@@alexdasliebe5391 LMAO, they never gave us the final part of Breakpoint. It is not hard to make a broken game better after release, when it did not even load or run on release. Do not trust ubisoft will keep their word or decide on their own to go a totally different direction with the game that no one asked for (Narco Road DLC from wildlands is a great example of this).

I mean they really don't have a choice. This game is coming out late 2025 at the absolute earliest and they've been working on it since 2020. If it comes out and it's BAD? They'll lose another core franchise and look like an even bigger laughing stock than they already are now.

There's definitely a chance that they learn from the mistakes of the last one. You can hate ubisoft all you want. I sure do. But the last GR after a ton of updates is actually a super fun game now. I've put 3k hours into it.
So we'll either get a good game or a shit show that takes a year or so of fixes to make good 😂

@@ZululCommando Yeah, the newer titles have just been in constant decline in terms of story. OG Ubisoft titles overall weren't half bad although I can't seem to remember any Ghost Recon game that had a meaningful story personally.

@ethanesslinger9805 only thing they can do is map design. That's it. Avatar, riders Republic, even breakpoint. All had a nice map but they f up the gameplay, either its to much like Far Cry or they change a game so much up with lvl gear and stuff... wildlands with the first person mod is still the best out there. Don't even know why they don't make a sequel since wildlands ending is the boss going to Mexico...
This sounds more like old Rainbow Six than Ghost Recon but it's ubisoft so my expectations are very very low.

It's more like the original Ghost Recon before they decided to completely change it up. The OG Rainbow Six was more like the old Swat games so this will be returning it to its roots

this, highly advertized survival and camps and what we really got was just preplaced checkpoints

in fact the game asks you to pay for time skips, a game that asks you to pay for time skips or jumping forward is literally telling you your long term engagement with said game doesn't matter, its about how much you fork over asap.
THIS has been the Ubisoft model for at least a generation now.

I liked breakpoint after they added AI teammates and gave us the ability to remove drones, hud, gearscore, etc.
I do like the customization part of breakpoint actually if that goes I'll be a bit disappointed but not the biggest thing. Interested in this 'graphical leap' since I thought breakpoint and even wildlands looked really good. As long as they release a feature complete game without buzzword type tech like 'NFTs', 'Generative AI', etc cetera then I'm down. Also unfortunately still won't buy anything for more than 60 so if it's this new bullshit 70 dollar price tag it's a no from me.
No buy under 60 dollars? Be ready not to buy shit after a year or 2, because this is games in 2024, no lower than 70 or 80

Generative AI in games is amazing, have you seen the Skyrim mod? You can persuade by your actual speech one faction to attack another. You can ask lore questions and get helpful answers on your quest. I need official AI support in games asap

With you until you said "remove hud". The HUD(Crosscom) had been a part if GR lore since gr 2. IWS was rudimentary, crosscom and the subsequent generations were the next gen iteration. Next HUD should be even more advanced.
This is pretty typical of Ubisoft. They set up a great foundation and then cover it with Ubishit.
I would love for Ghost Recon to play a bit like like a streamlined ArmA game.
I'm fine with getting rid of the Barbie stuff, but I hope they'll expand on the weapon customization. Also I think first person is the right way to go, but maybe include an optional third person mode too. I'd enjoy playing both third and first person.
It wasn't the RPG elements that pissed people off: It was the gear level looter shooter shit. I was part of the Beta and we said from day one that we atlest should have an option to switch that BS off. The guys that want to run around and do it, fine.. but leave it as an option. Obviously it shipped with it enabled and it took the better part of a year and players dropping before we got what we wanted from day one. It didn't help that they tried to shoehorn in NFTs as well.
G.R.A.W. was the first Ghost Recon game I played and I loved it! I also have a lot of time for Breakpoint, so if it's a combination of the two I'd be pretty happy with it

I really liked the 3rd person of Wildlands just because being able to play through that game as some of my favorite rainbow six ops was fun.
I won't lie, I actually enjoyed breakpoint, sneaking around felt pretty good. Hoping for something a bit similar.

@@patman3310i still hold to this day that the Wildlands was just a very watered down version of MGSV:PP, with more influences from the farcry formula the copy/paste in all their games.
Breakpoint tried to be a little more, but it also tried to be what it shouldnt have, a looter shooter.
then to appease the masses they made "super hardcore look the guns work like real now" mode. and the game was clearly not designed around it. mainly cause the enemies have little to no tactic aside from unalert one-tap patrol, alert one-tap patrol, and run at you and shoot also they actually have health now.
I also had some appreciation for GR:Breakpoint, but then I turned on MGSV and man is it just vastly superior at everything modern Ghost Recon tried.

MGSV, even though it was objectively half-finished, is still to this date absolutely incredible, arguably the peak of stealth action
I just really hope there will be difficulty tuning settings; I personally enjoy a really tough experience because it keeps me playing.

It’s fine if they want First Person Perspective be the default setting but the game MUST have third person as an option. I like and play Ghost Recon because it’s third person, I can play almost any other game if I want a first person experience.
Id prefer 3rd person so we can look at our "tacticool" gear

If it's PvE, I wouldn't mind having the ability to be in both first or third person.

