Idk if it's just me, but at 5:52 during the sound test both of the "models" has the earpiece between the cameras, when the iPhone 13 Pro Max actually had it moved all the way up to the top. So he was comparing two of the same phone? Even the bezel had the same gold colour.
I have the 12 pro max and watching this review I realized the differences which are kinda tempting specially the 120hz display but I prefer to keep having it until I see bigger differences in the future
I do not think it is worth upgrading from a 12 Pro Max . It is obviously more efficient but the video has issues . Cinematic mode is very unprecise . Better wait next year
17:34 Battery test is not fair. 12 Pro Max has sim card inserted and location services on compared to no sim card, location services on the 13 Pro Max. Location and sim takes a toll on battery life specially if the signal strength is low.

Goes to show what software can do. Im beyond interested in the Pixel 6 Pro. That phone may be the camera and battery champion this year. Apple definitely knew it was coming and had to step up this year.

The fact you tested and acknowledged the TERRIBLE screen dimming issue makes so SO HAPPY. I have a 12 pro max and I use it to mobile livestream. In the Florida heat and sun the screen on the 12 becomes so DARK it is unuseable and impossible to see the chat on the screen. I just got my 13 Pro Max today and am so HOPEFULL now that it will be better!!!

I’ve upgraded from the 12 pro max. I can do it through work so it doesn’t cost me anything. Would I recommend upgrading from 12 to 13 range? Absolutely not! Not at all unless you really want to. You will not get anything new and exciting except the pro motion. And in my opinion this is the best thing to happen to an iPhone and years overdue but do not upgrade just for this. In fairness to iPhone it’s by far the best experience on a 60hz screen anyway. On paper the cameras are better, did I notice? No! Did I notice the improvement with a15 bionic? No! Did I notice the difference with the smaller notch? Umm yes and no! It’s definitely smaller but apple does nothing with the extra space!!!!!! And because it’s only a very small gain it makes little to no difference when watching media. If they’d used the space to put a battery percentage I think this little attention to detail would have made all the difference. Will it come with a software update? Look this apple so I’d say no! On the plus side I didn’t notice the extra weight gain. If you are coming from an iPhone 8 downwards and perhaps an iPhone X you will absolutely benefit from what’s on the iPhone 13. If you’re on the 11, 12 no it’s the same phone. I’m no apple hater and I’m no apple lover , I will say it as it as I have access to all phones. Is iPhone 13 range the best out right now with its unmatched raw power and new cameras? No, nowhere near. The s21 ultra still beats the iPhone 13 range as does the z fold 3. And I have a sneaky feeling the pixel 6 pro will be better as well. But unfairness to apple the iPhone 13 pro max is still an absolute monster of a great phone. It’s by far the most powerful you’ll get right now and I think it will be until at least another two generations of android chips. Does apple make use of the abilities of this phone? Absolutely not!

Of course you shouldn’t upgrade. I have the 7 plus and I’m probably not gonna upgrade but I happened to see the 13 pro in the store and it’s the best looking iPhone I’ve seen. That’s the biggest marketing gimmick going that people feel impelled to upgrade there iPhone every year or 2. These phones aren’t cheap and you get almost no real benefit from one year to the next.

How, if any, is the difference when watching HDR content (Movies, videos etc+). I know both the 12 Pro max and 13 pro max got a 1200 nitts peak brightness, but the 13 Pro Max got a 1000 nitts sustained brightness through manual brightness. Is there much diff?

The only noticeable difference between both of them is 120Hz display because the camera, soc and battery isn't that far behind to call it a generational gap, not at least this year.

@Max Tech you just faked the speaker test. you are using the same 12 pro Max in both the scenarios. Check the ear piece position. On the 13 pro Max, it should be closer to the edge.
He probably mixed up the separated audio files if he's recording audio externally. I've seen other comparisons where they confirm the 13 is indeed louder so it still makes sense.
Now I wonder how that wobble is with a case? I don't want to end up scratching the camera when the protrusion is higher than the case tbh. If the phone falls as well with the back making contact with the ground, the camera protrusion can make contact first with the ground which may defeat the purpose of the case reducing direct impact on the phone's body?
When you did the speaker test. It seems that both phone’s speaker at the notch is at the same position. Shouldn’t the 13 pro’s speaker placed at the edge? And the 13 pro is still placed on the desk. To me shows that you just adjust the loudness on 1 of the phone to make it look like the “13 pro” is louder

This issue alone made me pretty much stick to samsung in the future. My 12 pro max randomly drops in brightness when I'm driving and I tried every possible fix.
Thank you for this video, now I'm completely sure that I will keep my 12 pro max until the 14 appears, I won't buy a fiasco like the 13 unless is like free or something. And the "cinematic" thing you can achieve with other apps by the way. Although you forgot something, the camera in night mode, that should be the real difference in the camera compared to the 12 pro max.

