I'm 71 love gig work don't love stupid drivers out there cutting in front of me, etc etc never a dull day out there and must be aware of all surroundings and u only get around that is to be an experienced driver...I'm on alert the entire time I'm driving...love watching ur videos!!
I can’t figure out what triggers the extra out of zone payment. I only get it about 20% of the time they send me out of zone on EBT. They have got to stop sending people out of the delivery area they select.
I had two orders at Buffalo wild wings north of boston that were taken in one note and another diver. Had issue.1 a driver takes unassigned 2 store mislabeled. 3 customer picks up 4 driver did not mark arrived.
In Miami, Florida, you cannot even take one step before they ask you to confirm and that’s in every single restaurant. The only place we don’t have to confirm right away is in Total Wine.
$200 for 20 deliveries until 12/20. Basically, trying to pay drivers what they should have been making all along. This must be their idea of holiday bonus. I’m sure they’ll find a way to stack orders full and get real skimpy when close to finishing it like in the past. Pure manipulation, it’s like working for narcissists.
High pressure marketing is the Problem with Doordash and its the source of problems for the customer waiting two hours for their orders on Triple stacked routes, with 40 shopping items and ice cream.
So, did you actually read the local story? She was at a friend's house and snuck out of the house. She was using her mother's account but her parents didn't "let" her get in the car and go do deliveries. It doesn't take much to "borrow" an account, given that most of us don't log out after each use. All I have to do is tap on the DD app and up it pops. Same with all my other gig apps. I'm a mom to three now-adult children. They do stupid sh!t, and it's not always the parents' fault. Don't become a tabloid and spin tales just to get your point across. If DD wants to stop this type of stuff, they, and other apps, need to have an automatic log out and identity verification upon first use of the day. Put the blame where it belongs and not on a fantastical tale that you made up to spin your point. I thought you were better than that with the information you provide.
I’ve personally had 2 times when I’ve had to cancel a delivery after I’d picked up the order, alternator went out half way through the parking lot and a rear end collision because an idiot thought I should go through a red light, and I’m sure the merchant had to remake the order. If your vehicle decides to die suddenly or someone hits you, you kinda can’t deliver the food no matter how much you want to do your job. There should be a way for DoorDash to let the merchant know that it wasn’t theft, there was an accident or something, that way the good honest dashers don’t get blamed for the bad dashers B.S. behavior. And I agree that account sharing shouldn’t happen, because what if someone gets mad and decides to trash the other’s account for revenge.
That "confirm pickup" in front of the vendor is common here due to too many people stealing food. Locally, it appears it is friends of the recipient grabbing the food just saying "Picking up the DoorDash for..." So unsure if they even ARE Dashers. Good way to get twice the food, I guess? (As in I was the listed dasher, but it was already picked up by SOMEONE...) They will also ask to see the screen on my phone to confirm the names match... I am fine with having to show them the app is functioning/not just some screenshot or not even a functioning app in the phone. Would be better if people were being HONEST, but it is what it is. (This is also why nobody uses those pickup shelves locally anymore. People would just walk in a take a bag and walk out...food bag lunch roulette, I guess!
There was no account sharing. The kid swiped it without anyone's knowledge. DD needs to have an auto log out and account verification upon using if they want to crack down on it.
If the girl took a car without parents knowing, high chance she snuck access to DD account on her phone, or possibly had access from going out with mom doing DD in thr past. I know I used one of my kids phone for a few weeks when Android account was on the blink.
If you have parents around or guardians, remember them at Christmas 🎄 or any lonely 😞 old souls! Not sure your situation there. I only have in laws, my immediate family. Be careful! I just had my car 🚙 totaled this week from a deer 🦌 for the apps, so yeah. Scared the hell out of me when all the airbags deployed. The airbag damage alone he said would have been over $6000, he said-maybe $8000. My car wasn’t even worth that much. It sucks! I had a second car, but my husband let my son take it, and he is so busy w college & work, I can’t really take it back now. That is a shame about the girl who passed away. Wear your seatbelts, Dashers!
Sad story about the teen dasher. Rest in peace. Hate to see stories like that. Be careful out there. A dollar 50 tip is basically a screw you. I got tipped 25 cents once while working hospitality in Hawaii.
The mcdonalds on broadway leaves orders rigjt on counter and walks away. 2 orders stolen inb2 days. I also dont deliver past 9pm. The door dashers are insane, sliding through lanes. DD creates competition between us drivers and its BS
Doordash seems to be harrassing me to take 100 deliveries per 30 days while they shut down my home town constantly over AR, its a matter of am i doing big shopping order or tiny .5 mile trips, its nonsense metrics.
