intend to update this video with Season 3's Shootings?, I hope so.....Seem rather inactive on this video.
Brilliant series
It’s missing one of my favorite confrontations! My favorite is the one with “Ice Pick Nix”!
You'll never leave Harlan alive
Too bad they did not show the final shoot out. Great compilation.
Great show!!!!!❤️
