To touch on your point about them winning fair and square. You said "how do we know?". Well we do know and we know it wasn't fair and square. They made it to a title game off the success of ill gotten gains. The head coach? He was getting fired if he didn't cheat and start winning. Those veteran players that they paid to retain for one more year? Where did that money come from? From boosters and revenue that was obtained by cheating. If a drug dealer takes the money he earned from selling drugs and opens a legitimate business, it doesn't make him a legitimate business man. In no world though, if we win it all, am I going to throw the baby out with the bathwater and not give day his due credit. Kris just struck a chord with me in saying that if we do not beat ttun next season we will be out for his head once again. I will have more loyalty and gratitude to Day, to just throw him out like last week’s trash. Anyway, love you and Kris both, but I just really felt urge to share my thoughts!
@@cf32191 hey thanks buddy. My original comment was directed at a someone who said “day needs to beat Michigan to be a legend”. He has beaten Michigan, I just want to know what people who feel that way believe the threshold is. I do agree with Kris that a 5th straight loss, natty or not will bring out a ton of venom. A ton of “a dozen coaches could have won 1 natty with Ryan Days last 7 teams (at that point). I also agree with you that if you win us a national championship, I’m gonna extend some grace that I otherwise would not have. Wins in the rivalry definitely matter to me but I’ve only watched 2 teams in my life win it all. No coach is perfect and the future looks bright.
I'm not sure if I agree with Kris about the record against Michigan. I've never heard anyone even bring up that stat until Jim Tressel and Urban dominated the series. I can't stand that we have lost the last 4 but a National Championship is a National Championship and since losing that game doesn't knock you out from winning it all, like it used to, it doesn't matter quite as much as it used to matter. I hope Day stays around long enough to get that record back on the winning side but I unfortunately don't think that will happen. Ryan, Just win this one and you'll be fine for a while but you have to figure out Michigan or you will lose your job eventually. Start by using some NIL on the Offensive Line.
I don’t see Notre Dame’s offense being able to keep up with your guys offense. I only see this being a tight game if your offense can’t get it clicking and find their rhythm. But I have a feeling your wide receivers are going to eat this game. And defense going to be lights out. 42-10 Buckeye’s adding to the trophy case
Urbans teams were not firing on all cylinders when Ryan took over. Ryan was the reason the offense was good as the OC and the defense was terrible. He was the one that got Hafley for the 2019 season. A lot of revisionist history of Urban’s seasons after the championship.
Not talking about Urban’s teams. The program was set up as an every year contender with a high level staff, strength coach and most importantly a cutting edge (at the time) recruiting department that was rivaled by only Bama. It takes years of experience and contacts and trial and error to set all that up.
@@JuckOnBucks yes agreed about the program, but if we are honest, the program needed a new head coach that is actually willing to make changes when things aren’t working. Something urban struggled with even more than Ryan. You won’t hear Kris say that though.
@ I’m a big shelf life guy in coaching. I’m more scared of hanging on too long than I am of a new guy. Tress ended abruptly but it felt about right. Same with Urban for me and he said as much last week. He was spent. Days willingness to change last offseason was refreshing. His 7th year next season won’t feel like Urbans 7th to me.
40:10 Ryan just needs to stick around a few years and clean-up that Michigan record. The natty, and you are legend....especially if he sticks around for a second one. Yes, I'm counting this one done, I'm part of the over confident crowd.
Juck, do you think some of these coaches leave due to the pressure they suffered during the year with the fan base? Will the take the win and run? If they lose, they are sure to leave but if they win, will they take the opportunity to go coach somewhere else while they are ahead?
Will Howard is everything good about Craig Krenzel. Also, he's thrown for more yards this season than CJ Stroud did in 2022. If Treveyon Henderson gets 33 yards and Quinshon Judkins gets 40, The Ohio State will have 2 1000 yard rushers for the first time since 2013.
