Ocarina VS Recorder Round 2 - Which Sounds Better?

Today we will compare another set of 4 recorders and 4 ocarinas. Each instrument will play a C scale and will contribute to play Edelweiss.

I was taught recorder at school. It put me off woodwinds for a decade and a half until I tried an ocarina. Now I have multiple ocarinas and carry at least one ocarina with me at all times.
I've heard others also say that playing recorder at school put them off learning to play an instrument.
Please, don't use recorders to teach students about music.

What would you recommend for a middle-aged guy who can barely read sheet music enough to sing along in church but wants to learn how to play a portable instrument? I've tried the harmonica, but I can't get the breathe-in breathe-out patterns right. And I've tried a tiny four-hole ocarina, but I think I'd prefer a lower and broader range of pitches.

Any alto-C 12 hole ocarina should do, learning sheet music is fairly easy of you follow David Erick Ramos on here

Recorder makes sense to me than ocarina which fingerings hard I love ocarina of Time though

Recorder is very high pitch. Hurts my ears.

That is one of the reasons that I have come to enjoy the ocarina. It seems to have a mellower tone.

All of these are soprano recorders, Alto recorders are more popular with adult players and were very popular in the baroque period. Also they're all plastic. Professional recorders are made of wood.

I bought two or three ocarinas I love Nintendo but I couldn't play it to save my life lol 🤣 I'd try the fingerings are awkward. Recorder are more direct I'm a fat Asian guy with buck teeth ocarina is hard recorder is more natural feel for me. My own experience.
