Shoutout to Taylor @Flowstate. He is one of the ESTPs who are the best at showing and articulating what that type is all about. He seems, more than many other online MBTI content creators, to be able to leave aside his type’s theoretical generalities and stereotypes and present a more bias-free version of himself. This is not easy and I find it so very refreshing, so I for one appreciate it a lot. From a big type nerd, and an INTP with yet another opinion nobody asked for😂 Also, my two sons are INTJ and ESTP, so this got ‘real’ fast.
Yeah bias can be a huge issue for us content creators, which is why it's honestly so great to see examples of avoiding it being done so well. - From another big type nerd, and an INTJ, who also had not had their opinion requested 🙃
What about Taylor is not a stereotype? I mean, in a way I think he's the perfect representation of an ESTP as he is just so ESTP as can be? In a way I would say he is stereotypical. However, maybe we are talking about different stereotypes, cause a good stereotype is a person who clearly acts in a way that is expected?
@@PowerRedBullTypology I didn’t state my point clearly, sorry: Yes, I fully agree he is a great representation of at least what my understanding is of the ESTP stereotypes. My point instead was: from watching Taylor in multiple MBTI videos, he stands out as somehow being able in his theoretical discussions to ‘rise above’ his type’s stereotypes and doesn’t seem to ‘get stuck’ in those as much as, frankly, quite many other MBTI online personalities out there. Perhaps particularly in the format of Joyce’s interviews/ discussions, where over the years some folks do succumb slightly to weighing too heavily into their type’s stereotypes (which certainly would be hard to avoid for anybody). Said differently: while many tend to heavily filter their answers through the theory to the point where one can almost follow the thread of which exact cognitive functions they had in mind when responding, Taylor just seems pretty good at just generally looking within himself for more authentic and ‘real’ parts of his psyche. Which I find refreshing.
I really miss these old panels! They aren't done nearly as much these days and often delve into interesting conversation, it's also a nice change from the shallow, all too common short form video that everyone else puts out these days. Here's to more if ya got the time! 🍻 -- some estp guy
This panel has been very interesting. I believe I have INTP preferences, so listening to the way Se and Ni doms approach life is so incredibly foreign to me. I've been able to put together a mental picture of Ni but I haven't figured out how to articulate Se, which is one of the ways I know I haven't grasped something sufficiently. Not surprising if I have blindspot Se. I'll go back and watch some of the past interview panels with Se-users and see if that helps my understanding of that polarity.
Oh boy, a panel! I'll have to check this out. I'd love to take part in one of these. Maybe one day. Btw, so fun to see early vids from RUclipsrs and how they progress. So fun seeing how far you've come. Hope my own journey will be half as successful. 🤗
That is fascinating, about the inner monologue and ones’s relationship or attitude towards it. When I am driving solo, or if I am able to do physical activity that is a bit repetitive or autopilot-like, I tend to have conversations with myself, or with imagined versions of people in my head, as an INFP, consciously working out ideas or issues. I just have to be careful not to completely zone out physically, otherwise I might trip or crash. 😂
Yeah when Si is on autopilot, it seems Ne can have thoughts have that nothing to do with the sensory in the moment. Big diffference between the axises Ni/Se and Ne/Si
@@PowerRedBullTypology I would say that my Ne is usually having thoughts related to a recent environmental trigger. It has a lot to do with a recent moment, idea, or situation that has come up, creating a springboard of thoughts, oftentimes in many directions. It is not quite as in the moment as Se, but it has to do with a recent moment or current surface thoughts in consciousness. I have to actively attend to the thoughts, or else I could easily forget them, like waking from a dream. I find those with Ni can keep multiple concepts and perspectives in their working memory, much better than I can. My Ne thought process is more like a sprinter than a marathoner.
@@PowerRedBullTypology Also, for Ni-leads, I thought they might have their own version of physical autopilot leading to a sudden flash of insight, seemingly from nowhere, as they let some problem sit in the back of consciousness, percolating… but I am not completely sure. Whereas my own Ne-monkey brain has all kinds of random thoughts simultaneously. I am wondering how the physical moment is connected, if at all, to Ni-Dom thoughts.
