HI Charlie. In my market I can usually dash anytime but sometimes have to wait a few minutes if it is gray. I have a 12% acceptance rate with DD I just will not take those under $5 orders, I had a rare weekend here in Central Indiana. Very cold weather I think kept people in, I was out Friday night and first order was a $39..40 Uber order for 5 Guys. I was suspicious of the great order for about 10 miles 2 drop offs, I waited 25 minutes for the order from 5 guys as it was a huge order for a crew at the Amazon warehouse. I delivered the order and they gave aa $41 tip and there was surge pay for Uber and the total was $55 for 1 one order, That is the biggest order I ever had. There kept being surge pay for Uber and a few good ones from door Dash but for about 4 hours of work I made $117 and the orders continued on Saturday night for 3 hours for $93 and for 2 hours tonight for $67. I have no idea how next weekend will go, If you ever get one of these banger weekends enjoy and remember when it is back to normal with the usual bad orders.

Said there should be a screen that asks “Are You Sure?” instead of automatically ending it! It’s happened to me in the past and it definitely sucks! And I agree with you about the constant CONFIRM screen. Changes to the End Dash or where it’s placed on the screen is one of the changes they should’ve worked on instead of all the goofiness they’ve added recently.
I have done the same thing by accident, funny how there is no confirm when you end or delete a dash but have to hit ten buttons when finishing an order.
Get back to platinum and keep scheduling ,it saves a spot, plus remember, scheduling ahead of time has always been first priority in their system over dash now.
I've been mixing in Shipt the last few weeks, still yr+ on waiting list for Spark and Instacart, did a Shipt order yesterday going 2.5 miles from store for $20 and they gave me $25 tip for less than an hour from start to finish and mixed in a $6 DD on way to drop that added 1/2 mile to drive.
I did that once. I accidently hit end dash instead of pause. I was very fortunate though. I was still able to receive orders after hitting the dash now. I was very lucky at that time.
So far I haven't been asked for a PLU while shopping. I find that weird since while we're in different zones, it's the same market, and we both shop at Safeway-Albertsons in the same region for them. Theoretically, if you miss a scheduled shift, there's no penalty. You also can cancel at any time without penalty. The only problem is if you don't start your Dash within a half hour of your scheduled time because then they drop you from the schedule, and if it's gray, you can't get on. IMHO, even if you were platinum, it's a good idea to schedule if your zone isn't busy. Theoretically there's a limited number of slots open, so if you fill one (even if you didn't need to), that keeps someone else off the road, leaving more orders for you. Sounds selfish, but if that's what you need to do to get the orders you need, it's self-survival.
Ya I used to do that all the time. Now I am so careful handling the phone when paused. They won't add a "are you sure" function as they don't want you pausing to begin with
One thing that also helps is scheduling while on platinum puts you at higher priority for better orders, we shouldn't forget, Dash Now has always been the bottom priority to scheduling ,since scheduling does put us all in a better spot on their system when the system rolls out orders
I schedule myself multiple shifts a day in case something comes up or if I accidentally end my dash. My market is definitely oversaturated & it is extremely hard to get on same-day, unless it's the dinner rush.
My area has $900 referral bonus going on right now. If I don't schedule I can get on during lunch or dinner with it being busy, but Saturday or Sunday mornings until about 11 is about no chance to get on if you don't schedule.
I still schedule even on Platinum because one time I got up and it had me knocked off Platinum because I was two rides short in the rolling hundred days. I always schedule now encase that happens again.
Has any other dasher noticed a "No data" on their On time rating? My android version has been borked since a few days ago. BTW, when trying to schedule on silver and up, you have to wait until your preferred zone is pink or red in order to build your schedule. If gray, only if another driver deletes their dash time in my experience and you have to keep checking constantly every 15 to 30 minutes. It's a Pain In The Arse aka PITA.
While you may have ended the DD block prematurely, but the UE orders that came in were high quality. Much prefer those 10+ / 30+ than the DD small orders.

Your Safeway has problems. My Safeway they give you the liquor bottle and walk away. Do not need to take it upfront for you. I would love a safeguard for the accept button. I have been holding my phone and start to fall asleep and have accidentally hit the accept button. Had to do a horrible food pickup for 2.31. I was so pissed.
The schedules open at two specific times. If you are in a teir that has early access scheduling then they will open at 3pm local time on the 5th day away on the schedule. If you keep your AR low like me then you have to achedule 9 hours after the early people at midnight as the 6th day rolls in to become the 5th day. There is a new pilot program I've seen around where it opens on different days for different tiers too, but that isn't very widespread yet. Find out when your schedules open and aet an alarm on your phone to go off one or two minutes before that so you can open the app and schedule any hours you want.
This...also schedule in small blocks. I schedule 2-3 hours with a 30 minute gap then another 2-3 hours. If you accidentally end dash or something comes up, your whole day isn't wasted.
What I did at the beginning..... schedule hour long chunks throughout your dash. Then you can screw up and close dash and be back up within an hour. 👍 ❤️ you have to put a break in between dash times or they become 1 dash
I am all 3 apps ..UE, GG, DD...and they are all equally busy or slow in the san Francisco bay area...I attempt to keep DD at AR at 80 at least which means I can dash anytime however it can still be slow...at least u can have access to app at all times ...but having all apps available the best....I was demoted to silver when my completion rate went down to 94% has to be 95 or above ...got it up in one day means u gotta accept some low paying jobs however DD pays a pretty decent prop 22 once a week so def worth it....Good luck to u enjoy watching 😊

Schedule 6 days in advance at 3pm, set an alarm so you remember. I think they map is grey way more if your not platinum.

i did that before i was trying to hit extend dash , hit a bump and ended it and no more slots open 😭

Today first time I was asked to confirm when I ended my dash. Also noticed it says add time instead of extend dash. They must of heard you.
I got that last night, confirm ending dash. Finally they added that!!!! Bout Time.
Get on spark. ⚡️ the shopping orders are keeping me alive while DoorDash pays half as much as it used to
On my DoorDash it now does make you confirm to end your dash
Any Uber order over $10 that is a borderline take I will accept as I've found tip goes up more often than not.
11$ seems to be the magic number on Uber. As long as the milage isn't over 10mi it goes up 90% of the time.
