With MS products, its always a question of when they actually roll it out, then when does my IT actually give me access to it. It's tough to get excited about something I might not see for a year or more.
If something like database integration really happens, I hope it's not yet another independent, DB silo, but rather leverages something existing like SharePoint lists or even Dataverse (or both 🙂)
Looking at what they have so far, I believe it's likely to be based either on something they are building out specifically for Loop or on something that already exists in Microsoft 365/Azure. I don't believe it will be a database silo. Let's hope anyway.
I still use onenote and I like to use apple pencil to take quick notes. Loop appears not to have an easy way to use apple pencil. I can use scribble its not easy and very slow needing many corrections. Will Microsoft be improving the ink or pencil options in Loop? I would like some day to convert all my onenote pages to Loop pages. Currently this is only possible one page at a time. Do you know will there be a batch conversion option some time down the line?
Great video, thank you, nobody is talking about the Achilles heel, if your mobile and don’t have access to Internet, unlike OneNote or Apple notes to name just a few, it’s completely unusable.
I'd love to see Power Automate integrated much deeper, and combined with adding database support it really could be amazing. They also need to add a free tier, the fact that Notion allows you use it for free is great for hooking people in,
I want to like Loop but it's a bad half baked product. Loop tasks won't sync to To-Do, inserting a loop component in OneNote doesn't work, and loop components are just links in the native version of Outlook. I've given up on trying to use it.
The biggest issue for actual wider adoption is that you can't share or LOOP IN people from outside of your organization! There has been an active thread in their support page asking for this feature that Microsoft keeps responding to every 3-4 months saying it's "in the works" and "coming soon." It seems to be coming about as soon as cold fusion power reactors. I've tried to get excited about Loop, I can see a TON of actually useful benefits in business use, but when it's siloed to only people within your organization ... it isn't much of a collaboration tool. And I don't understand the holdup, because they already allow sharing outside your organization from OneDrive and SharePoint ... why can't they use the same concept for Loop sharing? Makes me crazy when they knee-cap something useful like this.
@@joshuahernandez-th6ovThat is irrelevant, Loop is a web based application and works pretty much anywhere. Whether you like it or not is one thing but Linux vs Windows isn’t an argument in this casel

I want to love Loop - but my years as a SharePoint Architect/Admin - the lack of enterprise data control makes it very challenging to advocate. So many parts are tied to personal OneDrive storage and in our current market there is a lot of churn - which causes this info to possibly get lost when OneDrive files go away. MS makes it easy from user perspective to use without knowing or thinking about where to save, etc. - but that causes friction when dealing with thousands of team members around the globe for larger enterprises. Great content and appreciate the video - hoping MS can make it a little easier to manage from the enterprise sooner rather than later..
Thanks for watching and a great point! I guess Loop is aimed at smaller orgs and teams but nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if Microsoft addresses the problems you’ve highlighted.
I don't really get the attraction other than note taking but then I'd also want it to understand mermaid diagrams. The database thing could be interesting providing they don't lock it to dataverse. I suspect Notion has more integration capabilities too so it can receive webhook payloads from other services.
I like what Loop is trying to do but I don’t feel comfortable using it in production until they add some export features: Markdown, MS Word, PDF, etc. - not just from individual pages but also from workspaces.
I would love to use loop to share documents, meeting agenda and tasks with my retail customers, so that they have the full history of interactions and documents, but microsoft hasn't released the option to share workspaces with third parties, has it?
Loop components are the OLE objects for the web. And today's performance is horrendous. Sometimes it freezes and the UX behaviour does not feel natural.
PS: i have the feeling Microsoft is also not convinced themselves. It is often ignored in there b2b presentations. Loop is an experiment and demo of the framework, not a replacement for other solutions.
Loop still has lots of kinks to work out… my team tries to use it, but you can’t add someone to a workspace as view-only. They get full edit access. A huge miss. Plus if someone just LOOKS at a template on a page, it wipes out all the content on that page. Terrible. I want to like it, but it’s quite lacking still. Felt like it was gonna be the next big thing, then all the AI-hype stole its budget.
There are still a lot of things missing. Databases are a very important feature for sure, but it really needs better page embedding, page templates, etc to really compete…
Lame headline. No games are changed at this point. 10 minute video that should have been 5 tops. Doing it for the algorithm instead of the audience. Meh.
Since our company runs um MS365, I would love to like Loop. But there are still so many flaws. Not database feature, no view only on pages, when a person leaves the company the workspace goes with them. Countless things. Also no real integration with TEAMS and other MS apps. One thing I don’t understand with Microsoft products is that they offen seem to developed as stand alone products. While the power of Microsoft should be to work towards a Work OS
Nobody cares about the database feature. Everyone is screaming for the ability to share outside your organisation so projects with consultants can be effectively managed together

Comparing loop to Notion should be illegal! Notion is leaps and bounds ahead of Loop. MS are now trying to release a new Planner and that also falls behind Notion.

I'm trying Loop, it's too slow. I can't get away from OneNote on Desktop and Mobile. It has 10+ years of notes. I like Anytype more than Notion.
Yes, when they add it to Business Basic or the frontline licences.
No!
