The fact that she thinks Uncle Shay was “coming at her” is the problem. He gave over 3 hours to tell her story, he asked some clarifying and follow-up questions, but he by NO means came at him. When he wanted to move on and she had more to say, he let her have the time. Shay is not an enemy. Just a country dude who had some questions.

    • @sunflowermama4297

Shay tried to challenge her experience feeling racism. Why would he defend a white teacher in the early 90s vs. what this woman is saying she experienced? If she says that a child told her that she’s just there because she’s black, and that feels racist to her, then why is he trying to defend the little white kids? Makes no sense. That’s not interviewing. That’s debating. He needs to take a break, go learn about journalism, and come back new and improved.

This is not to absolve Shannon Sharpe of any faults by any means. If you feel someone is coming for you unexpectedly and with bad intention especially in a professional setting such as an interview, why not ask them why they are? @@taler8988 She was invited to his podcast to share her experiences and while sharing her childhood experience to which Shannon was not a party to, he interjected and used his own personal experience to invalidate hers, when in actuality, her experience is the only one that mattered in that interview. He attempted to gaslight her. His obligation was not to align his perception with hers, but rather to foster an environment that allowed her to speak her truth as he did with countless other guests.
The real question is what compelled him to challenge her perspective regarding her encounters with racism? Consider the scenario akin to being a black man behind the wheel, subjected to a traffic stop by law enforcement. Inquisition ensues regarding drug use, whereabouts, and the presence of weaponry within the vehicle-a sequence that raises instinctual alarms, signalling a deviation from routine protocol toward a more sinister agenda. Departing from such an encounter, you’re left with an innate certainty of innocence marred by victimization, rendered easy prey solely due to racial profiling. Upon recounting this harrowing ordeal to your spouse, instead of receiving solace and understanding, inquiries arise: "Were you exceeding the speed limit? Why not comply with their inquiries? Why resist a search of your vehicle?” Along with statements like “Maybe they believed you were someone else. Maybe they were just doing their job and following orders. They are just trying to make it home to their families safely.” Followed by: “My experience with the police has always been cordial as long as I followed orders therefore I don’t think your experience had anything to do with race.” In this scenario, your spouse prioritizes the perspective of the aggressor over that of the victim (You). Your spouse has extended themselves to have more compassion and empathy for the officer in the situation despite lacking firsthand experience of the event. Do you not see how that could be viewed at the very least as questionable behaviour?
In the case of Shannon, his stance definitely warrants introspection and critique.

THIS IS WHAT I SHARED ON THE #SHANNONSHARPE INTERVIEW
    Enjoy🎉
Amanda gets in her own way when growing in life's essential areas. I did hear her Speak on this a little bit when she said she is now changing in that area. Listening to her discuss things about her upbringing, made me believe that her thoughts and perception of Anything is Primary, above any other Key factors or truths that play a major role in situations/dilemmas -this is why considering other point of views are so hard to welcome for her. Life is not only black and white. There are gray, red, blue, and orange areas also. If she keeps healing and growing, she'll gain more peripheral about many things in life. With that being said, Relationships & Life will become much easier to nourish.
    ● Acceptance Is Her Answer
    ● Every Bout Is Not Hers To Fight
    ● Sometimes There's A Gift In Rejection & In Shut Up *Believe Me I Know
    ● We Should Not Have That Much Need For Control
    ● Humility + Confidence + Integrity Will Pave Her Way
    ● GOD Bless Her Mom For Allowing Her Expessive Freedoms, BUTTT.. Children MUST Be Exposed To Proper Guidance, Manners, Morals, and Values that Goes Along With Great Aptitude. If Not, SASS will Lead The Child's Communication Until Adulthood.
And of course, Issa Rae wrote that character for Amanda trying to be Facetious.
    HOWEVER,
    I Admire Amanda's Drive.
I Admire Amanda Avocating for Herself & Others.
    I Admire Her Strength.
    I Applaud Her Accomplishments.
I Adore Her Beauty, Inside & Out.
I pray she let's GOD be GOD in her life.
I pray that she prospers as her soul prospers, and for many great doors to open in her favor🎉🎈🫶🏼🙏🏼✝️👑

Your comments around autism are highly offensive. As a certified specialist who conducts assessments and provides formal diagnoses, it is completely FALSE that 'most people will tell you that you don't need a diagnosis at this age.' Formal diagnosis is essential, not least because it provides a distinction between autism and other neurological conditions and/or personality disorders. Furthermore, you trivialise the condition when you assume that you can diagnose yyourself. It is not that simple.
You owe ACTUAL autistic people a huge apology but I doubt you have the humility to do it. And that's not autism. That's just good old-fashioned arrogance.

