    Welcome back to LC controls... I will let you all into the situation with LC controls when I came up with the concept a few years ago... the idea sort of fell flat because London ATC just got too busy on to the point that sectors were so big that I wasn't able to explain what I was doing.
    So I think we are gonna have much more luck focusing on Approach units - starting off specifically with Heathrow. Since the release of the IAEs and Fenix V2B2... Heathrow has been PACKED!
    In this 19 minute snippet of controlling you will see a jam packed London Heathrow as we vector the traffic in for arrival! - would an explanation video be something you would like to see? So we upload an episode then do another episode which explains my thinking behind things? Let me know!
    Thank you again for deciding to come back and watch the channel. As always make sure to drop a sub, like, and comment here. But, more importantly, check out my Twitch for full-time flight sim content!

    To a Chinese flight simulation enthusiast who doesn't speak English, I learned London airspace ATC English communication by watching your videos. I watched it many times and learned a lot. My English even had a strong British accent during that time, haha. Thank you very much. I also fly on European VATSIM often. I once met you flying and also met you as a controller (your speech is very fast, I still feel nervous and worried that I won't understand your commands). My callsign when I'm in the air is CCA988. I hope to meet you again in the future. Please keep posting excellent VATSIM ATC videos. Thank you.👍👍👍

      Out of interest, is your English good enough to type this comment or did you use a translation tool like Google Translate? If you wrote the comment then your English is definitely impressive! I'm a native English speaker wanting to learn other languages, I've been learning Dutch for a year and a bit but it has got to be one of the easiest languages for English speakers, the difference between English and Chinese languages like Mandarin, Cantonese, etc. is so much bigger

      @@Antikyth Hi, there. Thanks for your reply and I indeed use Google Translate always, You can't understand what I said if without translate apps I guess;) , Ok, I'll write this comment by myself (without Google Translate) and you will understand the actually English level (skill) that I have right now (and I hope you can understand what I speak here and hope it'll don't waste the time both of us also). There really a huge difference between English and Chinese languages (I mean Mandarin, the Mandarin is the main languages in China, and there is a really big difference between Mandarin & Cantonese too.) The very important point of the difference between Mandarin and English is that you can't guess the pronunciation of a Chinese word, for example: If you see the Chinese word "Book" you can't guess the pronunciation of it if I don't tell you, but I speak out "buke" out of my mouth when I see the English word "Book" at very first time in my life. So what that meaning, that meaning there are 2 system in Chinses Mandarin, one is how to write a Chinese word ( What a word is like when write down on a paper), and the other one is Pronunciation system. There only one method to combine these two system that is remember it directly using your brain one by one, word by word (So this is one of the reasons why Chinese is difficult). Meanwhile the Pronunciation system is not simple itself. So let's just forget how to write a Chinese word momently, Let's talk about Sound right now only: There are too many different pronounce in Chinese and the really important thing is that every single pronounce has 4 different tone of it, So 1 pronounce became to 4(First tone is high level tone, Second tone is rising tone, Third tone is dipping tone & Fourth tone is falling tone, just like mā má mǎ mà). And every tone of every pronounce relative to one or more Chinese word(Two systems combined at here)! For example if you make a tone like "shu" with first tone it will relate to several Chinese word like "书",“叔”,“输” ,“舒” and so on, all of these word have same tone of same pronounce, but them totally are different word: "书=Book",“叔=Uncle”,“输=Fail” ,“舒=Relax”. Yes, Chinses is difficult and complicate. You can only learning how to write Chinses word(and you can read Chinese book), also you can only learning Chinese pronunciation (and you can listen and speaking), and in the end you can know Chinese very will when you combined these two system together. Ok, before I stop writing here, I will talk about a bit of Cantonese, for me, I can not speaking Cantonese and can not understand Cantonese when I listen it. Most North people in China speak Mandarin only just like me, and for those people who living in south of China speaking Cantonese, but all of young man living in China can speak Mandarin no matter where them live.

      My English not very good, I can write and speak simply English sentences only, I can not understand English moves, English News. I can not talking complicate project topics in English. I am 55 years old and I didn't go to college, I only have a high school diploma, I am not a good student when I in school. I learning English recently years just because I want to fly on VATSIM. VATSIM English a kind of easy for me because them speaking same sentences mostly;) .

    It boggles my mind how you stay ontop of all of these flights at once, especially when we are flying in and it’s extremely busy you all do a great job. Love seeing this from your perspective.

    For most people this will make absolutely no sense and will never understand the work you have put in to get to this point. I had a S3 rating in VATCAN at CYYZ and VATUSA at KPHL.
    It really does take a great deal of time to learn not just procedures, but understand the intricacies of speed, vectoring and spacial awareness. Once you get your head around it, it is immensely fun to spend a few hours controlling. Across The Pond was the most terrifying experience my first time.
    You sir are the GOAT!!!

    Amazing, as a newish Vatsim Pilot i am finding this SO FLIPPIN helpful understanding the ATC side of this. PLEASE PLEASE do more and when you can PLEASE add instructional directions when you can. I have been on the ATC waiting list for 8 months now and hoping my application has not been lost, but i understand it will be about a year wait.

    At 5:43, you said "BAW1507 descend FL100 in the hold" and I'm quite new, I'm just wondering what "in the hold" means.

    • @MajorSkyblue
      @MajorSkyblue 24 дня назад +1

      Not sure if you found out but a hold is when you keep going around a point, usually while awaiting a clearance.
      While in a hold you can also be asked to decrease/increase your flight level.

    The realism is about 5% of how the operation actually works, I do wonder sometimes how VATSIM gets hold of certain procedures which originate from sensitive controlled documents, then I realise VATSIM management is full of bitter NATS trainee controllers who failed and never made it.

    Why do you say e.g. "turn left 210 degrees"? That imlicates that he should turn left by that many degrees, and not to heading 210. Which would be "Turn left heading 210" 🤘🏼
