@@wolfmode69 there's no pressure or compression on your spine, or hips. When I started using this machine, almost immediately all problems disappeared. I'm also able to safely achieve depth, and bail out safely if I fail. Over the last year I've put an inch on my thighs thanks to this.
@@intensity.density2208 that's wild man, an inch. I always skip this machine because it felt really odd the first time I tried it. I'm gonna add it to my leg days and hopefully I see the same results.
@@intensity.density2208 I'll do that to keep an emphasis on my quads. I'm doing an upper lower split but with a leg emphasis so 3 days lower. Hoping to see the quads blow up from these.
This hack squat machine is a bit different than other hack squat machines in that it appears more hip loaded vs spine loaded due to having the lower back pad and not the pads above shoulders. How do you think it would compare in terms of which muscles would be emphasized with the nature of the machine?
I used one of these. Feels a bit sketch cause youre not locked in theres the risk of sliding up/down the pad which could compromise position under heavy load
I second the "sketch" feeling. We have one of these at my workplace, and it seems I can't get it to feel right. It is not friendly to the lower back or hips.
This machine is more of a leg press than a hack squat, when you compare the mechanics, the angle and the position of your hip and legs. i have one of these in my gym, I honestly see no benefit for it over the leg press, and it really can’t replace a legit hack squat or even a barbell squat.
I read this before, and now after using this bit of kit. I definitely prefer standard hack squats. Feels unsafe at all levels; lower back, hips, knees.. I even felt like I was going to slide off the base and do my shins in at some point.
This machine is so difficult for me to go low on. I go way lower on the on with the shoulder pads. So I always cut the reps a little higher than the machine's full range of motion
This type of hack squat doesn’t do it for me either. Like you said the one with the actual shoulder pads is far more superior than this machine. I rather stick to smith machine or BB squats
@@oreozzz012 correct. this machine just sucks to the point that it pisses me of. if gym owners/trainers actually tested their machines most would thow this garbage out
Any of these spine-focused Hack Squats fucking stink. Unless you don't mind doing 15+ reps on these you're going to fuck with your lumbar when lifting heavy on these. I don't know the biomechanics behind it but no matter what I do I can't use these machines without having moderate pain in my lumbar region for DAYS after. I'm currently on vacation and don't plan on lifting for a weekend and haven't done the Hack Squat since Tuesday and I'm still feeling decent pain 4 days later? I've been using these machines for like 3 weeks now honestly not worth it. I geuninely hate leg presses but I might just go back to them just because how bad these lines of hack squats are.
Why ? Im grtting my condo gym to buy a hack squat machine and ive been using this at the local l.a fitness and thought it was pretty good but there is no regular hack squat machine to compare it to however. What are the differences between the 2 you tbink?
@@iang8169 Shoulder support. Look up "hack squat" 90% of the other ones you see have you supporting your shoulders somehow. I'm not sure why but that little change makes it so much better on your back. These versions are just terrible
This machine will take your soul if done correctly
I'm using it for the first time and it's burning the hell out of my quads lol

Thank you for showing all those different options!!!
Thank you for making this video. I didn’t know what that lever did so basically I’ve been doing partials 😅
Perfect instructional video!
Great quick video. Thank you.
This is the best machine that I have ever used for quads.
Precor make great machines and they're very underrated.
How would you compare it to the regular back loaded hack squat?

Definitely a like! Quick and straight to the point 👌🏻

I hate this version of hack squat cause I feel like I have to pull to keep my butt in place which takes the weight off my legs

Is a hack press like a hybrid in between a leg press and a hack sqaut ?
