when a horse is napping, or backing up, or showing any prep signs for rearing -- both feet out of the stirrups asap, and dismount. Difficult with that outfit on though.
And that's why you don't reach over the fence to pet horses that are not yours and are doing a job.

Poor poor lad it’s seems obvious something was wrong in the first place as he was on the side but then just reared and spooked, a freak accident at the wrong time I hope you heal quickly so sorry xx
could have been so much worse, as the horse fell over. If the majority of his weight had landed on his rider, could've killed him.
I hope the rider is well and healthy now.
I find it curious, if not also telling, that although the horses were all in Groups, this one wasn’t with other horses but off to the side being HELD BY two officers on both side of the fence Before the car went by! There was no camera flash. Three people were pulled away when the horse pulled his neck up before his feet moved. I conclude that the horse was taken out of line for some reason BEFORE anything “happened”
Smart Horse detected EVIL
Horses just like Humans .The majority will be slaves or be BRAINWASHED . Spotting a demon is a gift .Did you ever read the book 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell ? Educate your mind and free your soul. You are not focused on the royal majesty's TRICKS. GOOD LUCK!
That must've hurt like hell and I hope he is ok.
Oh dear God! That almost had me in tears.
He did not fall off. The horse fell over on top of him.
Poor Guy! Hope he is OK. A curious bunch, the British, always committed to duty, and willing to expend the body in the pursuit thereof. Hail Britannia
tom a hailstones only
I wish information would be broadcast to the crowds NOT to use flashes. Glad to learn that guardsman’s injuries were not too serious. I hope the poor horse was not forever removed from duty!
Someone was pulling on the reins of that horse through the gate! And that made it jump back..
I've taken some falls but I can't imagine doing it with plate armor on. Glad he's ok.
Ganster Liz is responsible for this SHIT
Thank you for the update. Camera flashes, fire crackers, etc. can cause a horse to freak out ( I love Royal British pageantry. I should because my great grandfather is from Bristol, UK - and I'm proud of it)!

Horse!🐎
So glad that the Rider was okay, and the HORSE Too!💋👍🏼

I pray he is well. 🙏☝️👍
Keep praying please.
It was 28 years ago, he's fine.
Oh poor horse and rider. Horse was quite startled. And was the rider ok?
The guards' horses are amazingly tolerant, but every now and then a flash from a camera sends them off. It must have been very close to his face. On a grey day, photographing a black horse, the flashes go off continuously. There are also an amazing number of idiots who think that it is OK to grab the horse by either the side of its bridle or by one of the reins. If the person here who appeared to be holding on when the horse reared, had pulled the bit into the horses mouth, then the horse is likely to react as it did.
The way the horse moonwalks out of focus...😂😂😂😂😂
It is a good thing the car saw what was about to happen and accelerated so they horse and rider wouldn't fall onto the car or through the window. . . I cant imaging playing an instrument while riding a horse....
Rider and horse both fine....the rider was Paul Bobby Salmon..
0:26 that guardsman was straight over to secure his souvenir. What a lad.
Mate, you're wrong. He was securing the sword n helmet to protect it
It is his duty to ensure the safety of the people and the injured man. He looks to be leaving his post but it was a emergency so no trouble for him.
The other guardsman who is sergeant - major according to his red salsh went over to talk to the guardsman and he sorted everything out.
The car behind was the Queen's car but it was empty so no delay there, the car was there in case something wrong with her carraige.
@@carolley9705 Yep, both the sword and helmet not belonged to cavalryman, they belonged to the army. Both guardsman and cavalryman were part of the British army. He did it for safety reason too and protect them from theft.
0:20, if you slow it down you can see someone from the crowd in a green coat reach out to grab the horse
@@DavBlc7 True in first aid training they do teach you to clear the area around the casualty from hazards, and a sword definitely counts.

