I miss the novi and Bobby Unser.
Growing up in Indy as a kid throughout the 50''s & 60's, These guy's were my Hero's! Jones, Unser's Foyt, Ward, Clark & Andretti etc, There were no Pacers and Colts @ that time, These guys were larger than life! 1967 was my fave race! It had it all, Especially Andy's Turbine! The day after the race, Indy televises & holds a banquet dinner for the Drivers and awards them their checks! When Foyt received his 1st place Check Trophy & keys to his new Camaro pace car, He grinned smiles & said! I think I'll trade this in for a Mustang & looked down the table to P. Jones and said! You see Cheeter's never win! Priceless, As For Andy Granatelli, RIP, This man Dedicated his whole entire life for making racing a better sport! Nothing like the Glory days of Racing! Priceless,

As a lifelong Mustang fan who bought his first one, a 64.5 'A' code for $600 in 1970, I love that story. Nice one A.J.

Amazing Unser did not say Little Al once,like he did soooooo many times, A lot of people disliked the Unsers, they cheated,bought rides,and way much more,just sayin'
It was pitiful what USAC did to the turbine engined cars. Bunch of old fuddy duddies holding back progress in racing and also the world. Absolute Bull hockey!!
Were you there? Nobody and I mean NOBODY liked those 'whoosh' cars....technology not needed is a waste...just like today.
Never been a fan of Bobby... Stole a race from Andretti by cheating and he is totally annoying as hell!
