10 years ago almost to the day of this comment, I was 16 years old starting college (I live in the UK). I met a girl (I'm not mentioning names) that in time would completely change my life. It's a little complicated though. From the day I first met her I could tell she was no ordinary person. She had this vibe and presence that was unlike anything I had ever known. It was an immense joy to be around her. I fell for her really fast, but I made a string of stupid mistakes and we never got together, we just remained friends. When the year finished, she left college and I haven't seen her since despite trying to reconnect with her. A few years later I began my descent into a bad depression and loneliness that lasted a few years, and it was at this time that I realised how much I had thrown away by messing things up with her. I started to remember how much better things were for me in my childhood and how being around her felt like I was returning to those days and how it felt amazing to feel like that again. She was basically the spirit of my childhood if it could take the form of a person. Ever since, I've collected stuff that she was passionate about and loved to help me retain her memory. I believe that this made a difference in me not committing suicide when I was at the worst of my depression. Knowing her and remembering her helped me to keep seeing that there are wonderful people out there somewhere. Now I have a wonderful girlfriend and my life is getting back on track and I owe a lot of this to this girl. It is one of my biggest regrets that I pushed her away. A part of me would absolutely love to see her again, but there's also a bigger part of me that thinks it would be better if I just let her get on with her life.
Is one of my biggest regrets that i pusher away Says the dude with a whole gf🤡🤡🤡 It seems she dodged a whole bullet Not the case of your new gf tho It seems that 16 was the age you picked imao🤣🤣
@@eddyalonsomoramorales6069 Just because I have a GF now doesn't mean I can't regret pushing certain people away from my past. I came to realise that if me and this girl I was talking about got together it probably wouldn't have worked out, so if I had just approached things differently then me and her could've potentially been best friends.
Every good relationship I've had has been long distance to start with. It's hard to find someone things work with andin my experience just looking nearby rarely works. Spent 12 years in an abusive relationship because I just kept trying to make it work, after that ended I found the love of my life and she lives thousands of miles away, over a year and a half and not a single issue, still very in love and one day I'll get to be with her and not have to say goodbye and the time apart would have been worth it
I finally had one of these, I was playing in a band for the first time in like 10 years, and my dad flew in from another state without me knowing, and was just standing outside my room when I woke up lmao
It was near my birthday, and I couldn't get the idea of visiting my twin sister in Florida out of my head, so my best friend and I drive roughly 1000 miles in 9 hrs to visit her. Her friend helped us time it perfectly, tho we did wait in the elevator for 30 min and the door opened and we yelled surprise, and of course she cried instantly. And we spent the next couple days at Disney for free since she worked there.🎉
i just made plans a few weeks ago to meet with a friend i hadnt seen in 8 years. we hadnt really talked much for about 7 years even though we have been friends on discord for years. we started playing games again with a mutual friend the past year. he was in my area for a wedding so i said i will come see you even if its only for 30 minutes. ended up talking for 3 hours straight. it was great to see him after all these years

I don't know why that's in my recommendations but it reminded me so much of my former best friend and I miss her so much right now. We met 10 years ago on holiday so it was always a long distant friendship but it was I think nevertheless the closest I've ever had. Our parents are still friends and I've met her parents a couple of times. I always ask her mother if she is fine. I recently saw a picture of her and I'm proud of her.
