Great first look at this years new features Colin. Do you know if Adobe have fixed the problem where you try to `remove people` if they are near a sign or other text/lettering, because in Beta if you removed people and there was text or signs around the people you were trying to remove, it seemed to `mash` that part of the photo up?

Thank you so much. It has been bugging me why it has been editing in Photoshop Beta. I now have it fixed, thanks to you. Lots of other helpful info as always!!!
Hi. Just did the update. There seems to be a bug? in the new remove tool using AI on or auto AI. Selecting the section to remove results in an error message (send a report) and PS closes down. This happens with a raw file or dng. It works fine with AI off. After testing on a number of files it appears to be an intermittent issue...sometimes it works other times not. In some cases it produces a grey opaque blotch where the section to be removes is. Using win 10 PC...plenty of ram and latest Nvidia drivers. Thoughts?
thanks Colin 👍 if your ever in contact with the big wigs at Adobe, can you plead with them to put HSL readout in the the histogram box! Ive been asking for years, and could be done so easily... would make correcting for skin tones so easy, as you only need to hit one number, kinda like how Davinci has a skin tone line in the scopes.
Great info and talent here! Quick question, does anyone know if the Ai tools can repeat a specific thing or character over and over again? Example: If I had a story about an old man holding a balloon, am I able to save and recreate the same old man holding a sandwich instead? Or driving a car? Liked and Subscribed!! Much appreciated, Mr. Smith!!
i'd like to see a comprehensive video on creating text on a path. i've watched a lot of videos on how to do this and when I try the text jumps all over the place and sometimes disappears completely. I do get the idea of a start and end point markers but when I try to replicate the video I don't get the same results.
Thanks, as always for your tutorials. I have a question, do I need to use generative expand in Beta? It doesn’t seem to work in the current PS. Also I’m using it on an AI image, would that make a difference? Thanks in advance for any help.
It keeps telling me that the upgrade failed since yesterday. Any idea what I should do?! Do I need to delete the previous version? I opted for that a couple of times but it made no difference. Thanks.
how to change number of variations in generative fill in ps 2025? I only have one option and not the 3. I know I can resubmit but would prefer to see more than one at a time. Thanks
Hi Colin Thank you very much for this video tutorial on the new features of Adobe Photoshop. You really do wonderful tutorials. Pat Hogarty from El Dorado Hills California.
Thank you, Colin. I would love to update but first I would like to be sure that Adobe has fixed the mixer brush problem that was caused by the previous two updates. These updates made the mixer brush basically unusable for artists that rely on it for their work. Do you know if the mixer brush is back to the way it worked in version 25.9.1? I have had to waste time installing and uninstalling because of this issue.
I have had Gen Fill do a decent job of this by telling it to 'Remove reflections' in the prompt. It was one of those, I don't know if it will work, but it is worth a try situations.
what should we do for PS 2024 version? the old LUTS and actions are located in previous versions of PS not in the PS 2025 folders. and what happen if we delete the PS 2024, will our old actions and luts be gone ?
Great video but sadly nothing I would love to see in Photoshop 2025, too many remove features and AI generative stuff but very little updates to things I use in Photoshop. Truly thought Parametric filters would make it into the full release by now, been in the public beta since whenever
@@photoshopcafe Better repeat features such as in Affinity Photo, better pattern creation (again, something in Affinity), improvements to the brushes, effects more like AE tools, more type features would be great, would love to see the neural filters actually finished off as many have been in the waiting for ages, 3D to be back within Photoshop and so much more. AI features really leave me cold, perhaps it is just me. And as mentioned, parametric filters, seem to be in a holding state for ages and ages and I can't say I have seen any changes to them since I first used them
Good presentation but I wish all you tube experts would preface these updates with a mention of whether there are any non-AI/generative fill updates. Some photographers like myself don’t care a whit about generative fill.

Currently I'm at zero but it still says "When you're running low on credits, continue generating content at no additional cost for a limited time" I wonder when this will change!!! Esp when using the new dashboard feature you showed where they can get gobbled up quickly!!!
I like seeing new features and improvements in Photoshop, but when I went to my computer to initiate the update, my first thought was "I wonder what's broken this time?" Past "favorites" include horrible performance when moving a fixed-size rectangular selection with an existing selection, stair-step effects when doing refine selection, minute-long stall followed by out-of-memory error with the remove tool (sdtill present), etc., etc, not to mention the infamous "Photoshop encountered an error"-type error that appears to be happen more often now that than what I was used to CS6
As a dedicated photographer, I feel Photoshop’s recent AI advancements are pushing the boundaries a bit too far. It’s beginning to make photographers complacent, tempting them to rely on post-processing rather than perfecting the shot itself. Plus, this push towards digital artistry risks blending photography with digital art, which can affect the value and authenticity that we, as professionals, strive to offer our clients. In the end, paying customers may become more skeptical of what they’re actually purchasing. When things get pushed to extremes like this, we risk diluting the art of capturing the moment authentically.
Auto selections for things like remove background and remove distractions are sub-par. Combine that with frankly woeful AI gen when stacked up alongside the big boys of text-to-image and the 2025 update is frankly a hot mess right now.
Any drum beats that you have heard as to when Adobe is going to start offering generations of a final, chosen selection at the original resolution of our beginning image, Colin? It has to be something that they are planning to introduce. It's very irritating having to use jerry rigged hacks to get better quality, resolution that isn't that good. I would be willing to pay for the service. This is my biggest gripe re the feature. Fine, use low rez when we are experimenting to find "the one" but give us the option, if we need quality, to avail ourselves of it.
