For names maybe personal preference but something i recommend to people have a first/last name examples Eyra_Althelisia, Wren_Wildeye, Avex_Luvard, Sung_Sojin etc... i think you can do it without underscores these days but i've always stuck to that like the character limit is rather generous that you can fit some rather long names for your characters this is something i've always done for BDO but loved to see it actually encouraged in FF14 first and foremost alerts off comes before everything else as a new player imo Out of the dozen+ mates i've brought onto the game those alerts are horrendous and it truly blows my mind how PA have left those on as the default new player experience for years like the majority of people i know will play for atleast half hour or more with low framerates and not care but those alerts i've had people straight up turn the game off instead of dealing with those. like outside of the 0.005% (fite me idc what the actual stats are) of endgame players the overwhelming majority of those alerts mean nothing In a similar sense PA needs to badly work on trickling new player rewards instead of just throwing a billion notifications and popups on the screen Props to them for reworking the Balenos questline to be actually good again tho personally i miss the days of starting in olvia and working your way to the cave. like hell olvia doesn't exist anymore besides setting up nodes there is zero reason to even go near that town now days :S but there are still blaring issues with the new player experience ,
I would recommend Ancient Stone Chamber path for brand new player if you're into lore and story. The story of Winter Mountain just heavy with a lot of information that would lead you to skip the the whole thing altogether if you're brand new player.
One thing I didn't realize when I started was that the family name I chose would be what other players called me. I thought it was going to be like a surname for my characters, but it turned into my own name as a player.

Season is ending tomorrow i suggest you wait for like 2 weeks till the new season comes.. But if you can find someone who would power level you to 60/61 you would get a lot of rewards it will take like 2 or 3 hours depending on the buffs you have

Damn, I just started playing the game. I was hoping for a more in depth explanation for a complete beginner. There are so many items and boxes, boosters,crafting materials etc. Options on the UI I don't understand. Not even sure how guilds work or why I would want to join one. If I want to lvl an alt character, should I do the simplified main quest line or start with the eternal winter storyline? What is the different and which do you recommend? Is one lvling faster than another?
If you already did the main quest on your original character, then it's way more optimal to level your alts on the eternal winter storyline because it's simply much faster. If you never did the original quest, you should do that on your aunt because you will unlock a lot of knowledge and gain more contribution points and energy that you are going to need down the road.

Every MMO ever has always had guides that help you make the most of your time. Of course you can stumble around the game and find your feet but most people like to be effecting with their time especially as you get older and have more responsibilities in life

All I what to know is how to turn the fucking dark vignetting off. Every time I think I'll try out BDO again and get in-game... I'm reminded of how horrible the vignetting is. It's like I've had a stroke looking at the screen. I hate it so much.

The campaign so far has been so painfully boring. Just sprinting between a hundred NPC's spamming dialogue, barely fighting enemies, and oneshotting all of them. All of that with no progression at all since u basically unlock all ur abilities by level 10. And then ur just upgrading skills from 10 to 56. I hope the endgame is way better than this. And my inventory constanly being cluttered with materials I have no clue what to do with. I know all of these life skill systems exist, but they're not explained at all. No clue how to do anything with them
Im interested in the game and starting but the pvp end game focus is garbage and the entire concept of pvp in this game is absolute dog water. I don't wanna drop two thousand hours to pvp I think that's extremely low qaulity game design am I wrong in my conclusion that the end game is only pvp. Esp if they allow pay to win kinda seems pointless for me to grind 2k hours to have bobby with 100k make my progress meaningless if pvp is the only endgame.

Most of your settings can't be altered before level 10 unless you're an older family unless they changed it.
