"Burnley, right up north" give over, Berwick on Tweed is Up North, Newcastle is the centre of the universe and lets face it Burnley is way down south ! Love the videos thanks for all your effort.
Superb! I'm not even a modern image fan, but definitely want to attend this show. I could be converted. Great to see such beautiful trackwork with engines running slooooowly in the yards!
You’ve got a great style the way you present these exhibitions, far more interesting and entertaining than the more usual method of simply filming with no narration or any interviewing. Well done on developing your own unique style, in my opinion firmly placing you in the upper echelons of the model railroad RUclips channels. That first running Class 37 on Durham Road was to die for.
Bet you asked what the minimum curve for the Dapol 66 was. You'll struggle to resist that one! Another excellent well shot video, keep them coming, cheers.
Hi Richard. Another great mod l railway show 😀 Its as close as the real thing as you can get in modelling at home at a decent size and a massive piggy bank 🙂 Think it's everyone's dream too have an O gauge model railway 🤣 I'm excited watching yours take shape 😃 Apethorn junction has been one of my favourite O gauge layouts as it reminds me of my train spotting days at Woodley junction near Hyde in greater Manchester 😆 So glad I met you at the Scottish model railway show this year. Hopefully we'll meet again when the exhibitions start again after this terrible situation we're all in at the moment 🙄 Keep safe take care thanks Stevie 😎
Great video and what a show! I love O gauge and I model in 7mm but doing narrow gauge in 0-16.5. I visited Tower Models in Blackpool the other week and it was the first time I'd really seen O gauge models. Couldn't stop grinning at the locos on sale. Some brilliant layouts on display at the show, thanks for filming them for us to see. :)
Love o gauge. It’s great to see so much more ready to run stock in the works and some of these layouts are amazing. Really enjoyed watching this. Clint at Leila Central
Another excellent video Richard, great to meet you and North and have a good blather about the modelling world and photo gadgets. Good job I left the wallet at home otherwise It could have been hammered with all those 7mm beauties 😂
Hi Richard, Nice announcement by Dapol for the O Gauge Modellers class 66’s. Lots of attention to detail in this size gauge. Some nice livery at the show. Celtic’s at then end were great to see. Nice blog to watch Richard. 👍👍Thumbs Up 👍
Hi Richard, when I saw the first opening shot I thought I was looking at a real locomotive. 0 gauge certainly gives excellent detail. Fantastic video. Congrats. Cheers Greg
So, that was a "first." I hope it was successful enough to inspire more. as stated previously, O gauge definitely inspires more detailed work and, with space enough, make for excellent layouts.
Yet another fabulous video Richard, some amazing layouts there. I wish I had the space for an O gauge layout, maybe one day who knows. Keep the brilliant videos coming!
Lol 😂 I was at Hartlepool Model railway show the other week thought I might have seen you there. I’ve got a video in the works of it though and hopefully a video for my channel as well. Saying that I’m working really hard on the track-laying as I’ve completely redesigned the layout.
Hi Richard. Just surprising to see how much is available now for 'O'. Looked like a great show, hope it was successful and returns next year. Regards Bobby 'T'.
The Y-shaped station really looked the part, looked quite "local" to the show. Looking at the quality and detail on show, I wonder if it's fair to say: IF we all had the space AND the money, there would be no OO or N scales. The difference is absolutely huge.
those are some very realistic layouts! I'm glad O scale is making quite a comeback in the UK! (We Americans never got rid of it, but they mostly run on thee rails still)
Even zoomed in where you don't get the impression so much of size, the smooth running at low speed of O gauge really sells the feeling of mass and inertia. One stutter or surge of speed from small gauges tends to remove that impression in an instant.
A great video, some favourite layouts present too. The 66 is very tempting, if out of era for me, shame that two big manufacturers were in attendance. In that regard it would have been nice to have seen just modellers/layouts or smaller traders.
Noticed you on Dave's film. I really like 0 gauge. Longer term, I am very tempted. As I get older they are easier to see :) It's either that or G gauge.
As someone who hasn't seen much 'O' gauge is it my eyes are do those move more realistically than 'OO' gauge? Stunning looking loco's and they look superb on the close up shots.
Great insight into the show. Although I do not do O scale, I will be buying a Class 66, probably, Rails exclusive. I do have some O scale wagons, from the exclusive open days which I attend.
The only problem I see with this size of loco or unit is that unless you have a huge layout, they can only run at a slow speed. They need to be able to open up a little (as you was tempted to do, but didn’t for safety sake).
New Junction don’t knock yourself, done good so far, look at the detail you keep adding bit by bit, think you be surprised if you look back from where you started 👍
Please start putting song credits either at end the video, or in the description notes right below the video. (Even if it's a freeware song.) Sometimes you pick cool, groovy background songs (like in this vid, for instance) and I'd like to know what the title and artist are. :)
@@NewJunction I could understand if it was only what runs today - like your layout. But if it includes Diesels from the late fifties onwards there seems no justification for the term 'Modern Image' or - for goodness sake - leaving out steam! Hey ho.
I gauge looks fantastic and is absolutely awesome but you need so much space. A decent looking curve is at least 2000mm radius so that means you need at least 4.5 m for the curve and scenery. I mean who has that space?
I noticed that too. You will find, in a lot of cases, it's actually the camera, showing tail lights as whites, rather than wrong lighting on the model. Perhaps Richard can confirm?
Great layout but the some of the loco running speeds are visually unrealistic. Why do some operators insist on running locos as slow as possible for such a long length of time? It looks totally unreal and inaccurate. Can also be quite boring to look at. Locos don't 'crawl' that much at all, so why have a great layout 'spoiled', by locos constantly running at a snail's pace?

