This is spine tingling stuff!! United under Tommy Doc with a singing, swaying Stretford End, I fuckin loved these days at OT, they were the very best, thanks so much for uploading.
Without doubt the best era to be a red. Loved that team. Loved going every week. Loved having 75% of the ground at Hillsborough for semi's. Thank you Tommy Doc, and the boys. Happiest days of my life. Total shite nowadays. Day trippers. Millionaire mard arse players. Phil fu**in Jones. 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋GREENHOFF. 🇾🇪❤️
Remember my first match like it was yesterday. 1977 at home to Leeds. Reds won 1-0 with a goal which went in off Trevor Cherry's hand. Attendance 60,612. Atmosphere then was absolutely electric in every match, nothing like today.
Brings back wonderful memories this , I remember as a young lad I used to listen to the matches on the radio with my father and we would get the pink paper every week , , love listening to Brian Moore and forgot the other comentater name he was from Salford, my team was liverpool growing up but both liverpool and United were both brilliant teams , life was simple , no mobile phones no one had cars unless you were from a rich family everyone was the same , miss those days , and brings tears to my eyes thinking about it because both my mum and dad passed away , I grew up in Manchester and on the tele every week was cornation street and once a week match off the day
My hair used to stand up on the back of my neck cos the atmosphere was so electric in those days.... the Doc had it right that these were players trying to become stars whereas now they are all supposed stars trying to be players
Tommy Doc RIP! They should put a statue up of the Doc outside the Stretford End as he gave United the entertainment factor back for both players and fans.
George Best You are a Fantastic Football player You are the Best George Best Good bye the Belfast boy World legend Maradona Cruyff Pele George Best is the Best
what a time it was to follow the REDS back then. open attacking football with real fast paced winger and lots of heart and guts, plenty of flair and passion for the club and the fans. now we have to watch these egotistical, self absorbed, social media nancy boys strutting and preening themselves for more money in one week than most hard working stiffs make in a lifetime. ugh!
Gordon Hill was a little genius, probably one of the best attacking players United have had.... well ever? He seems to be involved in about 3/4 of these goals. Also, I've heard from so many fans that following United in the mid-1970s was as good as it ever got, forged by the year in the second division and the attacking, swaggering football being played... the mass travelling support.... like a religious cult. Watching this video really makes you feel it. Fantastic stuff.
Brilliant Video, so many memories. We never won much in those days but still had the biggest following, home and away. Try telling the youngsters and people who know nothing these days who jump on the tired old "Glory hunters" jibe. United have played in the way of Sir Matt Busby and that is why we have always attracted out of town followers. This video is evidence of this. Unsurpassed atmosphere.
Best Football ever Lets get back to that Todays Top Players have too many individuals look at United Today back then they could shoot from a distance todays teams have too many cheats and in general are over paid and not exceptional talent like back then all that despite a permanent muddy pitch what would Charlton Best and Dennis Law be worth on todays prices probably ONE BILLION POUNDS
seem to recall those 2 Martin rare gems were both in the last minute ...... Derby Jan 1978 (v The Doc !!) and Everton Sep 1978 ...can anyone confirm ??
@@Brez6645 I was wrong, that's not the one I was on about. Maybe it was v Bolton? I clearly remember Buchan letting fly and one of the United players doing the hero-worship thing to him afterwards!
@agaichapter25 I am a Man Utd fan from Singapore and I know that this team was made up of great English and Irish players who had great technical skill and ability. Who says the English can't play beautiful football? What kick and rush? I see United literally walking the ball into the net. Manchester United has always dedicated itself to playing beautiful, attacking and attractive football. Don't you agree? Why do you think that English football is still criticized?
absolutely love this utd era it was special . football hadnt seen support as utd had. on sunny days i think of 76 an i get emotional
These were the glory days ,players played there legs off , no diving or cheating , fans sang there hearts out , l luv ed it ! ex Stretford ender.

Great footage, atmospheres are electric and the commentary is awesome unlike today's lot.
From a everton fan that's some footage, great goals, great players, coppell was some player and for some reason I used to love the old Trafford goal nets
Today's fans could learn a thing or two from just listening to these fantastic videos.

Thanks for the video! When the Stretford End was the Stretford End. Don't remember us winning very often, but fuck, it was good:)
Bless you for this upload. These moments need to be preserved.

these were the days when it was fun to watch united standing in the stretford end falling from the top to the bottom when united scored
it was not about winning trophies back then it was about being there :)
Gordon Hill and Steve Coppell... enough said.
What a striker Person was fantastic and Gordon Hill one of the best
Great goals, united had a massive away following, didn't realise coppell and hill were that good.
The underated Gerry daly.

This is how a crowd and fans should be, they are climbing on top of people to just scream on the top of there lungs, amazing.
Hilly was my favourite in those days.
Again, thank you for these two videos.
Breathtaking and at one stage full of celtic players

I think Van Gaal and his team of today need to watch this to remind them of what Man U are all about.

what I would give for just one saturday afternoon on the stretford end back then, again....
And listening to Brian Moore, both United and liverpool has brilliant football teams in the seventies and early eighties
Same here mate. We'll never get those days back. Couldn't sleep the night before a game. Oh Tommy Tommy 🇾🇪
Coppel and Hill, my God.
It still pisses me off that Sexton sold Gordon Hill, what the fuck was he thinking.
What would Steve Coppell be worth now? Great player
great days !!
09:15 amazing Gordon Hill goal !
Anybody remember Buchan's 25 yard screamer v Derby in the 4-0 win early 1978?
It's in this video at 11:20 but it was more like 20 yards. His 35 yard screamer against Everton is also in this video
seem to recall those 2 Martin rare gems were both in the last minute ...... Derby Jan 1978 (v The Doc !!) and Everton Sep 1978 ...can anyone confirm ??
@@tonyrowe4701 The Derby County one was in the 88th minute; the Everton one was injury time. So more or less correct.

Forget all that brazil 1970 shite. Man utd from 1975 to 1979. Best teams ever.
Beating them lot down the lancs and the odd cup run,was a good season.
Fkn mint days , left side STRETFORD END.
M.U.F.C
Compare these legends to today's wastrels !
Don't mention Alan Sunderland.
Andy Ritchie was a bit of a star, always thought he was a second stringer.
What was the home game when Mickey Thomas knocked someone out ?
LOL to all the Gordon Hill comments, he's my coach hahaha
I think you'll find there was more than few Scots in there as well as English and Irish.......plus Mickey Thomas.

Gorden Hill Millllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Swashbuckling football what United should always be about
just look at the condition of the pitch...........something of a joke isnt it
Players are over paid prima donnas now
No fans even come close to the red army
