Great job. Still light, up higher for convenience and less drag. Only suggestion I could give you it to find some aluminum angle (1x1 or 1.5 x 1.5) and bolt it to the front of the skis, on top, as a stiffening device. It could replace the larger boards you had to add to the front of the skis. You have the best setup I have seen so far!
Good job. I built one recently-a little different but much the same and it works great. One thing that may help with the ski cracking issue is to try downhill skis. They are wider and may be a little sturdier. I like idea of a table.
Hey thats a great idea! Ill have to try this. My dad sent me the video! It said you were from the UP, but I didnt think youd be this close to where I live. That boat ramp looks very fermilliar. I dont fish out there much unless im going for walleye. But this year i might have to fish there because KBay isnt freezing. Hey do you think Downhill Skis would work better? Maybe ill see you out there someday.
Nice job! It’s the best homemade design I’ve seen thus far. I’ll certainly give it a try. I also REALLY like the idea of the usable table on the ice. Question: I couldn’t quite figure out how you reattach the cut off legs to the table?
Thank you! The legs for this model come extendable from the factory. Simply remove the bottom section of leg and then cut the section still attached to the table. The lower section of leg will slip back on to the shortened piece.
Love the table idea well done.
Thank you!
Hi buddy, you gave me the best idea ever. Thank you.

Thank you! I appreciate the suggestion. It's a nifty little rig, but there's always room for improvement.

Thank you! I think your right about using down hill skis. I appreciate the tip.
Pre drilling holes in the ski helps and counter sinking them keeps them from dragging.

Your table idea is brilliant. I am absolutely going to do this.
Thanks! If you build one, I'd love to see a picture.
You're a genius. I love this idea.

Great video…have not seen this idea yet out of all the Smitty sled ideas..I assume that was 1/2 inch rebar?
Thanks! It was 1/2" rebar.
One of the best build idea.
Thank you!
Great job with the sled
Thank you!
That's a pretty neat idea!
Thanks bro:)
Where did you get that table from?
Found the table at Wal-Mart.
Great!
This was a cool vid!
Also,is that the small size sled?
The sled is the standard size ice fishing toboggan from Walmart.
Thats sweet man!
Thanks!
If you find down hill ski ⛷️ you will have a better sturdyness and strength,,dang yoopers !
Yep, your right! Appreciate the tip!
@@upfishingletsgo3796 what part of the UP are you in, I'm just south of Marquette
I currently live down state. But Chassell is home to me.
Ok for fresh new ice,in the middle of whinter it’s gonna fall with all the crack and bumps on the ice, gravity center too hight
I built a “smitty” sled
Nice! I didn't know that's what those type of sleds were called.
I also built a Smitty sled that my flip shanty fits on perfect. Really saves the bottom of your shanty when pulling a long distance with snowmobile.
Nice!!!