What are you even talking about?? Do you think her parents allowed her to take her acct and drive her car? She snuck out and did it! And I’m sure her parents are sick and blaming themselves for her death! Shame on you for spewing BS that her parents were “allowing” her to do it. And hitting “confirm” when you pick up an order is too difficult? Maybe this isn’t the job for you. I prefer to hit confirm so that the customer knows a possible delay in delivery was the restaurant’s delay. No out of zone pay here. NJ. And I drive out of zone for most orders
Terrible about the young girl killed dashing. You and I may be older and come from a time when you COULD find those odd jobs to make some money, but the situation in some regions is vastly different now. Where I am, government sponsored mass immigration has crushed the entire employment landscape for all ages. It may have been impossible for her to do anything else.
The lack of driving experience isn't the only or even the biggest reason people under 18 or 21 shouldn't do DoorDash. They can subcontract out the driving. The GigTuber Ride Along with Bri subcontracts out the driving to her husband sometimes. Bri picks up the orders and drops them off while he just drives. It's actually a bit safer because that lets her to focus only on the app while he focuses only on driving. But a person who hasn't had much experience around drunk and/or high adults, scammers, and a-holes shouldn't be delivering orders on DoorDash. DoorDash could crack down on this situation of shared Dasher accounts and rented accounts by Having Dashers holding their IDs beneath their chins in the photo verification, Asking the merchants to card Dashers, And Offering customers discounts for taking photos of Dashers on Meet at Door orders.
Ebt time in my area gives you about 10 a hr since its active time not really by hr. The orders are horrific any status. I was plat til i got 14 2 dollar orders in a row. If you can go to spark save yourself some stress waiting hrs for low paying offers even as plat. Doordash in my area maybe 25 30 in 2 hrs va spark 60 for the same time.
wait you can block a dasher? man oh man ima about to walk into my favorite waste of AR and ask to be blocked. no more waiting in wing stop for 30 mins plus, no more 6 dollar McDonalds offers, no more 10 plus mile Wendy's drive. block me please i beg you local five guys that only start the orders after you tell them who order your picking up. also i bet that guy probably reported he was in a wreck or flat tire. we don't need to start pushing doordash away from reporting stuff like that it's there for a reason and if their really stealing food it always comes back on them.
Door dash and the merchant knows who.origibally picked up the order so I agree to a point butnat the same time if a good driver picks up the order and the customer lies and says they never got the order then what donu do to that good driver? Do u block them?
Bah hum bug this year !!! Dd has been horrible this week. I’m going out for dinner rush on this 3.00 promo and try again . My AR is now 24 percent smdh all these long mile and low pay orders get declined asap
Parents of the teenager said they didn't know what she was doing, I say that's next to impossible, the mother had to teach her then let her drive at 3 a.m, you run into some crazy fools sometimes, I once found a crack head in my car, once had some girl beating on my window wanting in, another women who actually opened my door in traffic, homeless guys following me to my car, how does the teen collect the money thats on the account
She was spending the night at a friend's house and snuck out. I used to do that all the time. I will concede to the fact that it wasn't well thought out because, you're right, I don't know how the kid thought she was going to get the money. But bottom line, she was a teen, a young teen, and they do dumb things and don't think. I can't imagine blaming my mother for all the stupid assinine things I did as a teenager. It was me, myself, I and a bunch of friends who made the decisions while our parents were none the wiser (in an era before cell phones and the internet).
First off still done dashing after 2 days and not missing it. Second I believe every should have some sort of confirmation with merchant at pickup and customer on delivery. Last, as tragic as it is I don’t see any blame towards Doordash. Why is a 15 year old kid able to steal parents passwords and car and also knows how to Doordash. And I would say why does a 15 year old need to make money to buy Christmas presents. Something off on this story.
That’s a good question for the places you don’t want to pick up from trashy establishments. I imagine you will be in violation if you block too many places cuz it looks like you are stealing or violating.
or you trust the restaurants and then the order they made you confirm before you looked at it and then theyre saying thats the wrong order or it missing a part. 😂😂

Spin the wheel at Dd and that's what they do lol😂
Yep I agree I have seen people that can't speak English they have to use a translator app to talk to the stores to pick up food .
Me: I’m going to stay calm today no matter what happens.
2 hours later: wtf is this driver doing, go!
I had two orders at Buffalo wild wings north of boston that were taken in one note and another diver. Had issue.1 a driver takes unassigned 2 store mislabeled. 3 customer picks up 4 driver did not mark arrived.
I drive in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Go out of zone frequently. Haven’t seen the extra pay yet
No out of zone pay here in NOVA either...
That story of the 15 year old girl Is just heartbreaking