I love that both can get 1000. But they got 3 more games than that team in 13. These season records are a bit off now when you make a run in the playoffs
JUCK! The new Coverage in the Redzone 3rd/4th dn? I'm calling it a Box 11 --- it was insane -- ruclips.net/video/XEim8Efs_rQ/видео.html I deep dive this Coverage - I've never seen anything like it - it enabled the pressure to get home both plays! Split Field Coverage - Condensed Cover 7 Concept to one side - Press Qtrs to the other side - 3-2 alignment w/ 6 DBs -- 2 LBs Sonny/Cody - each taking the RB or Spy -- ALL BASED ON PATTERN DISTRIBUTION - Classic Zone Match created originally by Belichick / Saban long ago. The Spy enabled the 3 DLineman to go 100% after QB - no contain -- THIS is why Jack could go off! What's even more incredible is Knowles pulling out a new coverage at this crucial time -- TRUSTS HIS PLAYERS! - In my breakdown you can see where Caleb and the DBs are communicating - it wasn't easy - but they pulled it off -- SUPER AGGRESSIVE - Not bad calls by Sark - two cool Route Designs - Corner and Switch - but Knowles got him in the end!
3:33 ND will lose if they play the run first. Ohio State's offense did not explode until they became a pass first offense. ND will want to play the pass first and shut that down and live with the run. Michigan followed that formula and they can do the same. That puts more pressure on Ohio States offensive line and it slows down the game to a pace that favors ND. They don't have any reason to play the run first. You beat Ohio State buy playing the pass first and give them some running plays. ND has the linebackers and D line to play the run straight up. ND needs to make this a game in the trenches between ND D line and linebackers vs Ohio States O line. Then they can win this game but not if they play cover zero and sell out on the run. That would be moronic.
I disagree. I don’t think he’s a huge difference maker but a quality Ohio State back. There aren’t many true difference maker backs out there. I think Isaiah West is the guy who we see take over a big role in the backfield early
Awful take that he doesn’t deserve legend status if we wins a natty, terrible, it is the greatest rivalry ever, but a regular season game does NOT matter if we win a natty
can people stop saying ryan day is 0-4 against michigan? he’s 1-4 and he should honestly be 2-4, michigan basically forfeited 2020. both teams had players out but michigan used it as a excuse because of how embarrassing michigan lost to day the year prior. “0-4” people only say it to push a narrative. and also if day wins this natty natty their is a big case that ryan will go down as a better college coach then harbaugh. atleast at this point in ryan days ohio state career compared to harbaugh.
But I’ve stopped saying he should be 2-4 because I’m not giving him the benefit of the doubt in that cancelled game anymore. Not after what we just sae
@@JuckOnBucks i’m still giving him the benefit of the doubt. i really think the last three games messed with day leading up to this last one. day would have been coming off a massacre win in 2019 and playing at home. instead michigan pulled the covid card and got back to back home games. another thing i’m not trying to throw shade on will howard but as terrible as the play calling was will played just as terrible and made horrible decisions. could have been because of a concussion we don’t know. but i just don’t see justin fields playing as bad as will did i really think 2020 would have been just as bad a beat down 2019.
So how would y'all feel if Ryan Day wins a natty but then loses another game to Michigan so y'all run him out to a place like Texas A&M where he goes on to win 3 more Natty's. Would y'all be happy if whoever the new coach is beats Michigan but can't win in the CFP and y'all keep watching Day stack Nattys at another school? It's crazy how y'all would cut your own nose to spite ya face, and give Michigan the last laugh by forcing y'all to fire a winning coach. Ohio State aint entitled to a thing. Pride comes before the fall.
@JuckOnBucks So OSU fans would have no problem with Day won multiple nattys at another program and be content with beating Michigan every year. You understand how crazy that sounds. Y'all would be ok being just another mediocre program as long as you can beat Michigan and wouldn't care that your old coach y'all thought wasn't good enough is winning multi nattys somewhere else. Then what if y'all beat Michigan every year but they still go on to win a title. I get having the greatest rivalry or what not, but to give y'all's rival that much power over y'all is insane. I ain't trying to be no a-hole. I don't get how ya'll would allow Michigan to have that much power over you. It ain't healthy.
