Queen Margrethe attends Princess Elisabeth's funeral

Queen Margrethe, Princess Benedikte, and Queen Anne-Marie attended the funeral of their cousin, Princess Elisabeth, at Lyngby Church.
Princess Elisabeth passed away on June 19th, 2018 after a long illness.

I may be in the US, but I absolutely love Queen Margrethe. She seems like such a lovely woman. I enjoy getting a glimpse at the royals in Denmark.

I sometimes imagine that she would have been a suitable match for the then Crown Prince of Sweden, Carl Gustaf, if the European royal families had kept up the tradition of marriages between equals. I'm sure she would have made a great queen consort of Sweden. This would make Carl Gustaf's heir and successor also descended from the kings of Denmark.

Agree. It was only because of the outdated laws of succession in the Denmark (and other Scandinavian countries as well as the UK) that he is in the position he is. Thought there would have been more progress much earlier.