So, I think Amanda is mad hyperlexic. Her love of language, desire to study, and the need to deeply understand EVERYTHING is so real for hyperlexic autistics.
I don't know if you'll see this but the more you know about hyperlexia, persistent drive for autonomy (not pathological demand avoidance because fuck that stigmatisation), and especially the double empathy problem, the more shit will start to make sense.
I think of masking/the double empathy problem like I do any situation where marginalised folks are surrounded by centred folks. As a means of survival, any autistic person who is able to do so, studies neurotypical folks.
We (autistics) get to know they like eye contact, indirect language, we try to learn their social rules etc. They do not have to understand us. What happens to neurotypicals is that suddenly, these folks they don't understand know a whole hell of a lot about them and suddenly these people stop managing the neurotypical person's discomfort for them.
As a person whose way of being in the world is centred, you go, "Oh shit, I don't know their motivations, but they might see mine." Then you're a threat. They don't know your next move, and ambiguity is scary.
The gag is, the whole damn time there is no next move. This person who is seen as a threat is just trying to live and build something. What's extra fucked up is folks don't even know theyre being ableist, they just see you as "off" not necessarily autistic, but they know damn well you're not playing by their prescribed social playbook.

To be honest, I’ve never really knew much about Amanda until this interview. I can stay with all certainty that the main reason why people do not like Amanda is because of how she corrects everyone with a very condescending arrogant tone. even people agree with her. She’ll check and correct them as well as they attempt to understand and see it from her point of view.
This leaves her feeling isolated and misunderstood. The reality is she comes off very mean. Shannon Sharp is a very easy-going likable guy who wants to have positive relationships with everybody he talk to. But it seemed like he had to stop the interview a few times just to try to clear the air and stay on a positive positive note.
Even if you’re right, sometimes you have to allow people to be wrong so that way they can grow into a point where they can see why you’re right and the future.
In conclusion, you may be brilliant, but you’re very unlikable, because you are flat out mean arrogant egotistical, and conceited with your intelligence.

I can say this cause everytime he interviewed a black lady who has been labelled like "difficult" when in reality she was brave enough to call things out, he tried to explain them how the ones who did them wrong could feel about them. but when it comes to men he didn't, not one time he approached KW questioning if he was difficult or trying him to understand the point of view of his detractors, the people who did him wrong.
It's so sad, even between blacks we have these issues that are not letting us to be united.
He should be the one protecting this ladies instead of voicing their detractors thoughts, I feel so bad for this black men generations that don't know what is to protect the women of their community, and fiercely seek for validation in a white's world without realizing how important is to nurture yourself and your people first before going to the world

i wrote this in the comments section of the interview but im gna paste it here so hopefully u can read it: Amanda ... this interview made me tear up a bit because I understand u a lot. We have the same communication style and very similar life patterns of bullying, being misunderstood, of being above average lowkey overachievers but meeting obstacle after obstacle, sabotage patterns i even had sabotage from professors at university, n was kicked out of one of my programs, and i even moved onto study a niche kind of DIY degree in African Studies afterwards lol, i really feel i can relate to u a LOT , i learned something new which is the possibility that i too might be on the spectrum i suspected it before but now watching how u communicate, makes me really think about looking into that possibility. I noticed early on the trend of people hating me "for no reason" and i realized it wud be easier if i just stop talking... so i sort of silenced myself for years, and only now am i finding my voice again, and learning how to... be the fullness of who i am but at the same time knowing that there's always some social "games" being played, and if i want to b of service to others i sort of have to sometimes just not say the truth of what im thinking, since i tend to SEE right through things, and see into the hearts of ppl , and that triggers them, so i pretend like i dont see or know anything but continue to maneuvor in more covert stealth mode to get done what i need to get done. Im not saying this is the right way to handle things im just saying this is the tactics ive chosen to adapt, but im working on releasing these tactics now as they no longer serve me.
Anyways, i also want to add one more thing, look into Indigo Type 3 Contracts ... I mean i suspect ur a Type 3 Indigo , if u look into that it might help u make sense of the path you have walked in this life and why u have faced a lot of resistance and targeting. It might give u a even BIGGER picture as to "why people dont like u" because for me i discovered i was a type 3 early this year and THIS made all the more sinister experiences ive had of sabotage and backstabbing n bullying make sense to me. Basically, ur on a mission here on earth, and its not an easy mission, but still, ur on a mission, keep being exactly who u r but also adapt some new tools to help u navigate this planet because this planet needs people like u, but just cause this planet NEEDS u doesnt mean it wont try and resist u at the same time, because its like a rebellious child, they dont know or want whats good for them. Ur literally a GIFT! always remember that! Thats me summarizing the type 3 Indigo thing, but yeah deep dive into that and see if that resonates.

