You do know that 911 was an inside job, right. Keep informed Marine. Check out the video where you can clearly see a middle hitting the pentagon. I was strongly against the idea initially, but that helped me decide. Before you label me unpatriotic, I fully intend to join the Corps. The KNOWLEDGE I have obtained does not taint my burning passion to serve. However, I won't be blind to what's really going on. Oorah Sir.
Marine, the only time I want you actively engaged in the use of force within the US is when you are facing south to protect our borders. You have no other function within the US.
This is nothing new 1970 I was stationed at 29 palms waiting on separation papers from active duty to Reserves. I had just returned from a year in Vietnam. To get to the point in that period of time late 60's and early 70's the war was a big political nightmare and a lot of people were demonstrating against the war all across the Country, Anyway I was a E4 Corporal and had drawn Guard duty over a long Weekend so I was pissed but more so once I found out that it was not Guard Duty but Riot Control. and that, what we would be doing is drilling all weekend long on how to control crowds what had caused this was Camp Pendleton had it's Main Gate blocked by protesters a week or 2 before this and the Marines were not prepared for this and so they figured they needed some kind of riot squad on hand at Marine Corps Bases. Back then it was not the New World Order that had people scared it was The Hippies and the White House Yea well I guess it is about the same after all. I have heard people talk and worry about The U.S. Marines Being Ordered to open fire on American Citizens. I have told them that I can not speak for the other branches of service But I assured them if in when something goes crazy and you see Marines run to them not away. The Number One Priority of the Corps is and always has been Protecting and defending our People and our Constitution and that has not changed. "Semper Fidelis"
Pyrrhos Denault ii mean like the shields are are like the roman scutum (shield in latin) and batons like gladii (gladius-sword in latin declinated to nominative plural) Spartans had their spears and their spears and also short swords but yeah and this is actually kind of like the testudo formation but without shield on top (which should also be adopted for crowds throwing objects at marines) Sparta had its own shit, which can be directly seen copied in the early republic with units such as the triarii who typically fought in greek style formations but by the time of the Marian reforms Rome got their shit together and were making stuff up as it went along (such as with the testudo)
i guess it could be argued either way, either phalanx or teustudo, i was merely thinking of the shields (somewhat similar to what Caesar's legionnaires used (the more rounded scutum-shield) and the fact that the are using gladius like batons not spears and little shields the size of a persons face
Well in the U.S. we have the right to peacefully protest, but if it becomes peaceful then tactics like this will likely be used. But my the S.W.A.T. or local police, not the marine corps. The marines are used for maritime activity, and doing things out of country, for example if we had marines in another country and if that country was having not peaceful protests, and if the politicians believed we should help that country out. The politicians is always where shit gets messed up though.
That's because the riot shield is kinda like the Roman shields. The Greeks were one of the first military forces that famously utilize the hoplite phalanx formation, first using oval shaped shields.
"UMMMM MARSHALL LAW!" really...... stfu Marines have always done shit like this.. who the hell you think kept Sailors inline since 1776? O right U.S Marines, unlike the Royal Navy. the U.S Navy has never had a Mutiny.

thank you Gunny, these people for some reason took this video and turned it into a political argument and no has escalated into an overall fiasco of an argument and is overall just individual ignorance and stupidity. Being a Gunny yourself, may you elaborate on what this is used for? (since people don't believe me and others saying it is meant to be used in support of humanitarian operations and embassy protection)
This might be an old video, but the tactics learned by these Marines may come in handy if we begin to experience chaos as has occurred in some European countries, now being overrun by "refugees" wanting to establish their control in some of our cities here in the USA. "To preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution from ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic...", were the words with which I swore an oath when I entered service. It is better to be prepared for such encounters, than to learn "on the fly" if they do take place. God willing, we will never have to use these tactics.
Lol this video was great until 0:04 "Marines are known for their deadly fighting abilities"... bruh do not think you're the spartans or the Roman empire, please do not
I really don't like what I see here. This clearly is training for Military vs Citizens. Unfortunately, I'm sure the Marines conducting these exercises are unaware.
Ian Hausser Those were old days. This is modern day, the middle east. This protocol is to enforce peace. We're pulling out of all of those dumps and going into peace time. If the Marines, or any US Military branch has to use firearms then they will. Everything has a reason, but right now you're speaking bogus.
Ian Hausser Really... then care to explain why I have seen Marines with Riot Shields at the Embassy in Egypt? Care to explain why Marines use them to protect the Base in Okinawa? Care to Explain why I have seen them used at the Army Base in South Korea? O right because every now in then there is a protest, HERP de DERP. now cut the BS crap and get off the Conspiracy R us threads. makes you look like a fucking moron.
eeehhhh or you can look in to all the Generals that are being fired for refusing to sign a paper saying they would fire on U.S. citizens without consent.
***** its going to be funny when marshal law 2014 happens and you eat you're words. open you're eyes to whats coming towards you. even military members are sensing a strange feeling of preparation to lock down american streets. please explain to me then about the 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition that the department of homeland security purchased? which are hollowpoint rounds and cannot be used for a military conflict under the geniva convention. its obviously in preparation for a war within american boarders. im an active duty military member and we are all hearing the rumors about whats going to happen.
Because they were some of the greatest fighters in ancient history. Many children were trained to fight at birth there. That is why they are glorified.
To protect the constitution, against all enemies, foreign or domestic
God bless you.
Get ready for domestic
Unfortunately they'll tell you the common citizens are your enemy
If anything it’s more of a Roman marching formation with a testudo tactic.
Yes
Who else would the Romans have stolen the idea from other than the Greeks?
this is just a shield wall not really a testudo
Damn seeing Sgt. Gonzales as a lance is really a trip.
He was one cool combat instructor at SOI West
i love it how they are using catcher's leg gear

m203 shotgun rounds, im sorry i mean bean bag rounds haha(x
This isn't for us citizens, this for protecting embassies or aiding other countries police forces
Are you still sure of that?
Man this is good NOW
I did riot training at Camp Lejeune with M-14's and fixed bayonets in 1969. Things have changed.
"non lethal weapons, like the SHOTGUN" am i the only one who caught that bit?
Bean bag rounds, won’t kill em.
Shields are pretty much obsolete against an explosive round, whether it be a rocket or a grenade. (Launcher)
Yes, I think they know that

no, the Sargent said something about deployment, so in other countries that need a police I guess??

This is closer to the Romans then the Spartans.
That's because the riot shield is kinda like the Roman shields. The Greeks were one of the first military forces that famously utilize the hoplite phalanx formation, first using oval shaped shields.

i thought it meant halo spartans, guess i was wrong...
wat about behand tham
whats the MOS
shut up civilian
I betcha those shields are hard plastic, same with the batans.
are they bulletproof though
No, they would be overly heavy and be pointless for it to be
That's why they wear body armor and have lethal cover
i'm sure they are just training for an imminent Martial Law circumstance, or for the confiscation of innocent civilian's firearms.
Man wonder if the Marines learn anything else that could be used against American citizens
blue falcon pogs
Romans didn't use catchers gear
Yes they did.
You know OR
send these guys to ferguson XD