They should remaster all the original ghost recons and splinter cells and do it WELL. That would definitely help revive their status by a little
maybe it could be a hybrid of 1st and 3rd persons like in the old Rainbow Vegas games, you see your character when taking cover, climbing ladders etc, that is a way they could still implement clothing and character / team customisation
I would love a more linear Ghost Recon. Much more linear. Or at least a smaller, more focused open world. I look forward to seeing what they do. I came around to really enjoy breakpoint. Hopefully they learn from Breakpoint and just give us something better than it at the end of the day.
i had never played a ghost recon before 3 months ago - im 45 and been a RTS gamer most of my life, but now that im older I'm actually getting into FPS ... and they are fun. Im playing Breakpoint. And I know its been patched for YEARS now, and finally a lot of it is fixed, and I've been able to play with "gear level off" which makes the guns more "realistic" and I've been having a blast. I mean yeah some of it is cheezy but dude this game is fun. Just running around stealing vehicles, blowing shit up, killing enemies left and right - I am having a great time with it. I am TOO excited to experience the launch of the next one - and I'd be all for a more realistic take... but I hope they don't botch the launch as bad as I heard breakpoint was in the beginning. Thanks for all the info, man.
Truly is a great game for all the reasons above. Also, for me it's about the stealth aspect. Much fun.

I like the GR games, but I've always known it to be 3rd person and first-person. My first jump in to the series was Advanced Warfighter on the 360. I loved Future Soldier, which for me was the best in the series. If they give us an option, then I am all for it, but I will give it a chance without totally dismissing it.
it could be like the Rainbow 6 Vegas games, where it's first person in nature, but the cover system puts you into a 3rd person perspective. that way, they could still do the tactical barbie stuff and sell outfits and weapons
What ArmA Reforger Combat Ops should be. This looks like Ground Branch, but open world, which would be dope

I want it 1st person and I’d be cool with or without customization as long as they look like real SOF operators (SEAL, DELTA, GREEN BERET). Weapon selection and customization is a must though.

Tbh about the customization; I'd love to see actual effects with ai depending on what camo you have. Desert should hide you in a desert, winter camo in snow, forest in forest. Im not understanding the Barbie sentiment considering every tactical shooter has some number of equipment to choose from but with that said I'd love to see an actual use for the equipment like in ground branch where if you don't have a rig on you aren't holding ammo and such. Maybe they just need to add real world uniforms to choose and say if you are a drone operator you have to equip the drone ruckpack or something idk. After writing this and thinking of all the random useless cosmetics I kinda get it.
It _sounds_ like they're aiming for a return to roots, with the whole first person perspective thing. Milsim-like and all that? Brings to mind the Advanced Warfighter PC games. That said, it _is_ going to be shat out by modern Ubisoft, who never fail to pull defeat from the jaws of victory in increasingly surprising ways, so I look forward to seeing how creatively they manage to disappoint us _this_ time.

There is so much competition in this area. Ubisoft is easily poised to dominate it if they would just focus and make the best game they can.

While i have no hopes till i see it. Id definitely be happy going back to 1st person, though i do hope they have a wildlands/ breakpoint customization just because i enjoyed changing my look to fit the "mission" i did. Instead of the generic soldier look a lot of games leave you with for the whole story. Especially when ubisoft cant make a likable character with any kind of depth in recent years
Needs to have 1st and 3rd person, it's really that simple.
I like being able to customize how my guy looks and the kind of guns he has, assuming there arent levels tied to it like The Division (or early breakpoint). As long as it doesn't impact the story and gameplay I prefer they continue to let you find and equip new armor/weapons, or change it to an unlock system where you unlock new clothes and guns via how much you play the game. Even if the game is first person people will still want to customize their character, especially for PvP.
So happy to see it going back to it’s roots. I hope the AI is smarter this time around.
I like the customization but if I had to choose I want first person it just makes the game easier to play and it looks better but being able to switch pov would be nice

Maybe they’ll do weapon or enemy packs. I.E. something like what Warhammer does for its RTS games. Then mission content how Hit Man (current) does it? Who knows. That’s what went through my head.

I was so excited when I saw the title of this video. Then I keep hearing fps fps fps. I am starved for up to date tacticool 3rd person shooters. I miss socom so very much or all the oldie 3rd person shooters. Wildlands and breakpoint had thr issues but at least it scratched that itch ya know

I have absolute faith in Ubisoft's ability to fuck this up.
Im ngl i couldnt give a sh*t about Ghost recon after the last couple games then the cancelling of an unwanted game because the nft backlash..not because nobody wanted the game. I want a new Splintercell or a remaster/ or remake of Blacklist. Give us an alternative to siege and play it like a seasonal styled hubub and add characters and whatnot, whatever. Just give us a splintercell.
I really hope that one can choose to continue on playing single-player with good AI team squad !

Single player and co-op are pretty great imo in wildlands and breakpoint. Ubi makes a beautiful game.

If you could, please try Sworn today, the game was made by Blizzard, Niantic and Riot Games. It looks like HADES but in the Knights of the round table setting.
For them too go back to first person will get rid of the cover system and honestly they should make the game optional for first and third person at the beginning of the game just so everyone is happy cause I myself played ghost recon from the start along with a few of my friend's who was in the military and we all said 3rd person was better in our point of view cause we can't see our surroundings around our character and changing the outfits to blend into the environment was great, especially when you're in prone and as for my military friend's that play these game's they said that if it's forced into first person and such situations like thinking a baby for a bomb could cause someone with serious ptsd from war flashbacks so but if they make it optional for both parties it would help separate pov from movie/game pov if that makes sense

GRAW2 on PC is still my favorite Ghost Recon game and I haven't even finished it.
Honestly my favorite was Future Solider.. I wish wed get a sequel to that..

What makes Ghost Recon distinctive is the 3rd person tactical shooter, all they had to do is improve on the Wildlands formula instead of going for an RPG, Division like entry like Breakpoint. I would hate it if this game releases in First Person only, there's sooo many games like that on the market, i'd rather they stick with the 3rd person view or at least give an option to players to switch between the two.

I don't think they do this but ideally it would be toggleable in PvE but not in PvP