It was great having a little chat with you, remember, O gauge is very addictive for some reason

I just need a bigger garage.....excellent details and I love the modern image....
Glad to see 0 gauge more, love seeing most of the 0 gauge ones, feels real special to see it when at shows
It's a great gauge and it's becoming more popular
So, that was a "first." I hope it was successful enough to inspire more. as stated previously, O gauge definitely inspires more detailed work and, with space enough, make for excellent layouts.
Thanks Anthony, the guys did a great job arranging this one!
I love the video. O gauge has something about it that other scales seem to lack, I think I’m going to have to make a small layout.
Small O gauge layouts tend to be huge haha
Great video with some great footage. Those layouts are nice looking. Your correct the details were brilliant. Thanks for sharing. Ken
Your very welcome Ken!
Very enjoyable...that Apethorne jn. is something else. Thank you.
Your welcome Tim!

'O' gauge is big and heavy
Great Show , Must Admit I Would like a Class 66 . Possibly on a Rolling Road With Sound . And another great Video
Thanks, the 66 is going to be a winner!
wow so realistic = fantastic
Maybe I'm getting old but that drumming while I'm listening to the locos is doing my 'ed in.
Different age range like different things 👍🏻
Missed this one somehow , Quality content as always Richard !

Wow, those British motors purr like a cat.
Really fascinating to see how these O gauge use a normal 3 rail track. Whereas in the us our O gauge use 3 rails.
nice meting you there

Would love to see a o gague class 142 or 158 🤩
That would be amazing!

I think it's because they're bigger and twice as heavy
Very nice. The detailing is superb. If I was to build my layout in "O" scale I would need another house with no rooms. Martin (Dhaka, Bangladesh)

Mighty sneaky there, slipping in a shot of a US layout at the very end :D

I will try! The main song in this was Musique : Rasure
Four sticks? Is Dave Martin by any chance a Led Zeppelin fan?
Beautiful just beautiful. All that must have cost a bomb
In time, skill and cash! 😅
Fantastic, love O gauge but unfortunately I have a massive water tank in my loft so I will have to stick to OO in the shes😁
Who needs water! :P
Can these 0 gauge locos be fitted with a smoke unit? The smoke does add lots of realism to the loco.
Oh yes, a lot had it actually. My visit to hornby mags workshop (last video) in the opening shot you see a OO gauge 8f with smoke.
I might be getting the DP1 for OO gauge
Oooo treat yourself
An American RS-1 diesel and an open "Gondola" How did those get there!?
Dream, this is the dream.
Stunning
Is there a buying option, if so will it be shipped to India?
Very cool! I gave the video a like! 👍
Many thanks
Hi Richard another great video mate at class 101 dmu would look great on your 0 garage layout when are you getting one 😀😀 clive
It would look great, I wish I had the skill to build the kit lol
Just like to ask.Where is this exhibition held?
Rawtenstall near Manchester.

Hi ya mate
Great video as always be good to see the tooled version of dapils class 66 and did he what the price would be.
Peter
Love the way the videos are shot.. But please lose the annoying music over the videos!
did I see correctly, £699 for one of them tharrrrr locos? FOOOOOKIN 'ELL!
Haha welcome to 'O' gauge. That said that's why the new Dapol 66 at £400 is a game changer price point.
Remenber you get eight times the volume with O Gauge so it is actually cheaper than OO.
I can actually afford the 66. And so I'm going to get one!!!
Just the one?

Superb, just one issue the DMU has whites on the back
I noticed that too. You will find, in a lot of cases, it's actually the camera, showing tail lights as whites, rather than wrong lighting on the model. Perhaps Richard can confirm?
Yes they were red but the camera shows them as white, you can also suffer from flickering lights when filming some LEDs. Keeps it interesting! 🤣
