When you’re lure is hooking up on bait like that, it means you’re doing everything perfect. Even the baitfish are fooled, trying to school up with your lure. A++ lure choice/presentation.
Me and my buddy are planning to drive to Cape cod from Los Angeles this summer. I figured if i have to risk living because of the virus i should risk fishing some big ones.
Nice I actually seen you that day I was down near the light post it was a great weekend I was the guy that you showed at the beginning it was a 35 incher i was using g a magic swimmer
Check with the local tackle shops as late Spring can be good. Summer and Big Moon phases seems to be most consistent as this was August. But you never know, timing is everything there.
Yes those were smaller fast moving stripers so I send them in head first to get that rush of oxygen. For the medium & larger fish then I set them in the water to revive them. On this day everything I caught was 7 lbs or less, smaller schoolies.
Hi, I would suggest something b/w 9.5'-11.5 that's rated for at least 6 oz. I flew in from ATL so I brought a 4pc travel rod the Okuma Nomad 11'heavy rated up to 6oz. I don't do this kind of fishing often so cannot provide much more advice other than suggesting you keep asking around especially the tackle shops like Canal Bait & Tackle if your local.
Wow all the way from Georgia ! Next time grab yourself a Sebile Swimmer deadly at the ditch. Also lots of guys use tactical angler power clips. These clips make for a fast plug change over. Good luck next time!!!
Great video ! Striped bass on lures nothing better. Kastmasters , hopkins , wire leaders 30 lb test big game trilene ..Why do everyone keep popping up ? You fishing ? ( Just dancing with wolves )...Duh..
i literally had a similar experience went to the cape for a couple days and got skunked, im ready to go back and get redemption like this.
Love the canal! enjoy watching others experience it. Great video much enjoyed.
Thank you it's a special special place for sure.

Looks like the quality inn.
You have an interesting way of releasing the fish you caught. Lol

Is that close to highway 28 by the Bourne Bridge ?
Yeah that's the Bourne Bridge
What’s the name of the place you stayed at and how much plan on going this weekend
Hey, I prefer the Quality Inn in Bourne.
What is an ideal surf rod and reel for these cap cod canal stripers.

Love your videos! Great to see you catching them stripers in CCC! Have you tried to use bucktails on the bottoms? too much sea weeds?
Thank you! I didn't have any heavy bucktails with me since traveling but no doubt they'd work.
When is this filmed? Nice video!
Thanks Steven. August 4th 2019
