I love these guys so much. I grew up watching them and remember going to primary school singing "I want to spill the blood of a hippy"... Cant wait to see them in Tas in March!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the contrast of the old and the new. Apart from the first 30 seconds they two songs are synced. Is there anybody else that would love to hear the two audio tracks combined? I think it'd be something very special!
It’s really weird because I was listening to them again recently and had no idea they were doing anything because I don’t watch any mainstream media. This is so cool :) Paul has the voice of an angel.
Paul is a brilliant comedian but he's wasted in that role. he has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard, the emotion he can put in a song is without par and he excels at anything from rock to spiritals.
I remember watching them sing this way back when. I thought at the time how much better it was than the Hunters and Collectors version. Nice to see Flacco having another life.
Game of Thrones might be good..... .....but when I was a young man we had The Doug Anthony All Stars....... ......and as a back up on commercial TV we had Hey Hey it's Saturday!!!!!!
Thank you Mark Seymour - for a wonderful song, but fuck Paul McDermott’s altar boy version of your amazing lyrics has been an ear worm for so long. Thank you Mark. And thank you Paul.
Life is so cruel sometimes. Tim getting MS robbed him of so much, but it robbed the music world and us of what would have been so many fantastic hits. If they'd cut out the comedy parts, and Tim could bring himself to tell the others what was wrong, they could have continued for so many more years. Tim's message was fantastic, and Paul's totally rockin' the sexy Grandpa look.
Is Paul Livingston singing in this one? I can make out 3 voices- or are they actually using Richards voice for the the deep bass he did in the original?
Tim is navigating MS yeah, and it's a massive lifestyle change but he's still singing and performing and making people laugh. Let's not act like his life is an inherent tragedy because he's living with a disability.
Yeah, nah sorry, but the original version was by far the best. The beat, guitar and backing vocals was THE BEST. I am left frustrated and wanting with these more acoustic and laid-back versions of this iconic Aussie song. Just don’t muck with the original version that won so many over!
Paul has one of the most divine singing voices ever created,
I ABSOLUTELY AGREE
My Childhood was truely blessed.. Thank u my dear deep friends.
These guys singing this song still gives me the shivers.
me too, everytime
I remember DAAS busking in Garema Place, Canberra in the early 70’s. Soon I will be a little bucket of ash. Enjoy ever day.
I couldn't love a song any more than this.
Brilliant. It could not be anything less.
DAAS redefined this song, made it greater than the great song it was, made it holy, sanctified it.... made it a different much greater thing
Amen brother
I think in this confected binary political situation, it also grows bikini PUBES.
It's good cover but not in the same hemisphere as the original
Oh, yes, I love H&C, but the combination of Paul’s angelic voice and the stripped back vocals make this something magical rather than great xxx
@@splattered63i find it much much netter than the original.
Something very profound in this - we never know who we will be in ten years time despite all of our plans.
Where will we be in 50 years? - Uncanny X-Men.
Bring “ the big gig” back. So miss it.
I love these guys so much. I grew up watching them and remember going to primary school singing "I want to spill the blood of a hippy"... Cant wait to see them in Tas in March!!
Paul and Judith Durham should have sung a duet - both had perfect bell-like clarity and voices like angels 😇
Gorgeous Tim and Paul! Love them :) You too Flacco :)
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the contrast of the old and the new. Apart from the first 30 seconds they two songs are synced. Is there anybody else that would love to hear the two audio tracks combined? I think it'd be something very special!
wow, this made me cry.
the one and only time i've seen these guys they were busking in little Bourke st and I threw some bucks in their hat, omg so so long ago xxx
It’s really weird because I was listening to them again recently and had no idea they were doing anything because I don’t watch any mainstream media. This is so cool :) Paul has the voice of an angel.
Tim Ferguson... that is fracking genius!
Here because of a silly TV ad. DAAS cover is so good. I get chills every time i hear Paul and Tim sing.
Magical memories. So lovely to see them again ❤❤❤
Paul is a brilliant comedian but he's wasted in that role. he has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard, the emotion he can put in a song is without par and he excels at anything from rock to spiritals.
and those friggen glasses ;) make him look crosseyed
fuck that, he obviously loves being a comedian. What's wasted in that??
