You don't need a dual threat QB to win in the playoffs. AOC and Minshew both have the capability and offensive help around them to lead this team into the playoffs with a great defense behind them

idk about a superstar. I like the kid and he has heart, but I also want to be realistic. And yes our squad as a whole this year is better than the niners were last year. That doesn't mean we are as in sync as they were or will perform the way they did, but I think we have much more talent. They just need to develop together under the same leadership for more than a season or 2 and I think we have something special. I am excited about AP. He may not be an x's and o's kind of guy but he is a leader of men. I saw the spark last year when he took the reins. Those boys would run thru a wall for AP and I think that means more than being an offensive guru or a defensive genius. That's what coordinators are for.

This offense has weapons but the defense has proven that it can dominate looking at the last half of last season.
Rn I’m not too worried about the offense being behind. Questionable QB room, new OC, vs a defense that has elite potential playing in the same system for around 3 seasons. More continuity there so I’d expect them to be the dominant unit in practice early on.

We have the best wide receivers in Devante and Jacoby and supposedly tight ends. Zamir will be a beast. We could have Wi-Fi back there just giving them the ball and we’d be good so we’ll see if they don’t screw things up.

We can't see who is learning the playbook the best. They give us snippets not plays enough drills. We have no baseline. All we have are mechanics. Based upon that, O'Connell looks the best. Who do we have to give a barometer reading on who is doing best there? Certainly not Adams, right? Maybe it's best to compare who Getsey coached to who we have. We don't have a ridiculous talented arm like Rodgers. Let's compare our QB's to Love. Do we have anyone better than him? Love is not a good QB, he's a game manager at best. I think it's way more complex than Pierce thinks. You can learn the playbook all you want. There are other factors though. Who are the players connecting to? Jeff George had one of the best QB arms the Raiders ever day. He did not connect. The players, especially the OL has to want to die for you. They have to respect you, trust you etc. Who is that?

You spun Minshew's contract into it being too much and if he doesn't start it will make Talesco look like a dumbass. You've spun the whole qb situation as doom and gloom and pulled some tension between AP and Talesco out of thin air. I do appreciate your content but minus the extra spin.
The best thing that the Raiders picked up this year is Telesco. He really knows talent and he knows how to build a good team. I’m getting the feeling the Raiders will be better this year than I thought they would be. I don’t know about playoffs; will have to see about that, but I think they are going to surprise some people. And I think AOC is going to be a very good quarterback, especially if they put somebody in front of them at left tackle.. It bothers me that we’re not hearing anything about that.
