This looks so cool. If only I passed the physical at the MEPS back in 1983 (too nearsighted), I'd have started in the USN for about 12 years then transfer to the Corps for about 6 years. I know I missed out on some great experiences.
What would you have done for the last two years? You would be two years short of retirement. I served 6 years active duty Marine Infantry after enlisting in 1986.I promise you, it would have been hard as hell to go from the culture of the Navy after 12 years of service where you would be a Chief Petty Officer, going back to being a Lance Corporal (E-3) in the Marines. Unlike the other services, where people can lat move without going to boot camp, the Marine Corps makes everybody go to boot camp.
Teaming up with MARSOC Raiders, Force Reconnaissance Marines make an awesome possum combination of lethality, firepower and Special Operations Capability. Semper Fi and Celers, Silens et Mortalis!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🗽⚔️
Short answer - Force Recon and Recon Battalion report to the Marine Corps. They support the Corps. The Raiders report to SOCOM - in practicality, they just about leave the Marines when they are assigned to the Raiders.
Reconnaissance Battalion - Working For Each Division Asset. Force Reconnaissance Company - Working for higher Command/Cmdnt of USMC Sometimes they worked with Joint Task Force. MARSOC Raiders - Working for SOCOM asset sometimes they do operate Joint Special Operation Task Force under the JSOC element. Recon Battalion focus on Direct Action and Gathering intels Recon mission with limited. Force Recon focus on VBSS(Visit Board Search Seizure) MIO(Maritime Interdiction Operation) and long range Recon mission Such as Special Reconnaissance Deep Reconnaissance Conventional & Unconventional Warfare Direct Action. MARSOC Raiders are Same as Force Recon and they do more focus on Direct Action FID(Foreign Internal Defense) Counter Terrorism Counter Insurgency Counter Drug Narcotics Humanitarian missions and High Value Targets/Manhunting. Force Recon Can conduct what Navy Seals and DEVGRU does except different Command structure MSOC Raiders Can conduct What Green Berets, CIF and Some Delta Force Mission capability.
Im super late but raiders are ik its cringy but they are the navy seals of the marines but better. To be marsoc/raider you have to have a lot of time in the military prior most come from recon marines. Force recon is the varsity of the 2 recons while battalion/division is the jv team. Still no matter what all 3 of these guys are grunts and marines straight up but highly motivated and effective.
EDGE SIEGE well kid you got balls. Good luck in boot camp. Don't be a fuck up. And if your willing to fight for your country on the front lines first, then definitely join the corp. Also don't let the recruiter pick a MOS(job) for you pick it yourself. Oorah SemperFi 🤘🇺🇸💪
EDGE SIEGE Its a brotherhood that will stay with you all your life. I was in the Marine Corps from Oct 1973-Oct 1977, was a Sergeant. Im still proud today at 62 yrs old. Get in shape, DO NOT look the drill instructor in the eyes. Look at his forehead NOT the eyes. Run, belly crunches, pull ups is what it takes. Someday you will be able to say "SEMPER FI" and be proud.
The Enemy Aggressor is rather, sadly and sorely mistaken, if He or She misbelieves that, ever since Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command ( MARSOC Raider Regiment) stood up on 24 February 2006 AD, @ Stone Bay, MCB Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, that, Force Reconnaissance Marines , somehow, no longer exist, or else, that They are weak and ineffectual. Nothing can be further from the truth. Force Reconnaissance Marines: CELERS, SILENS ET MORTALIS SUPERINTENSIFIED!!🇺🇸🦅🗽🪂💣💥

Richard A. Valdes I do, in the Corps Oct 73 - Oct 77. I had a Commanding Officer of Alpha 1/9 carried a swagger stick.
Can someone please explain the difference between Raiders and Recon Marines? I’d love to know the difference. Thanks!
TooSlickForJew look at nick k. (Idk how to spell his last name) video. He does a great job describing both

My Gentle Pitt Bull my dad was a army ranger, trust me I’ve been in shape all my life lol
Hol up I thought the FR Companies had all switched over to the Maritimes since 2015? But still the MICH 2000s still look incredibly aesthetic
FR companies which r apart of recon battalions send their platoons to MEUs to make the MRF
