You can tell he cares about his job abs community. Trash truck drivers here are not required to pick up garbage that falls from an overfilled trash can more less dump it twice. Nice job. Kinda cool to see the functionality of this machine.
I drive a rear load garbage truck and got run off a local road this week and crashed my truck! Sitting at home resting up from getting bruised up real good. I was very lucky, I was trapped in the cab at first but pulled myself free by the time rescue arrived. Was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and had a CAT-scan done of my head and X-rays of my leg and everything looked good. Only missed one day of work before goibg back. Still very bruised up and hard to walk at times but I'm not giving up. The driver that run me off never turned around and came back!!! They were all the way in my lane. Been at driving garbage and recycling trucks for over 13 years now and this is my first accident and clean driving record. I very easily could have died, the truck is totaled. Wasn't our best truck but I loved it.
I just love how the truck lifts up the Garbage can, dumps the Garbage in and then uses the blade to push the garbage down and even uses the crusher to crush the garbage! 💙💙💙💙
Usually those are handicap stops , I drive a recycle truck and have them on my route which requires us to go to the garage or side door usually to get the bins to bring to the Truck and take back to the door, usually called door service cause they are disabled where walking to the end of the driveway can be a struggle or whatever the disability may be, so they put them near the house which is easier for them.

Well our garbage cans say we have a crap load of garbage every week. My wife cleaned out the fridge and pantry and there were 15 bags of garbage for me to take out when she was done. A homeless person would've loved all the food in our garbage
It amazes me how little is in some of these trash cans. I normally don't set mine out until it's full, but not overflowing. My thinking is that it's just one less can the driver has to deal with in his route, and if more people did that, he could potentially save a bunch of time on the route.
@@penguinclee89 Really is a waste of time. They could have put out 2 bins because if its 1/4 of the way full. that means 4 bins could go in to one other could still be out. And its also a waste of money.

@@robertwalton1054 I don’t know how we cause so much. 2 adults and 2 kids. And I usually run around the day before asking neighbors if I can top off there cans cause I’ll have trash 2 feet over the top of my bin.
2 things I saw that impressed me! 1) When a bag fell out of the can you got out of the truck and picked it up and then dumbed it again and 2) When you couldn't reach a can you get out of the truck and push the can in so you can reach it. Our POS lazy garbage guys will watch bags, boxes etc fall out of the can and then run them over causing a huge mess and if for any reason they cant reach a can they will just drive off leaving cans full until the next pick up a week later. O and BTW if the can lids are just a tad bit ajar they wont pick them up later. I wish our pick up guys were as considerate and professional as you are!
ikr same our garbage people once dumped our entire can with the trash in and compacted it and we ordered a new one and did it again and now we have to put our trash in someone elses trash bin it pisses me off
This had noting to do with him loving his job or that he's a professional at it. He's over doing it and or have an agreement with the company about him getting in and out when trash is dropped also getting in and out to make a cart so he can reach it and or to pick up fallen trash or one with a lid semi open where trash can fall out ans the driver has to pick it up.. he's an equipment operator and a manual trash man. So it's more of a safety issue in the end.. when you have over 1000carts and or doubles to pick up it is a lot of work in the end and dangerous for the driver to not have back up or someone to assist him.. many ways to see it and look at it..

Between the packer allowing stuff to fall behind it and the lack of a proper angle or sweeper blade to clean it, this truck looks annoying to operate. Awesome full hopper footage though
As a former "operator" I also saw the gap under the packer and wondered if they clean that out at the end of the day. I drove a commercial toploader and shoveled out from under the packer at the end of everyday. Down amongst it when you work for the City of Flagstaff.
It's not a design flaw. It's the driver and or company that makes the blade extend more into the belly or body of the hopper to pack more trash and less trips to the dump it also should have a rubber mat at the back edge of the blade to minimize trash falling behind the packer blade. If he makes sure his blade is retracted before each cart he would have less trash to clean out at the end of the day or route with packing 4more tons...

nice vid. didnt know u could turn the arm to the side to avoid tipping behind the shield. btw how often does behind the shield get cleaned?
After every day :(
@@medicalgarbage3575 wonder why it's made like that. Why isn't I'd closed or something on top of it 😅
Mate, I hate that hopper/compactor setup. What is it like on long lines of bins? Are you having to go slow or stop to allow it to clear after a couple of bins?
Really calming
Who like this guy ✋✋
Have fun getting behind the blade to clear all that trash lol
