    I ordered a Nuphy Air60 so I could have a nice mechanical keyboard that I could take with my Deck as well as tote it around the house and easily swap between my deck, my iPad and my PC. Since I want to carry it along the Air60 is perfect because you can add a folio case/cover and I’m fairly certain that I can attach it to my tomtoc sling.

    Well this is the normal color code when it comes to switches. Granted this is a breath overview and recently people have started making their own colors that differ from this but this was the standard for a long time.
    Red - is linear meaning there's no feedback until you bottom out the key.
    Brown - has a tactile bump a little ways down but no additional clickiness.
    Blue - has added click to the key switch for an auditory feedback of when the key is activated.
    I love custom mechanical keyboards. I built them all the time. This is a solid board for people who don't want a fact about but want something more than the standard off the shelf keyboard

    ❤keyboard After using:
    A. Column stagger (similar to ortholinear, but the coloumns are staggered to match finger length
    B. A split keyboard
    I just can't use anything else... The ergonomics are just not matchable for me by anything else. Keychron does make great keyboards though!

    I use Keychron V3MD3 and I like it much more than all keyboards I've ever used before but it is TKL. If I must use full-size keyboard then that would be the keyboard of my choice.

    ❤ Keyboard! That thing looks really good. I've got a corded Corsair K70 mechanical keyboard that I've used for a few years now and I love it, but if and when I need to shop for a new one, I'd definitely consider this. The ease of switching between machines sounds really nice.

    I got the k4 pro, its amazing for working on mac and pc at the same time.. i too broke my spacebar so i had to get a new keyboard. this keyboard rocks, and is able to swap between mac and pc whenever i need and is almost instantaneous. ONLY issue ive came across, is that the VIA software used to set macros and configure things doesnt work for me so i cant change macros or anything.. idk if anyone else has had this issue

    ❤Keyboard - If I ever break my old Stowaway bluetooth keyboard (bought to work with my Nokia N95 originally!) I'll certainly take a closer look at one of the Keychron keyboards. But as I only need to connect to one device (my steam deck) the old bluetooth keyboard is fine right now.

  • @jesuszamora6949
    @jesuszamora6949 4 месяца назад

    Not sure what you meant by breaking your spacebar (was it a rubberdome keyboard?), but you'll be happy to know that the keycaps AND key switches are hot swappable on the Pro (I have a K10 Pro right now, which is the traditional layout with the double-key numpad 0). The exterior is plastic on these pro keyboards, but that steel plate (and I'm willing to bet some weights - I've not opened the thing yet).

    ❤Keyboard! Throughly enjoyed your review of the K4 Pro. I’ve been using the Logi MX Mechanical and find the keys too mushy (technical term) that has no perceptible feedback in pretravel (short 0.13 mm) nor key activation. I often add needless spaces as my thumbs hover over the space bar and 2nd letter caps as I do not retract the shift key far enough. Seamless switching with work Windows machine and my Mac mini is a must. My question to a K4 Pro user: “Can you feel a bump or slight resistance as the key activates on the K4 Pro?”
    My typing accuracy (already bad as an engineer) has decreased using the MX Mechanical. I do much better on my iPad Pro Magic Keyboard and thought of downgrading to the Logi MX S keys (scissors switch) as I can feel a pronounce bump. My favorite keyboard is an old wired IBM mechanical that stays at work for this dedicated Windows-only purpose.

    My Logitech g710+ mechanical keyboard from 2014 has similar brown switches in the Cherry MX browns. Just like you Bill I chose brown because of the ease to press down the keys to type. Also it looks like you are into typing up documents the Browns or similar switches to those are much easier to touch type than the red ones or ones similar to those..

    💜Keyboard I've been doing some research on my first mechanical keyboard and I think I've settled on either the K4 Pro or the V5. There doesn't see to be much difference aside from the V5 having a knob but no wireless (which is not a deal breaker for me).

    okay, okay, you got me. You didn't have to do that, Bill. I was enjoying this enough, I must commend you on your delightful delivery, I took the joke hook line and sinker.
    "They're not too hot, they're not too cold; they're just right. Apparently, I'm Goldilocks."
    not "it is Goldilocks", "I'm Goldilocks"
    That's charm that cannot be reproduced intentionally. It's like that "No, THAT Bill's old, too" levels of charming, you deserve this genuine compliment: you bring a humility and lively humanity to this RUclips Space. Decktube is much better for your inclusion. I recall the first video of yours I saw, it TOO was a "this gadget for Steam Deck" style, and I gotta say, you're an amazing and dedicated teacher. You offer information and seem so interested and thoroughly intuitive. I can retain the information you present.
    Good job.

      (on the bright side, if you're typing a number, at least a right key press doesn't set you back in the number, and confuse you "which number you just transposed"? Like, I look at my fingers, but still, if it were typing a URL into an address bar, you won't displace a letter? Just saying?)

    Great review. I might need to grab this. I have a Logitech G915 and when using it in Bluetooth with my steam deck the steam decks on screen keyboard keeps popping up to the point I can’t type using my physical keyboard. Only thing I can think of is maybe my logitech keeps losing connection or something.

    * mechanical switches
    * vertically aligned
    * split
    * more then one key (space) for the thumbs
    * programmable
    * open source for longevity
    I landed on the ErgoDox and it's siblings.

      @TiagoAbenante I got the k4 pro. I use it at work and home as well.(I got a carrying case that fits it perfectly from amazon, and it fits in my backpack.) I can see how much more confusing it would've been if there was no separation of keys. It was a definite relearning of muscle memory regardless. I am looking into getting a nice palm rest now, preferably a wooden one. Having the wrist raised up reduces mistakes considerably. Using random things like books and stuff for now.
