    You can also customise your top control bar to have a 'Low Latency Mode' button, which is super super helpful! Natural instinct for me now, to turn it on any time I'm recording, and turn it off as soon as I'm done.

    • @stewartkeyes2511
      @stewartkeyes2511 Год назад +3

      That is much faster than going into settings. However you lose all your plugins...

    • @leonbounds
      @leonbounds Год назад +3

      @@stewartkeyes2511 Yeah, I know, but you'd only use it during recording so that isn't too bad. And if you watch the video, he talks about it. He's the one that suggests turning Low-Latency on and off for recordings. I'm just saying there's a way to make the process easier.

      @@InspiringgrowthIG
      1. Right click the top Control Bar (where the tempo and play buttons are)
      2. Select 'Customise Control Bar and Display'
      3. In the fourth and final column, select 'Low Latency Mode'.
      4. Click 'Set as Default' for this button to appear on all future projects as well

    This was probably the most useful bit of Logic Pro advice I have watched. The explanations were clear and the pacing was really helpful. Hopefully this will solve recording issues in Logic Pro 9 which I’m still on.

    Another great video. My approach is to use an Apollo Solo and monitor directly from that while I record. Works amazing, but not the cheapest solution. Logic on my computer does not like really low buffer sizes, but that might be because of my love for Alchemy...

    I need to get an adapter to connect my midi controller directly to my MacBook; I’ve been using the connection I have to connect to my iPad and then I use Logic Remote to make it usable, but that’s technically a wifi connection from the iPad to the MacBook, and it definitely has latency

    Thank you so much for this info! All of a sudden a latency issue came up when i was recording vocals and it was impossible to record them. Simply checking the low latency mode fixed the issue! I use an apollo twin and can monitor from that but I like to monitor from Logic mostly so i can hear the vocal chain i use there. Thank you for sharing this info so we don't go INSANE!

    I pulled my hair out a little bit I figured it out in my case. May work also for the community. Put the samples all the way down to 5000 and buffer size on 512 and that solved my delay problem fast‼️🎯

    Love your channel. I’ve been dealing with a latency issue on my MacBook, where mid session my latency will go from acceptable to three seconds. If I restart the program it’s back to normal, but it keeps jumping to the super high latency. I have not been able to find a solution or anyone else experiencing this over the last two years. Any ideas what might be causing my latency to increase spontaneously in mid session?

    If you set the buffer size too small and experience clicks/pops, do the clicks/pops persist into the recording? If yes, how do you know how to toe the line between an optimal buffer setting for low latency and 0% risk of clicks & pops?

    • @jeowhi
      @jeowhi Год назад +4

      yes the clicks/pops will stay in the audio if you recorded at too low of a buffer size. 128 is the sweet spot i find for latency/ preventing clicks and pops!

    Hey Chris and anyone who care to share input - I got a new macbook pro last Year - 14in Macbook pro - 4 TB - 32gigs of Ram - 12core CPU-19core GPU
    Shouldn't I be able to record a vocalist with effects like a Stock eq - antares auto-tune set to low latency mode and a bus to a reverb-- all with no latency?
    Whats a work around to recording an artist with little to no latency while they're hearing themselves with effects?

    Does anyone know why, when I record my midi , it plays back either a 1/2 step down or kinda wonky. I’ve checked if it’s pitched in the software and if my keyboard is set properly and they are both where they need to be. I’m not sure why it happens, when playing live it’s fine. Any suggestions, I’ve googled but no help

    What determines if your system can handle a low buffer size, or plugins, or both? The computer's processor? Something else? So is there any guideline to optimal computer specs to help with trouble-free recording?

    • @joshhighlights3310
      @joshhighlights3310 8 месяцев назад

      Computer processor for sure. Logic and others daw they use more the processor than the ram. That’s why you need to have a power good processor that can handle plugins and a lot of ram
