Never mind the train, you’ve got an awesome garden. 👍
Hopfully do it justice with the railway!
New Junction I’ve no doubt 😁
Looks like ride on mower territory
I'd say the dog is better
never mind all that! awesome eyebrows! mine's all bushy and all over the place. 😭
"not made of money" *looks at garden* hmmmm
Love garden railways though I'm more a 16mm man. There's something so appealing about seeing a little live steam narrow gauge engine winding round a garden with a rake of slate wagons rattling behind
You mustn't assume anything 😅
You must be very small 🤣
Just like a true navvie, building through treacherous terrain. Awesome video!
I've got the spider bites to prove it! 😆
Very true, in my opinion that's how a garden railway should be built.
Ground force. What a tune, remember watching that when I was a kid. Decking. Water features.
A classic, it needs to come back
@@NewJunction I agree, I watched it here in the states on BBC America back in the early 2000s.
Top Ground Gear Force
@@TomsterTBurt I was about to comment that 😂
And Charlie......
I love trains & I love your dog. I enjoyed this video very much. Thanks
Evening Richard. Hope your well and safe 😃 Love the dog lol 😂 Absolutely fantastic 👍🏻 So glad that your doing this from scratch with your RUclips family 😆 I just didn't want this one to end 🤣 Can't wait for my bell 🔔 too ring for the next exciting episode 😆 Cheers Stevie 😎
Ha thanks Stevie, really pleased it's being well received
Interesting, informative, and this sort of work is actually quite relaxing. I could watch it all day.
Wish I could spend all day doing it
God its gunna look amazing, what a wonderful garden to start with, amazing as always never let down with Richard and new junction ☺
Thanks Justin, very kind!
It’s like I’m watching my dreams become a reality. You, my friend, are one righteous dude ✌🏻
All it took was a bit of timber haha glad I could help Alexander! 👍🏻
Fantastic video Richard, thanks for all your effort.
You're very welcome Sam!
Loved every second of this video ❤️
Love the post jacks! Taking copious notes for my build coming up. Can't wait for the next one!!
Awesome job Richard!! Thank you Lulu for your help :-) I'm looking forward to the next video. Cheers Onno.
Thanks as always Onno!
Timelapses instead of cuts is really good for viewing. Especially for someone like me that stumbles in here by random "you may like this" and like the concept, but jumps forward as the cutting makes that anyway. And then maybe a voice-over during those timelapses to show what's happening, like "the digging was a pain but needed and get sure no curves are less radius than xx".
I normally do that however in this instance the build didnt happen quickly enough so wasnt an option to film.
Fun to watch. Thanks dude!
That is quite amazing Richard, very well done.
Thanks Philip!
Beautifully done! Be prepared for a constant battle with the plants, animals and the influence of the weather. My layout lasted 15 years, I finally gave in being tired of getting the trains going again after winter. And those trees dripping resin or whatever it is called. I had several in my garden, it made the trains stop after short while. Even the track cleaning loco wasn't able to tackle that problem. So it takes some careful planning and there are plants and trees that definately will spoil the fun! Kind regards, Willem from Holland.
What a great idea in an amazing garden 🙂
New Junction made me want a OO gauge layout (which I now have) because everything was explained so well and suddenly didn’t seem daunting. Here we go again!
Haha Glad to hear it Tom, I've currently got all the gauges on the go for myself and the Hornby magazine channel, where does that leave you? 😅
Absolutely loved it, can't wait till next week.
Filming and editing as fast as I can
Great‼️👏👏👏
To start with your dog is the 🌟 star.
I always dreamt of a garden railway as a kid, & seeing this has made me wonder.....what if????
Really looking forward to the next instalment Richard.
Stay safe.
Cheers

Never say never! :D
This is going to be fun to watch you build this layout! Can't wait to see the next video!
Thanks for commenting Containerman, really appreciate it! I look forward to bring you all part 2 asap.
Regards
Richard
This is going look awesome I can already see many long trains on the layout!
I can't unless I make freinds with people who have them haha
Nice job can’t wait
Can't wait till it's done.
Great video! I work for PECO and production of products is back up and running, so no need to worry about not being able to get track!
Mines already on route! You should get in touch with me if you can. 👍🏻
That's a great video Richard, to me you have captured the idea of a garden railway, ie that's going around the established trees and shrubs instead of cutting them down and keeping the line straight, it's also good to build tunnels to go through high ground just like the real thing. It is certainly a railway as a part of the garden instead of just an outdoor layout, thank you for sharing this and I look forward to seeing your progress, take care, Paul.
Thanks for the comment Paul, glad you enjoyed it!
Nice theme turn brought back memories 😂 look forward to next up date
Thanks David, Glad you enjoyed it!
Great series, keep them coming!
Thanks will do
Really good video - and I love your dog!
Great video Richard & very informative. Thanks for sharing.
Your very welcome!
Interesting project,looks great
Great video Richard, thanks for sharing. I’ve heard the smart money is on you knocking gardeners world off the Friday night spot with that opening sequence! On a more serious note brilliant video, looks like a great project and interesting to see how you have to build the railway around the current landscape, just like the real thing! All the best and looking forward to your next update, Paul
Richard you have the perfect garden to build a o scale layout when do you plan to start your 00 gauge layout.
I'm currently working in all scales and a OO gauge layout now (not New New junction yet mind)
Really enjoyed and watching the progress you've made great stuff.
Thanks Giles
Love this dude ! Railway Modellings finest!

