For me, Donnie Munro has the most beautiful male voice in the world as a singer.
I often listen to the live concert from Sterling Castle 1997 and always get goosebumps, simply fantastic.
For me, Runrig is like breathing air.
My favorite song: "Going home".

Choked up listening to this I was at this concert ,nothing short of amazing people with tears of passion in their eyes . Now in Australia 11 years looking back at some incredible memories saor Alba, Alba gu Brath ..

Abba have just released superb music
after 40 years and the world's gone crazy , and rightly so . But how cool would it be if Runrig reformed with Donnie back as lead singer , all the original band members, even one album and a few gigs . That would be one ticket we'd all want !! 😀😀👍👍🌟🌟
I'm a fan of Runrig for nearly 3 decades now. But it always seemed to me, that they were really surprised about their success and couldn't (or wanted?) really handle it. What makes them - in my eyes - even more likeable. I really miss Donnie and am in hope of a reunion. Like Abba reunited after 40 years. Hope, Runrig will not take so much time... ;-)))

Oh this would be Heaven seen them a few times wae ma Mum.n Dad they're 77 and 73 now one last time of togetherness would be Amazing. Could do with Uplifting After the 3 years the country's had or rather 12 years 🙄😅

OMG thankyou for bringing ma Heart & Soul Hame. Seen Runrig a few times, wae my Scottish Mum n Dad but no quite the same in Portsmouth Guildhall as Stirling Castle 😅...still thoroughly enjoyed the Band, ourselves though.
We just missed this Cocert bcs Royal Mail wouldn’t let have that fortnight off. To go.up tae Scotland on our Holidays tae see family...ma wee Brother Barry was there he was a Roadie for them.
We got up in the August though and our First Born, our Son was conceived on that wee Holiday. Born on 7th May 1998. 10 days early... thanks Son. 👍😅

One of the world's top musicians and not just because he absolutely masters the Strat. The box, the pipes .....he can even play a drum!
A master musician, a rare talent, who complemented each other. Runrig may not be a group anymore, but their music will live for ever. That's what I say.
Agree with all the comments. Runrig were a sum of many parts - but Malcolm Jones' musical talent was surely irreplaceable.

Donnie was the voice of runrig,never really found Bruce to be a good fit, saw them many times over the years,there will never be another like them

Wow I would have loved to see them at Stirling Castle...lived by Loch Lomond...but we moved tae England when I wis wee...so we saw them in the Guildhall in Portsmouth...not quite Stirling Castle is it but we thoroughly loved them...every time.

Bruce brought his own take on things; and let's face it - how many bands have changed members and no-one has said owt?
The only thing I don't like (but it's their prerogative) is the fact they stopped.
Being in the band for more than twenty years, singer Donnie Munro decided to leave to pursue his own way. And thus my Runrig story ended.
You need to give the Bruce years a try. Great singer and great tunes for 20 years.
I can't say my Runrig story ended when Donnie left but definitely it hasn't been the same. Bruce voice is OK but can't be compared to Donnie's in any way, Donnie's is so particular that for me it was the biggest contribution in making Runrig such a unique band (just also only my opinion).
BTW Thanks to Erling Mortensen for uploading the video, I have been whishing something like this for years.
I feel the same...I.liked Bruce tae saw them an were still Brilliant...but it's Donnie Munro and Rory's voices are Runrig for me.

Donnie was a really good front-man for Runrig until he decided he was a more important man than that and went into politics..

@@jamescoyle3457 I like a lot of Bruce's stuff but it took a while for me to appreciate. Still some of the old songs that Donnie sung, like Flower of the West, sound flat when sung by Bruce. if it hadn't been for Rory's singing I doubt that I would have even given Bruce a chance to actually impress me with some of the newer songs. Just my opinion.