@ it’s not my opinion but yes there are many that derive that much satisfaction. It’s only crazy to you because you can’t wrap your head around someone having different priorities. The rivalry was here before a national championship existed. Before the BCS before the conference championship games, before the 4 team playoff and the 12 team playoff and every other system that will follow. It’s everything else that has changed. The rivalry has stayed the same. You Speak of it as if it’s a burden. we GET to play a “Super Bowl” every year. That’s unique to us and and to them. Nobody else has a game that means this much to both sides that they get to play every year. It’s an honor and a privilege that we were born in to. It’s something we’ve been gifted to us that nobody else has. It’s Ohio pride in the sport uniquely tied to our state. It’s good vs evil, blue vs red, the working man vs the front office. It’s something we love. Not a burden. You come here to coach- you beat that damn team. You win championships. Championships mean more to me. To some the game means more. To many they mean they mean the same. What you’re missing here with Day and the reaction to him is that 3 of our last 4 coaches prior to him have been able to win a national championship and have a winning record vs them. It isn’t a one of the other proposition. You can do both and we want both. Hope that helps you understand it better. Best I can explain it. Maybe I’ll do a video as I’m better speaking than I am writing
@JuckOnBucks Look I get the rivalry. But it's not crazy for me to not be able to wrap my head round why someone would wanna let their rival drop a nuke on their program. Saying y'all would be ok to fire a coach who can still win, and goes on to prove that with multiple championships somewhere else, even if it means y'all don't win another natty as long as you can beat michigan sounds nuts. That's not me disrespecting y'all. Just try and think that thru logically from the outside. It's nuts! And one thing I've learned about y'all in this playoff is there's tons of players loyal to Ryan Day. How about if guy like Jeremiah Smith and Julien Sayin and other key dudes and coaches follow him out the door. Like I said I'm not disrespecting how y'all feel but that doesn't mean how y'all feel actually makes sense or is even healthy for osu to have long lasting status as a national powerhouse. That's all.
@ i understand you’re not being disrespectful, I didn’t take it like that at all. I’m just trying to give you the perspective of someone who feels that way. But keep in mind you’re putting out a lot of hypotheticals. There is no where I’ll have State fans. Think they’re ever going to not be a powerhouse because they never have not been a powerhouse. It’s the most consistent winning program in college football history. Although Ohio State fans know is success. You’re also living in a hypothetical here where Ryan Day goes on to win a bunch of national championships elsewhere. There are a lot of people who think Ryan Day is a very good coach, but he is also a coach who has never built a program. None of us have a clue how he would do if he had to build a program from the ground up. Many people believe that there are a lot of coaches who would be playing in the national championship with this team. I listen to 90% of the coaches in college football would have this team in the playoffs. And many people believe he’s not a value add coach. They think he’s a good coach and in there are many who could have done what he’s done in his time and Ohio State. He clearly doesn’t lose to Michigan, you saw his face at the end of the game. you saw the way they lost the game this year. It looks like an odd mental hangup. That’s very disturbing for a lot of Ohio State fans. And if they feel somebody else could do the same job and beat Michigan, then of course they would want a change. But I’m speaking from the perspective of the Buckeye prior to this playoff run. This has been something special and a fantastic coaching job. It has changed a lot of fans mind on how Ryan can do in a big spot when many feel he was gonna lose the team. It’s earned him a lot of grace. I don’t know what the national narrative is on how Ohio State fans feel about Ryan Day but as someone who talks to Buckeye fans every day, there are many who decided they had had enough after Michigan unless he went on a run right now. And he’s done that.
Hypothetically, any QB could have led this Buckeye team to the Natty. Hypothetically, any coach could have done what Day has done. Hypothetically Alabama would have won the Natty if they made the playoffs....
Hahaha you wish dude, bama was dog water and very inconsistent. Milroe needs experience. With 3 losses, you do not deserve to get in. They would have been boat raced. You can keep crying for Alabama case but unfortunately throwing a fit to get them in this year didn't work. You'd be saying the same if Ohio State had 3 losses. Bamas dominance is over for a few years at least

Juck we need some Juckeye Lunatic Fringe shirts 😂
I love this idea
@JuckOnBucks on a side note did I ever tell you that Will Howard was sporting the Run the Damn Ball hat for the team walk for Indiana?
