One thing I noticed that is different between Paul and other singers is that when he really means it, he stands completely still. Perfect example here. Fiona is moving to the music, head sometimes swaying to the rhythm. Paul remains almost perfectly still, except for an occasionally rock back and forth or glance down. So Uncertain. So Awkward. So Paul. It's Gloriously Sweet.
REplying 12 years later ... it always felt like no matter how experienced he is and was, he always seemd like he was nervous singing on stage or like he felt imposter syndrome ... or soemthing. V humble on stage when he was singing, not the confidence he showed joking around or talking.
I miss Paul and his Singing... mmh. It's those things that short of stuff like this, which youtube randomly deletes half the time without warning... You can't find this stuff for love nor money.
Privileged to see Paul McDermott (with Steve Gates, Tripod) for his one hour, one night stand at the Adelaide Fringe 24 Feb 2018. Sold the 500 seat tent. Still writing and singing beautifully.
@QuirkyGirl12345 yeah, ever so slightly. He does have a habit of going pretty deep when he is singing his own songs so maybe that has something to do with it, especially in the early days. Hell, I don't know, pure speculation!
I said this version. I'm more familiar with the big live one, with Paul Mac and the Rottnest Island Symphony Orchestra. Probably at a Comedy Festival show. Also, who;s Reece Mastin anyway?
Hey, Did anyone else notice Paul's flinch or wince at 1:06? Usually it's associated with either confusion, anger, pain or memory. Hmm.... I'm really sounding stalkerish, aren't I? ....sorry.....
I was there, front of stage, was incredible! ❤
The Good News Week shows were amazing but, the best part of the night was always Paul Singing.
Totally agree. Voice of an angel.
Absolutely. I’m still singing them 25 years later.
@@thebestmedicine6688 Me too!! My fave song... bought a CD of all his songs 20 years ago, no idea where it is but this was on it...
It actually felt like an iconic moment in Aussie TV with this song. And Throw Your Arms Around Me in particular.
What an unbelievable talent you have Mr McDermott. Your voice is divine.
This one speaks to my heart
You are just amazing🙏🎻🎶both of you, just beautiful, not to mention the orchestra in the background🙏bless your souls
Thank you for sharing just stunning - loved Paul’s singing and always excellent song choices
I played the cd of this over and over. This song and 'Happiness' (the 'b-side') were amazing.
The DemonDogDub mix of this song is also great.

can't find them anywhere :o( it probably sterts with G, C, D.. but it doesn't sound too good :o/
Let me guess, you're a Reece Mastin fan?
@QuirkyGirl12345 if there was a flinch it was extraordinarily subtle
mine too... sigh.
Why didn't Paul say anything afterwards? He looks like he's a million miles away.
he might’ve been thinking of someone
Is there a version of this song by someone else? Or Paul with anyone other than Fiona Horne?
WASNT THE BEST TIME

Wow...I think this is the first time I've heard this version.... Great song, but this version just... lacks something
