1:41 Pin to PAP: Controls flare. Maxes out at 3 3/8, lower is less flare and hooks earlier, higher is less flare and hooks later. Chris uses 5" for this video which is on the weak side. 3:18 Mass Bias to PAP: For Asymmetric balls. Closer to PAP stands up quicker. Video uses 5" which is a bit weaker and hooks later 4:32 Pin to COG (Center of Grip): Default is 3 3/8, Higher numbers lower RG and raises diff, lower numbers does the opposite. Video uses 3" which is very slightly weaker
Dang! Even WITH all the great explanations, this is still a lot to wrap my head around and really understand. It was awesome watching you go through this process.
First I wanna thank you Chris for all your information I have learned so much improving my game. Watching your videos I am currently a new bowler 6 months and the sky is the limit I love it I just joined a league. I currently have a Hustle USA And my dream bowling ball is the Storm Summit. Please consider me for this gift and again thank you so much for all you do for us and all the encouragement you provide and helping everyone strengthen their game.
great job Chris! I've been trying to teach this to my pro shop operator but he is stuck in his old ways... lol. So he calls me to layout all balls for two-handed/no thumb bowlers... I should be officially on the payroll by this point...
Hi ! :) I have an old horizontal drilling press. I tend to have more accuracy drilling holes with the "two line" to put my drill on the right place. Did this change everything on the measurements? ( As long as I take my pap front the bottom and center of my center of grip and make it the same during the layout process? (I hope it's understandable...)
Thanks for the video your content is great, Question I use 5x4x4 2ls layout as my bench mark, So how would a 4x4x4 2ls react in comparison,. Any info you could provide would be great. Living in Iowa can't find a sole who can tell me. Not even my proshop guy lol. if it matters my ball speed and rev rate is similar to yours. Thanks for the great content on you channel.
Great informative video Chris! My PSO is a Storm staffer, so I'm sure he is up to date on these types of layout methods. It would be cool to make a trip to your shop in Columbus OH and get a ball drilled by you guys over at TV Bowling Supply.
Thanks for the tutorials. I’ve started laying out my own balls now and this has helped a ton. Question for you, I throw Motiv, but how would you layout your strong solid asym to say a ball similar to a tour dynamix? Your strong asym was 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 2. What layout would u go with for a medium/light oil asym hybrid?
So I got a question. If you make the ball weaker. That will make it quicker off the spot? Much of my stuff hooks too early so I need to def do a less flare weaker drill but scared of the back end response. Is it a cover thing that will determine that more than the weak drill? So I guess what I’m asking is does that weaker drill come off the friction as much as say the strongest drill or is it similar or just a smidge quicker and will just change the length more than anything?
I'm really understanding 2ls and have even layed out a couple balls myself this way, quick question does the mass bias number matter at all when drilling symmetrical balls? I haven't quite been able to get a definitive answer, most people say no but does it really have zero impact on ball reaction?
It has no effect, when changing the PSA to PAP you’re rotating the ball around the pin as it’s axis, and since the core in a symmetrical ball is symmetrical about that axis it doesn’t change anything
You simply move the CG when moving the PSA (second number). In a technical sense, yes, it does make a difference, but not the most significant difference that’ll be noticeable to most bowlers
Can we get a video of doing the 2LS layout system in reverse for already drilled balls? My pro shop will not do layouts he'll just drill it wherever you like so I can be able to identify my layout.
Is there a good 2LS layout for a high speed 19 at pins 21 off hand, low tilt 3 degrees, 550 rev rate I have a hard time moving in once the pattern breaks down.
Chris V: Oh boy I'm excited to record in the shop today! When is a good time to do it? Customers/door alert: DING DONG Mikey or someone working front counter: Pls
A ball cannot be laid out like that because the pin and mass bias are about 6 3/4” from each other, so it is impossible to have a 2” pin to pap and 2” mb to pap
Hey Chris! Great video! Just a question, when would you recommend someone to drill their ball with a pin to PAP distance that is shorter than 4 inches? i.e. 3 x 4 x 3. I see that most pros or ball videos almost never have a pin to PAP distance shorter than 4 inches, so I'm curious!
Shorter pin to PAP balls have a smaller window of usage, harder to move left with them because they tend to hook earlier. They are good for if you want something to play straighter with!
I wish they can turn the arc chart into selectable options. Like instead of a chart I keep having to check and triple check to make sure I'm on the correct numbers

Dude, this 2-hand content is awesome. As a converted two hander it's greatly appreciated.

Storm Pitch Black is my all-time fav!! Several 300's and an 800 series with it. Love the videos very informative please keep it up!
You are awesome and I love studying your game, it’s helped me slow down and control the two hander power so thanks
Great content as always guys! Can I ask what you personally use for finger pitches?
I love these 2 handed videos! I would love a storm journey if I won :)
Excellent explanation Chris!

Thanks for the video. Storm Virtual Gravity Blackout looks like a great ball.
Journey looks real good. Very informative video the old one helped me get informed enough to work with my pso to get the right layout for me.
Great explanation! Thank you for this!

Keep grinding Mr. Via, can’t wait to see you on more shows this upcoming season. I would love a tour dynamix if I win!

What is your go to layout for sym balls? Especially the Journey??
have you ever done a pin down 2LS? how would you map a negative pin-to-COG?
Violent collision
Is there any tool out there that converts dual angle layouts to 2ls? I would like to see the relation between the 2 layout systems
Chris. What layout would you suggest for a Hustle Hyb? PAP is 6 1/16 over 1 1/16 down max ball speed right now is 15 off the hand apporx 475 rev rate
How tight should be the inserts to your fingers? I see that you can pickup a ball with just your fingers. Mine usually fall when I do that
Great content!! I would like to have my first Urethane bawling ball Purple Hammer pls

So as a one hand two finger bowler would i benefit from this layout system or the regular layouts?
2LS system would be the most beneficial!
Can you please make a video on how to find out what 2LS layout you have on an existing ball? 😅
Need to see more on fuller rollers and layouts
If my pap has no Up or down, do I just create the line from the first Intersection to the cog?
Yes

The Magic Gem looks really good. My Exotic Gem has been one of my best balls but gets just a little long at times.
I hear ya, that reacta gloss craps out quick!
@@michaeltovrea7947yeah from what I heard there’s better polish out there.
What's your phaze 2 layout
How would it look and work out if both the pin to pap as well as the mass bias to pap do not intersect? Example, both are 2 inches.
A ball cannot be laid out like that because the pin and mass bias are about 6 3/4” from each other, so it is impossible to have a 2” pin to pap and 2” mb to pap

@@tvbowlingsupply Ahhh I see, that makes sense. Thanks for the explaination Chris! Look forward to your success this upcoming PBA season.
If my vertical PAP is up, does that mean I go down?
Yes. You want to do the opposite when it comes to your vertical PAP.
I wish they can turn the arc chart into selectable options. Like instead of a chart I keep having to check and triple check to make sure I'm on the correct numbers
How well does this translate to Motiv?
The journey Belmont's ball