I have almost the EXACT personality as you and I have had hundreds of experiences with people (mostly white or black) pushing back against my intellect, outspokeness and drive for people to be better. My bullshit detector is always on but I too am kind, generous and loving.
AMANDA, DON'T EVER CHANGE! F*CK all the haters, even if they are MANY. You live in a world where ignorance, obedience and fuckery is rewarded. You're unique, and obviously more emotionally intelligent than most of the people you have worked with over the years, and that says a lot.
Your interview with Shay was excellent! The good and the not so good.
The hive minded mantra that keeps getting pushed around, that you are "difficult" etc, Blaming you as being the common denominator in negative situations, the victim blaming is wild and very typical of a society arrested in it's emotional, spiritual and intellectual development. You already know what it is. It's a reflection of them, not you//us. They are projecting their gross inadequacies and unfortunately the anti-life (living harmoniously ), un-empathetic social programming is what our entire society is based on. Do not change sis! I'm surprised and disappointed to hear about Issa. Good on you for outing her publicist, it's the next best thing to suing her ass.

I really liked your interview with Unk. It really helped me to get to know you better. And honestly, the very, very little that I did know, I didn’t like. And it really wasn’t anything specific.
It was more like just a feeling based on thinking I heard something controversial about you. Much praise to the long form interview. I really came to understand who you are and dare I say, find you not just likable, but lovable.
You ARE delightful, brilliant, a genius and all of those good and wonderful things. And as if that wasn’t enough, you showed your humility and set an amazing example for all of us, that we can’t get through this difficult thing called life alone and there certainly is nothing wrong with asking for help…even if it needs to be the professional kind.
Thank you for being vulnerable Amanda. You’ve gained a new friend.

Interesting response to your interview. I'd be curious as to which spaces you feel most comfortable and what happens there that doesn't happen anywhere else?
As I practice being more self-aware/mindful, I love noticing when I feel most comfortable and when I don't. "I' statements can be powerful. Only because this one started with "I" then went back to others.
I really appreciate all the conversations around this topic because I def want to have compassion for others who may not communicate in my style while also knowing when there's something that I get to change with myself.
    As above, so below.

Sooo you saw why people dont like you BUT its actually their own fault because they are insecure (no pun intended), unintelligent, and dont have the proper perspective to understand that you are educating them as a superior, such as a parent, teacher, or coach... yeah ok, got it👍🏾

I saw your Club Shay Shay interview and really didn’t know anything about you prior. Ultimately I came away really liking you but could see how you could rub some people the rub way, not intentionally though. But our aspiration in life should not be to make everyone like us but to find fulfillment in who we are.

I think your curiosity is key. You stood up for yourself when Shannon was trying to dismiss your racial experience as a kid in Florida. You showed him grace as well and empathy and compassion. I have been going to therapy for many years so I also understand the nuances of your experience as well. People are probably intimidated by your confidence and being a black woman. Let’s be honest. They expect you to be a certain way period. It’s like Michelle Obama wearing a sleeveless top. Her appearance alone was intimidating.

    • @6585116
      @6585116 Месяц назад

That didn't sound like a racial incident though. Maybe she should have told the STEALING incident with the white girl admitting she stole it but the teacher still said then BOTH of them should go to the principal's office if she wanted to highlight a possible racial incident. In real life most adults dont want a child trying to correct them because they feel like "you are a child and dont know enough to correct me". Even older adults sometimes do the same thing to YOUNGER adults like when a 22 year old tries to teach the 42-year-old adult. Not saying it is right but it happens.... heck, you might find yourself doing it from time to time.

As someone who also identifies being on the spectrum, IMO I felt the way you handled the pushback was graceful and with so much patience! Causeee the way I was frustrated for you and would’ve absolutely gotten flustered! Yes you spoke directly, but it was joined with you asking questions to garner understanding. I’m also someone who speaks very directly and intently and it comes from a place of passion and conviction not necessarily ego or needing to be domineering. However I do understand how some can perceive the latter. For me it’s the easiest and least taxing way to get information across, and simply the most genuine and authentic way of expressing myself. And then the way you chose to disengage once you realized he wasn’t going to understand was commendable, that takes incredible self awareness and control. I understood myself a lot more by watching and listening to you and walked away feeling empowered!

    Interesting human.
She is everything most successful men DO NOT want. Her dating choices are an indication of that.
I find nothing wrong in her approach and i do not work in her industry. But what i do know is that "everyone" cant be wrong.
In her defense, SHE gets to choose which voices she listens to and what adjustments she may or may not make in her life. The consequences are hers as well. I wish her well.

I think it gave me more insight to Amanda and can also acknowledge why people may be put off. That being said Amanda I adore you and truth be told I enjoy Shannon like the lovable uncle that was so fun to be around at the cookout that every once in a while made a stupid misogynistic comment.