Agree!
Great show brother
You didn’t disrespect Oklahoma at all 😂
Urbans teams were not firing on all cylinders when Ryan took over.
Juck justin Haynes signed with TTUN he was from Bama.
What about Lanning taking over for Mario.. Oregon was on the come up big time
like the video folks!
Fantastic idea guys let’s listen to Gatto before Mom gets mad at us
I was a big hater after we lost this year. If we win the natty this year I'm giving day 2 season to 1 correct it and then see if he can gain momentum.
I think things change for him in the game after he wins the natty
ONE pressure the entire freaking playoffs dafuqqq
Wins a Natty, he's got 10yrs
JUCK! The new Coverage in the Redzone 3rd/4th dn? I'm calling it a Box 11 --- it was insane --
ruclips.net/video/XEim8Efs_rQ/видео.html
I deep dive this Coverage - I've never seen anything like it - it enabled the pressure to get home both plays!
How about being the underdog if the opposition was cheating? Evidently amnesia has set in.
We're not the same team we were last time we faced them totally different
Juck, ND QB Riley had 233 yards passing against Penn State-you make me nervous when you say he can’t throw
Jethro Gibbs (NCIS) Rule #8 Take nothing for granted! (90 year old dad living with us watched it constantly) 😂
Didn’t Oklahoma win a title in 2000?
Beat ND
Juck I love the confidence but no rat poison. This team needs to prep for ND like no other team before
Nobody is listening to me 😂
If Michigan ruins this NC run.l for you, then you have a Michigan issue.
This doesn’t mean youre downgrading rivalry
Its gonna get ugly for nd in the second half
Don’t want to pay for Wilson a guy we could really really freaking use but I keep hearing shit about paying Ewers to come in..
Oh - first 2 plays - ruclips.net/video/oE4BDVYQXX4/видео.html - BIG PEOPLE!
LOL - love knowles!
Peoples is mediocre. Someone else is gonna have to step up
How can you say he’s mediocre when you’ve only seen him take a couple snaps😂
@ that’s true, he just doesn’t seem like the next henderson. Maybe more like judkins
I disagree. I don’t think he’s a huge difference maker but a quality Ohio State back. There aren’t many true difference maker backs out there. I think Isaiah West is the guy who we see take over a big role in the backfield early
We don’t need him Kenyatta Jackson , and Caden curry are just fine
He wasn’t going to be deployed like them
Awful take that he doesn’t deserve legend status if we wins a natty, terrible, it is the greatest rivalry ever, but a regular season game does NOT matter if we win a natty
can people stop saying ryan day is 0-4 against michigan? he’s 1-4 and he should honestly be 2-4, michigan basically forfeited 2020. both teams had players out but michigan used it as a excuse because of how embarrassing michigan lost to day the year prior. “0-4” people only say it to push a narrative. and also if day wins this natty natty their is a big case that ryan will go down as a better college coach then harbaugh. atleast at this point in ryan days ohio state career compared to harbaugh.
It’s very annoying to see 0-4
But I’ve stopped saying he should be 2-4 because I’m not giving him the benefit of the doubt in that cancelled game anymore.
@@JuckOnBucks but yeah i can see why a lot of people would think he would lose 2020 after we just saw that awful coaching job.
🌰🌰🌰
Ryan Day is not a legend unless he beats Michigan. Simple.
So how would y'all feel if Ryan Day wins a natty but then loses another game to Michigan so y'all run him out to a place like Texas A&M where he goes on to win 3 more Natty's. Would y'all be happy if whoever the new coach is
beats Michigan but can't win in the CFP and y'all keep watching Day stack Nattys at another school? It's crazy how y'all would cut your own nose to spite ya face, and give Michigan the last laugh by forcing y'all to fire a winning coach. Ohio State aint entitled to a thing. Pride comes before the fall.
Not everyone shares the same values as you. Half the Ohio State fanbase would rather win that game than a national championship. That’s a fact.
Absolutely not
Hahaha you wish dude, bama was dog water and very inconsistent.
@austinburgess8983 it's sarcasm...
Alabama sucks😂
Booom
