G'day Mark, I hope you are well.
Yeah, I bought myself a new car recently, 98 Toyota Corolla Conquest hatchback 5-speed manual 1.8 litre Twin-cam Inline 4. Colours, Purple.
She absolutely flies like a rocket.
I do have quite a few videos on my channel that you may be interested in checking out some point. Cheers take care.

I’ll have to catch up on those videos William. Congratulations on the new car. Enjoy it 👍
@NorthOz Will do thanks mate 👍
Was looking at one of the new 2.8 single cabs. Just can't bring myself to spend 92k for such a basic car, especially with a 4 cylinder. The V8 could be justified some what. Government and mining is the reason these are so expensive and they don't mind paying the price and Toyota knows it. Just makes it too expensive for private buyers.
Completely agree. I don’t see the value proposition for the 4 cylinder. After owning 2 vehicles with that engine and transmission, I was ready to move on to something different. I also didn’t pay $90k as well so that helps 👍
@@NorthOz $90 k auz$ =$61k U.S. id buy a 70 series at that price something utilitarian ,we have $100k U.S. bronco /F150 raptors . ram trx . 393 wrangler s ..... we do have the new LC 250/prado , Lexus GX550 ... our best gen 5 4Runner TRD OFF ROAD OR TRD PRO
Great vid, Mark! I note you mentioned the Oz Grips guy was a former student of yours - out of interest, what do you teach?
Thank you! I teach Health and Physical Education to high school students 👍
Awesome mate cape York ready!!
Absolutely! 👍 Thanks for the comment legend
What happens if you upgrade your tyres, doesnt look like much room for your spare
Good question, heaps of room for a 35+. I just need Pete at PSE fabrications to cut me a new rod that goes through the mount and we are good to go 👍
What happened to the hilux?
Sold it for this. Sorry mate
@@NorthOz it’s ok as long as your happy
The narrow rear axle i carnt stand and now a little 4cl wont get 1 million kays out of it and they are still expensive too , i won't be buying a new one , are u seeing this Toyota , yes Toyotas are reliable but its life span is cut in half now , not a good investment now
buy few yrs older so if the panels get banged up . find one with out salt water rust
That engine bay is so dirty
That’s because I drive off-road. She’s no pavement princess
@@NorthOz man I was joking mate I worked pipeline with the older 79 Mabe like 2015 if a truck looked that clean we would think the persons not working mate
Great video as usual
Mark
As you said in the video the next upgrades is Rims and tyres especially if you intend to do vic high country definitely need more than cheese cutters as you said.
Cheers mate
Paul
Thanks Paul, absolutely. Before i head off next year I’ll definitely have a lift, wheels, tyres and winch ready to go 👍