He sure can sing. Making people laugh has an allure of its own though.
He isnt wasted there.. it obviously makes him happy
"3 words ...Tick,Fuckin',Tock!"👍🙌🏻
incredible. thanks so much for posting
Saw this show. They were all brilliant. Great, still anarchic, humour and voices. And so was Paul’s projected art work, both past and present.
So pleased you shared this, thank you. I saw them the month before in Perth and sobbed when this was sung, barely saw a thing 😂
So beautiful ❤️
I saw DAAS live so many times in my youth.. seeing them now with that video in the background is causing me a kind of pain I'd never expected to feel.
I remember their first performance of this
I remember watching them sing this way back when. I thought at the time how much better it was than the Hunters and Collectors version.
Nice to see Flacco having another life.
Love Timmy and his words of wisdom.
WOW , THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL
Truly angelic.
All my admiration to you DAAS
Beautiful!
No often a cover is so much better than the original but this is
lOVE THE WHEELCHAIR, LOVE THE BEARD, LOVE DAAS...
Fantastic, really enjoyed this!
Paul has the voice of an angel and the mind of a Victorian guttersnipe
Best description of my beloved Monkey Boy ever 😂😂
Thank you 🤩
Absolute Gold!☆☆♡♡♡
IF you can find " Tick Fuckin' Tock " on Iview watch it . It is 2 part docco about DAAS . Brillant !!
Saw all your videos on this song. Brilliant!
man....... this is really THE DEFINITIVE version of this song.............
Paul is such a prick.
I hope he never changes. :D
Game of Thrones might be good.....
.....but when I was a young man we had The Doug Anthony All Stars.......
......and as a back up on commercial TV we had Hey Hey it's Saturday!!!!!!
Still the best. Even better than hunters I think.
thanks for uploading
You are legends
I’m not sure if Paul’s voice has gotten better with age, but it sure hasn’t gotten worse!
As brilliant now as they were in the 80s
The look on Fergo's face,priceless.
Love love love xx
Thank you Mark Seymour - for a wonderful song, but fuck Paul McDermott’s altar boy version of your amazing lyrics has been an ear worm for so long. Thank you Mark. And thank you Paul.
Paul is such an evil, brilliant bastard.
Life is so cruel sometimes. Tim getting MS robbed him of so much, but it robbed the music world and us of what would have been so many fantastic hits.

Entertainers... forever
Still awesome!
Gorgeous
OMg Paul that beard lmao still love you oh and tim OOOooo
I thought the years had aged me, and I can see the changes in Paul and (sadly) in Tim, but bloody hell, Richard has aged badly!
...
...
Sorry Flacco!
And Paul is still one helluva sexy dude.
Song starts at 4:39
Didn't know Karl Marx had such a nice singing voice.
Looks like one of them has finally got a job. (Richard Fidler).
Is Paul Livingston singing in this one? I can make out 3 voices- or are they actually using Richards voice for the the deep bass he did in the original?
Oh and Flacco hugsarama!!! lmao
honestly that is a very Karl Marx beard on Paul
Where’s Richard?
he elected not to re-join the group due to his current career priorities
Oh poor Tim. So sad.
Tim is navigating MS yeah, and it's a massive lifestyle change but he's still singing and performing and making people laugh. Let's not act like his life is an inherent tragedy because he's living with a disability.
Missing one.
Paul is so gorgeous but ill never understand why he has gone out of his way to look so old unecessarily
I see Paul's battle with the hair has failed. Also how did Tim end up being the shortest one in the group?
Anyone else notice Richard in the background on the guitar. Doesn't look like he has much going on over there ☹️
That's not Richard, unless you're talking about the video behind them.
That's flaco not Richard
My god, Richard Fidler has aged badly!!!
That's Flacco, not Richard
Yeah, nah sorry, but the original version was by far the best. The beat, guitar and backing vocals was THE BEST. I am left frustrated and wanting with these more acoustic and laid-back versions of this iconic Aussie song. Just don’t muck with the original version that won so many over!