I loved the 12 pro max, but the screen dimming killed it for me, and i switched back to a s21 ultra. i didn't even have to be playing games, i could just be outdoors in the sun, and all of a sudden i cant see to send an imessage! 1 question though..does the 13 pro max eventually dim even further than the 80% if you're gaming long enough?

Did you notice that when he is testing the speakers, even though there is a difference in sound, the phone on the screen is the same? It doesn't look as if the iphone 13 was ever tested.
You should do a charging test for the 13s and 13 Pros with 20w, 25w and 30w chargers (esp for the pro max). The Anker nano pro and 30w vs Apple charger would be interesting.
Buddy put some description on every phone on screen while you making comparison... we don't know which one is which especially when you keep them screen up.
The iPhone 13 pro max screen is very yellow tinted, which makes the brightness looks lower than it’s precedent. We can clearly see it, but no RUclipsr really mention it!

I’m not a huge big Max person I like the standard size better but I want to try the bigger screen of the MAX before I knock it lol, so I decided to get the pro max. I've been upgrading for a few years now every year. But this year is the first time where i have the 12 pro max and i have no desire to switch to the 13 pro max. i've had phones before with 120hz so i'm not really impressed. I think i will wait for the 14 pro max this time.

I drive HGV & I use my 12 as my map, on hot days that phone would almost loose visibility, It was always charging & always on. I had to switch it off & put it in the fridge for a while to get it back to normal vision, but it didn’t last long, this will be a great help for me. Thanks for showing that heat section.

12:50 the iPhone 13 dimming is usable outdoors and that’s very good 😊 One group of people who will be excited are drone users (unless you use DJI Smart remote) this is because they look down on the phone while most camera users shoot vertical shots most of the time.
Slower SSD performance? I think they should be sued to for that. Why should I suffer performance and feature (ProRes) limitations if I don't want to pay extra for the storage I don't use half of. And why the storage size should mandate anything other than the actual size.

I notice during the speaker "test" the audio seem to cut back and forth but the visual remains the same, and besides it's cut at the drop..so maybe it's supposed to sound different in that bar?...am I seeing this right?
I have both of these phones but my main is definitely the 13 ProMax it just feels more premium because the weight and because its the newest. But I overall think the 13 ProMax is better because of the battery and the technology in there like the camera, processor, and like promotion.
I literally don’t notice the weight anymore and it actually feels sort of light due to the weight distribution since October 12 when I received it Large camera bump does not bother me at all

Dude the speaker test you were using the same phone footage. I can tell because the camera placement is the same and notch size is the same Edit: and the speaker placement is the same. Therefore you literally used the same phone
I’m using my Restone 12 Pro Max case just fine, but my Moment 12 Pro Max case does not fit the new camera bump. Very slight change in button position on the 13 Pro Max but they work fine on both cases.
Idk how your using your 12 pro max case, the camera is bigger meaning the rounded square (idk what to call it-) is bigger than on the 12 pro max, meaning your 12 pro max case wouldn’t fit your 13 pro max

As far as the lens bump is concerned, it depends on the tolerances of both the case manufacturer and the phone owner. YMMV
@@JimWiltschko i just got the 13 pro max, and my friend gave me her old case (12 pro max) bc she thought it would look cute with the sierra blue colour, which didn’t fit as the rounded square that the camera is on is bigger on the 13 pro max, as the lenses are bigger. We then thought it might be because the case was quite hard and not very bendy, so we tried her old flimsy case, which also didn’t fit. And the buttons have moved, they have shifted up, although its a rlly tiny change, a 12 pro max case wouldn’t fit. Honestly I don’t believe that your 12 pro max case fits your 13 pro max, but I don’t want to create an argument so I’m going to leave it as that.
I don’t know if it will change anything but Speedtest did not update for the 13 series yet because it just says iPhone unlike the 12 series where it will tell the name of the phone

Of course you shouldn’t upgrade. I have the 7 plus and I’m probably not gonna upgrade but I happened to see the 13 pro in the store and it’s the best looking iPhone I’ve seen. That’s the biggest marketing gimmick going that people feel impelled to upgrade there iPhone every year or 2. These phones aren’t cheap and you get almost no real benefit from one year to the next.

How, if any, is the difference when watching HDR content (Movies, videos etc+). I know both the 12 Pro max and 13 pro max got a 1200 nitts peak brightness, but the 13 Pro Max got a 1000 nitts sustained brightness through manual brightness. Is there much diff?

I'm planning to switch from an XS Max, but I'm torn between the 13 Pro Max and 12 Pro Max. The 12 is much cheaper now, and I don't know if the 13 is worth the extra money. Any suggestions?

The only noticeable difference between both of them is 120Hz display because the camera, soc and battery isn't that far behind to call it a generational gap, not at least this year.

