Harley dealerships and Harley's warranty is a joke. Not talking this exact situation but they both try to weasel out of anything

Yes, it has been a sad state of affairs for the last 4-5 years. Not so bad with the FTC ruling just a month ago. See video on that here- ruclips.net/video/M-QdwkZ3_RQ/видео.html
Here is the warranty that many of us use, it works well, no hassles.- ruclips.net/video/p8U4XsHyBug/видео.html

This is why you either do it yourself, or buy a bike that is already has the ergonomics you want. If you have to pay a dealer to do everything then you either have more money than most, or you are always going to be motorcycle poor with a Harley. What other bike manufacturer charges $20,000 to $45,000 for a motorcycle that you still have to spend thousands to make its work the way it should have come from the factory.

I would've thanked the dealer for fixing the other installers screw up and then ask how much I owe

Yeah, the principle of being responsible for your actions seems like a foreign concept to many.

@@talkingrock7011 also enjoyed the last vid I watched when hoodie started throwin out gravity/ barometric value numbers etc. And Kevin was like what.... that was funny and impressive. I wish I could deal with automotive service managers that are actually tuned in and as smart as Hoodie seems. I'm a 38yr Automotive Transmission Mechanic and most service guys are halt my age and not near as smart. Anyway always great vids.

Good info always. I would strongly urge,
everyone to read their owners manual first before doing any work on their bikes/ trikes. If it is not clear ,call your local dealer, this may save you from using a lot of bad words and hard feelings. When in doubt RTFM

Good Vid guys. But when you said "Story time w/ Hoodie" I went and grabbed a beer! Aww man, I know he's got better stories than Harley's warranty lol! Ok, maybe next time. DK ROCKS!!!

Yeah, that was the most boring of the bunch. I think we have 3 or 4 more. One is about how Japan saved Harley back half a century ago. I'd never heard about that before.

I can attest to a few things ... the key to not being frustrated as an owner is finding a Service Department that has truly been educated in the warranty process , Service Advisors that keep the lines of communication open, honest, and consistent and Clearly states the customers expectations , realistic time-lines on repairs and various authorizations etc .... I used to tell my guys and gals in Service Advisor positions that communication is key ....I believe that a customer should not have to call and get updates on their bike ... it's OUR RESPONSIBILITY to keep them updated when the bike has moved through each phase from intake to exodus ....

  • @paulhood7316

I always got permission from my guests to move ahead with the repair of any warranty issues in advance so that the expectation was set ( the Trans oil transfer issue was a big one for a while ) for extended service time ... Nothing sets the mood like your oil change turned into a 3 hour inner primary vent install and the guest was planning on an hour of down time .... covered or not we would have unfairly and unnecessarily altered some ones whole day due to lack of communication not setting the expectation that we very possibly could find the condition present during the oil change and, if we do, would the client care if we got pre Auth to move forward with the warranty repair, or choose to document the condition and schedule a 1000 mile fluid check for verification THEN schedule the procedure .....
It's the little things that make the difference ....

Thank you, glad you enjoyed. This was not a warranty issue, this was a "installed it wrong because the installer did not follow the directions in the manual issue".
However, good warranties from MFG. are not so common. Even with HD's warranty improving with the FTC coming down on them last month, it still is lacking.