Tony Totten Your completely ignorant, the Household Cavalry consists of the Mounted regiment and the armoured regiment, troops move between the two, the ceremonial duties is only part of what they do, members have lost their lives in various conflicts since they were formed, the most recent being Afghanistan where a lot of member's made the return home in a hearse, even the troops on ceremonial duties carry out other duties, you utter moron.
@@tonytotten408 do some research, they get rotated between operational and ceremonial duties. Some have paid the ultimate price. Clearly your service didn't fix your big mouth or ignorance.
The Calvary man's breastplate armour probably saved him from worse injuries or death there horses are massive.a friend of mine was in the regiment with the Busby hats but his brother Martin was in the household cavalry they were a GRT couple of lads Howard and Martin greenhough.. they'd take the Michael out of each regiment bit of banter...The replica of the orb that stood on Dresden's cathedral just beautiful what a magnificent cathedral that must of been...hope the Calvary man was ok no life changing injuries...🙏🇬🇧🇩🇪..
The young guardsman lining the road and his what looks to be CSM? both did a great job, the young chap went straight to his aid and the senior NCO was quick getting there too to look at his man and good of him to let the lad stay too, very understanding and a great leader.
Yes Euan, I first saw his pace stick, then I backed up a bit and he has his Warrant on his right sleeve. A CSM indeed.
The horse is a dissident republican
Landed on his back! It says he was seriously hurt and taken to hospital with shoulder and back injuries. It doesn't say how well he recovered - fully I hope.
Oh that was horrible to watch!! Hope he was ok, my stomach turned 💓
Good thing that both the rider & horse are okay....as an amateur rider myself, I fell & landed on my back, but thank God, nothing was broken...I can’t quite comprehend the use of flash for day time photography though...
Literally very annoying when everyone starts screaming around them -_-
Jeanette Vasko well they scared
clearly never been around horses luckily it was mainly just local Brits and German visitors in attendance. Tourists from 'certain' nations treat the royal guards as Disneyland characters and probably have deliberately tried to spook the horse laugh at the poor injured soldier.
I pray the British never give up their traditions.
And that's why they ask you not to shout, make fun etc.
Hopefully he wasn't hurt real bad. My prayers are with him. God Bless you all.
Have seen the horses in Windsor...never thought they were that bomb proof...lots of incidents over the years

He was not really thrown from the horse so much as it was the horse went over backward and landed on him. His horse was scared and was trying to get away from something.

I wonder how horses reacted on the battle field, back in the day? Hope the guard was OK - this happened almost 6 years ago!

Very few camera flashes on battlefields
It was off with his head the next day.
@@ghs7714 Erm, you did what in the ambulance? Is that what St John's teaches now?
It's a funeral procession, not a "PARADE", you'd think the news folk would get that right...
Did I see that right, was it someone in the crowd trying to pat the horse that startled it? Looks like it.
Yeah, they say it was a camera flash, but it looked to me that someone took hold of his bridle...
I don’t see any camera flash but after playing it back at a slow speed the horse’s rear seems to come before the crowd reaches for its head. Hard to say though as the footage is old and angle isn’t very good
Oh gush how is he today 🤩😘😍
all the equipment and swords he had on him he's lucky. but there's nothing in the first aid kit that could help him. just morphine

You can't touch someone's horse that is trying to serve their own country
I can’t tell if that’s a member of the public pulling on the reigns, or if that’s a policeman trying to stop the horse from running away.
Either way, quick thinking!
Poor soul. Hope he was OK. X
For the lady who said too many horses at one time: it was and always has been the people that cause accidents, the horses are used to being in large haras’, you can see the person wage a hand at the horse, most likely to pat it
it was camera flashlight who caused this
I saw similiar thing like this on Harry and Meghan wedding ceremony. Some horses somehow unusually behaved.... later found out cos of a couple of camera flashlight from crowds
Well done lads quick thinking.👍

The public should have been more thoughtful, especially around horses. God bless the soldier and thank you for the speedy assistance.
I came to this video via google who not only completely failed to answer my question, but who also showed a photo of a foot guard officer fighting to stay on his horse, and labelled it as a Cavalryman. No wonder people have no clue about the different regiments.
Have to say I was very glad to see the horse was un-injured. When horses fall, especially loaded with some human, they can be so badly hurt that they must be put down.
What about the man?
Seriously nasty comment.
That man could have died or ended up with a spine injury, concussion, life long disabilities... you care about the flipping horse. 🙄 Horse breaks a leg, you shoot it out of compassion and move on.
@@leaucamouille3394 I thought I had already responded to you. Apparently the nanny patrol didn't care for it? My comment was certainly NOT nasty.