I upgraded from a XS max to a 13 pro max definitely a big leap but I see a massive improvement in speed and camera quality and I absolutely love it

I think upgrading from a XS to a 12 pro will do it for me since the previous models get cheaper.

@Max Tech you just faked the speaker test. you are using the same 12 pro Max in both the scenarios.
Check the ear piece position. On the 13 pro Max, it should be closer to the edge.
He probably mixed up the separated audio files if he's recording audio externally. I've seen other comparisons where they confirm the 13 is indeed louder so it still makes sense.

Now I wonder how that wobble is with a case? I don't want to end up scratching the camera when the protrusion is higher than the case tbh. If the phone falls as well with the back making contact with the ground, the camera protrusion can make contact first with the ground which may defeat the purpose of the case reducing direct impact on the phone's body?
When you did the speaker test. It seems that both phone’s speaker at the notch is at the same position. Shouldn’t the 13 pro’s speaker placed at the edge? And the 13 pro is still placed on the desk. To me shows that you just adjust the loudness on 1 of the phone to make it look like the “13 pro” is louder

And the "cinematic" thing you can achieve with other apps by the way. Although you forgot something, the camera in night mode, that should be the real difference in the camera compared to the 12 pro max.

I loved the 12 pro max, but the screen dimming killed it for me, and i switched back to a s21 ultra. i didn't even have to be playing games, i could just be outdoors in the sun, and all of a sudden i cant see to send an imessage! 1 question though..does the 13 pro max eventually dim even further than the 80% if you're gaming long enough?

Did you notice that when he is testing the speakers, even though there is a difference in sound, the phone on the screen is the same? It doesn't look as if the iphone 13 was ever tested.
You should do a charging test for the 13s and 13 Pros with 20w, 25w and 30w chargers (esp for the pro max). The Anker nano pro and 30w vs Apple charger would be interesting.
Buddy put some description on every phone on screen while you making comparison... we don't know which one is which especially when you keep them screen up.
The iPhone 13 pro max screen is very yellow tinted, which makes the brightness looks lower than it’s precedent. We can clearly see it, but no RUclipsr really mention it!

I drive HGV & I use my 12 as my map, on hot days that phone would almost loose visibility, It was always charging & always on. I had to switch it off & put it in the fridge for a while to get it back to normal vision, but it didn’t last long, this will be a great help for me. Thanks for showing that heat section.

Slower SSD performance? I think they should be sued to for that. Why should I suffer performance and feature (ProRes) limitations if I don't want to pay extra for the storage I don't use half of. And why the storage size should mandate anything other than the actual size.

I want to know more than just the cameras. I like how he goes into depth about the speeds. But I’d also like to know about the call quality and reception. My 12 pro max didn’t pick up good at my work but s21 does. I’d like to go back to iPhone but reception is important to me.

I notice during the speaker "test" the audio seem to cut back and forth but the visual remains the same, and besides it's cut at the drop..so maybe it's supposed to sound different in that bar?...am I seeing this right?
I have both of these phones but my main is definitely the 13 ProMax it just feels more premium because the weight and because its the newest. But I overall think the 13 ProMax is better because of the battery and the technology in there like the camera, processor, and like promotion.
My iPhone 13 pro just arrived yesterday and it’s a pretty big upgrade from my previous iPhone XS.
I literally don’t notice the weight anymore and it actually feels sort of light due to the weight distribution since October 12 when I received it

Dude the speaker test you were using the same phone footage. I can tell because the camera placement is the same and notch size is the same

I’m using my Restone 12 Pro Max case just fine, but my Moment 12 Pro Max case does not fit the new camera bump. Very slight change in button position on the 13 Pro Max but they work fine on both cases.
Idk how your using your 12 pro max case, the camera is bigger meaning the rounded square (idk what to call it-) is bigger than on the 12 pro max, meaning your 12 pro max case wouldn’t fit your 13 pro max

As far as the lens bump is concerned, it depends on the tolerances of both the case manufacturer and the phone owner. YMMV
@@JimWiltschko i just got the 13 pro max, and my friend gave me her old case (12 pro max) bc she thought it would look cute with the sierra blue colour, which didn’t fit as the rounded square that the camera is on is bigger on the 13 pro max, as the lenses are bigger. We then thought it might be because the case was quite hard and not very bendy, so we tried her old flimsy case, which also didn’t fit. And the buttons have moved, they have shifted up, although its a rlly tiny change, a 12 pro max case wouldn’t fit.
Honestly I don’t believe that your 12 pro max case fits your 13 pro max, but I don’t want to create an argument so I’m going to leave it as that.
I don’t know if it will change anything but Speedtest did not update for the 13 series yet because it just says iPhone unlike the 12 series where it will tell the name of the phone