Wow your garden is amazing.😎
Perfect for a railway
Ground force : yawn
With Trains : *sign me right up*
Haha
haha very good i was laughing at the theme song off my favourite tv programme
Very well presented as always Richard. You show it as it is, which gives confidence to beginners - as you are a beginner at this gauge and outside location. Really looking forward to the progress.
Always learning, always happy to have a go!
Glad you got a four legged helper, ...I had a Westie helping me with some exterior paintwork last week she helped by laying under the ladder catching any paint that I dripped 🌈😷🇬🇧
Ha they're good at that!
Nice work! Looking quite fantastic, and the train at the end is a stunner.
Thanks Anthony, hope you're keeping well!
Great start to a garden railroad...👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Jim
Fantastic loved the ending
Ha thanks, glad someone did!
Great video Richard it is looking great can’t wait to see some trains running on it
Hi David, cant wait myself now
Ok 31 seconds in and the ground force music is ruddy amazing. The rest of this video could be black screen and I'd still like it. Perfect just perfect 😂🤣😂

So happy its finally happening. Great video. You almost had me with the tender if the A4 I kept thinking it's the br green flying scotsman with smoke deflectors

Thanks, Its appreciated!
Seeing your trick at cutting straight lines was a wow moment for me. Don't know why I've never thought of it. Great job mate.
Took me a few failed go's at not cutting a straight line free hand lol
Looks great - what an amazing amount of space! Certainly on my bucket list one day!!
You'll have to come visit when we can.
@@NewJunction See you in 2023!
It's a date!
That dog is adorable
Set my reminder CANT WAIT!. Also love (can’t remember his/ her name sorry) the pic with ur dog :)
Lulu
King Orry oh yeah thx

The O gauge stuff thats available today is fabulous, and a garden railway is the perfect way to enjoy it, except in the Autumn, as I have found out with my G Scale and 16mm railway !
You're not wrong! 👍🏻
Love the ground force theme :)
Your dog is lovely! :D
Loved the ground force intro.
The starting music is very apt. G'Day from Down Under, Victoria Australia
Thanks Bill! Pleased to have you along for the journey.
An excellent video. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. ♡ T.E.N.
Excellent video thank you, and like others I think we need more of doggo!
A lot of work and some real skill demonstrated - will watch progress with interest (and envy!), particularly when we get to the wiring. Hope you can get some more track for next time. Thanks for sharing.
Track is on its way Alex
Loved this video. I did laugh a lot.
Great to hear!
Nice way of showing how to, I'm currently building my own 0 gauge railway in the back yard, woodwork etc is coming along, just waiting for track and points to come in to stock so they can be shipped to me.
Sounds good!
Looks like a lot of work, young man. Well done.
Thanks Donald
Must admit I wasn't sure on your idea of building a garden railway to start with, but you've convinced me now this is going to be absolutely epic. I love it and its got some good length and a great a garden to run through. Keep up the good work Richard!
Sean.
Thanks Sean!
Brilliant video as ever richard. Richard Titchmarsh is that you 😉😂. Its really coming along well, look forward to seeing the finished product
Stay safe
James
Thanks James and thanks for assuming I'd be the thin good looking one! 😅
Lol 😂 at the Ground Force music at the beginning lol 😂
Awesome and inspiring video! I enjoyed seeing your beautiful Lulu's antics as much as the railway's construction....haha! :-)
ha shes a character!
@@NewJunction she sure is! I bet she'll be fascinated by the trains for a while and follow them around until she gets used to this new moving thing in her domain...haha! :-)
Nice Charles!
Had to get a Ground Force joke in there, it’s looking good.
Haha cheered me up!
Your garden is massive!!
Will take some filling with trains
That's one hell of a garden
Lots of mowing
Looking forward to a cab ride!
Nice one. Guaranteed to rain if I start anything out side !!!! be nice to see a couple of 37`s run round ..
Be nice to be able to afford them Haha
Great video Richard, I love how youve got the height round the garden. I'd make the bit where it goes really close to the soil into some kind of cutting, maybe rock moulds out of concrete type mix? and the higher bit at the end turn it into a massive girder bridge, still able to keep it with the bitchumen layer but make the outside look like an awesome bridge.
Alex
That's a very good idea Alex, I might have to explore that!