When I bought my house a year ago, the front yard was just a pile of little rocks between the sidewalk and the trees along the front yard fence. As I was deciding that I wanted to buy the house, I could already 'see' in my mind that one of my long term goals, having an ephemeral streambed wildflower garden. I could see that the yard at this house could be a place where I could make that happen. The gentle, north facing slope. The sandy loam soil, etc. just lent itself to what I was looking for. In the last year and a half, I have been gradually working toward it. Getting the topography changed a little bit to form the stream channel, laying out the in-line drip irrigation tubing, broadcast planting native plant seeds, etc. all has been done with this end goal in mind. I think in another two years, I will have the ephemeral streambed garden established. Once I reach that goal, I'll switch over to another long term gardening goal of making the back yard into a vegetable garden. I've made a few steps toward the vegetable garden in the back yard as opportunities arise (like when someone had a pile of mulch that they wanted to give away), but my main focus and energy that I have in my spare time has been going mainly to the front yard because I know it will take longer to establish the wildflower garden than it will to establish the vegetable garden, especially since the previous owners had already built raised beds in the back yard. Before I even touched a tool to get started on any of this, I sat down with scaled drawing of the property and drew out the front yard flowerbeds, figured out the percentage of the slope, researched the soil type and chemistry, researched which wildflowers would grow well where I am, etc. Then, I was ready to dig trenches, move rock around etc. That's a glimpse into the Ni mindset. For me, reliability is so important to me. I need routine. I need things to change slowly and seldom. I need people in my life who I can depend upon. Most of the time, I live in my own mind. I live in the future and tend to daydream a lot. It's handy for being a writer because I can envision the story before I even write it down. Not so handy for dealing with real-life change and problems. On top of being an Ni dom, INFJ or Ennegram 5w4, I'm also autistic so it's a double whammy. The inside of my mind looks like a sportsbook, only the screens are showing different thoughts, ideas, memories, etc. Different ones take center stage on the main screen, but all of them are going at once and I switch from looking at one screen to another rather quickly sometimes. I live in Las Vegas, so I do sometimes go to sportsbooks to watch football or baseball games that I don't get at home. I seldom go to the busy, noisy crazy parts of town that people think of when they think of Las Vegas. Most of the time, I am either home working or tinkering with hobbies or I am going on walks in parks, gardens, etc. When I'm out walking around, most of the time I'm kinda daydreaming and only half paying attention to where I am anyway.
It’s amazing to watch how Joyce changes the speed and intensity of her speech to match the Se Si guys. She is even copying their hand jester. INFJ, neat.
ESTPs and INFJs are like two sides of the same coin. They both ask probing questions, trying to understand others and look for justifications. They can see people as they could be and also as they truly are. Both Taylor and Joyce do this frequently. ESFPs and INTJs are like two sides of the same coin. Both are passionate about their interests and want others to be passionate about those things too. They both seek respect or want to be the best in their endeavors and look for a sense of satisfaction.
Don’t be fooled, the INTJ is the most competitive one here…. They aren’t like one upping their peers in the real world, but when it comes to their drive for progress they live above the line of competition and drive the whole world to progress only when necessary😂😂😂😂😂. Joyce this helped me too, definitely an ENFP hahah 😂. The amount of times I’ve driven somewhere and forgotten that I did. Or, I’ve actually noticed that when I imagine a future activity, the imagining is always better to me so much so that I’ll arrive at something I’ve planned and have already experienced it in my mind enough that I’m almost already done processing it and normally a little bored by the experience since it was better in my head and on to the next ideas Ahha. My inner monologue is 2-4 conversations, music in the background and a movie timeline of time I can jump down into. And imagining the past in history and the future, with a disco ball😂. I wish Ne meant that thoughts just floated in and out ouch Joyce 😂❤…it’s the opposite. We have the same pull as Ni users just like over several points and it’s the movie “Everything Everywhere All At Once”. Wow, Michaels good!!! Cool vibes haha.
So stoked! I miss these kind of panels

Came here for MBTI, left with Michael's music playing on Spotify. What happened? Se all the way baby. Thanks Joyce and everyone on the panel. (INFJ)
Chris has exactly the same mannerism, facial expressions and communication pattern with a person I know who's also INTJ.
Michales music is really beautiful- (INFJ)! A great panel and discussions!!!
Enjoyable; the song too, well done
that music at the end tho. michaels definitely a 💯. artiste!
Wonderful chat 🤍
I learn the most from these panels. It really helps me see the differences between types. Thank you!
I love this!! So great!
Awesome stuff!
Thank you! I was rather surprised at how awesome Michael's music is. Didn't see that coming. Wow, he is talented.

Great video Joyce. I’m taking on what Chris said and just saying yes more. 😊

Please bring Taylor on more, he made me laugh a lot!

Joyce, I was wondering if you could do a video on inferior functions and how they might manifest in romantic relationships?
