It’s different defensively tho it always takes time for defenses to grow and even then it doesn’t work out. In this day and age offenses hit the ground running but I saw this coming the day we hired Getsy. AP did a horrible job hiring his offensive staff and that is why will probably go 4-13 to 6-11.

Justin Fields is terrible. All he can do is stare down one receiver and then take off running or throw an INT. He can't read coverages, he can't diagnose defenses, he can't go through 2 or 3 progressions. It was reported also that he wasn't interested in getting advice from other veteran QBs. Getsy is from the Shanahan/McVay/LaFleur coaching tree. If we can run the ball well and the Oline can pass block then the offense will be fine b/c I'm confident that AOC or Minshew are both smarter than Fields. This is much ado about nothing.

Us Raider fans want to believe that Fields was the problem but nah man Getsy is a terrible coach he’s the same as Hackett ot Paul Guenther these guys cant build a offense on they own they’re only good when theirs a established offense in place with a established offensive minded HC watching over them.

If the offense isn't running the football during OTAs, the offense becomes predictable.
When everyone knows it's a pass, it's easier for CBS to jump on routes.

You have a an offense that is installing while one of the best defensive coordinators is continuing his defense. I think this is a slight reach but an interesting take, and also because I take into account what Mayer said on media day. He said this offense is simplified. We should take into account how difficult the previous offense was. I don’t think a new implemented offense is going to destroy a top 10 defense and one of the best DCs right away. We should all take a step back and breathe

Sanjit you raise a valid point. One of the criticism of Josh McDaniels offense was that it was too complicated and it hi dered the players performance. Is history repeating itself. Coaches should follow the KISS principle. That makes it easy on coaches and players. What's the point I having an offense that's very complicated and players take forever to learn. By then the coach is replaced and we start all over again. A valuable lesson for AP.

I hope and pray for the best, I just am not sold on Getsy being a bonafide OC........."Getsy, 33, spent the past four seasons (2014-17) as an offensive assistant with one of the most storied franchises in the NFL in the Green Bay Packers. He served a two-year stint as the team's offensive quality control (2014-15) before being promoted to wide receivers coach on ..."......he then went on to the Bears as an OC that had a bad output for offense.

So obviously when u have a new system that both QB's are learning not including every offensive player is learning ur gonna have growing pains the Defense which is very good is gonna make them look like there learning. I'm gonna give this offense the entire off-season to get on track. If we're in week 3 and not progressing as we should then I'll start to worry.

I have not read a single report for the starting left offensive tackle was on the field at the same time as either of these quarterbacks. That is crucially important and evaluating the entirety of the offense. I just hope that Colton Miller has the talent to justify his role as the starting OLT. If he fails, the offense will fail.
Not only isn’t a solid starting OL in place, but the entire playbook is being thrown all at once at the offense, though we are told that it will be trimmed back to successful plays before the first game.
Defense is instinctive; offense requires a considerable amount of understanding and thought and coordination. Before we jump to conclusions, let’s wait and see what we have when the first game is played.

I haven't watched the video ot read the comments yet but if they're not full of people saying things like "no kidding our offense looks bad, if it didn't, we would be in some serious hurt this year. We have a completely new offense being installed across from a 99% returning and improved defense that finished the season number 1 in the league. If this isn't a non story, I don't know what is!

I’m surprised coaches aren’t able to adjust the scheme or how it’s taught to the players. Also, these aren’t just players these are world class athletes experts in their position. It shouldn’t be that complicated. If this is true it is very concerning. KEEP IT SIMPLE GETSY!

Coordinators have to find a balance, be able to make your calls and adjustments to a point, but you have to eventually let your players do what they do best from their instincts. You cannot micromanage every situation and play like McDaniels did.

I agree totally! The OC was a bad hire! It is very easy for us armchair coaches to see when the playcalling is wrong! We could see that with Olsen, Gruden’s OC! When we start losing, I just hope AP takes the reins from Getsy, like he did from Graham,( after which the defense extremely improved) and calls a better, simplified offense!

The offense is 2 years behind this top 5 defense, this is Gram's 3rd year and Luke Getsy's 1st, that being said...AP will look at offense and will allow this QB room to grow but at the same time kill any plays that just wont work, this offense will evolve during camp.

Your soooo close to being spot on. Defense= Easily have the Coaching and Players to reach the post season. Offense= Most likely have the Players and doubtful we have the Coaching. AP will be under pressure to fix it. Tre looks like the quickest and fastest WR on our roster. Easy.

Fields may be a bust there’s a reason why he wasn’t a hot commodity. He got traded for one not a conditional 6th rd pick.

Ryan Poles is a really good GM. A reason why players love him is because he won't trade a player to a team they don't want to go to. So for example, if the Broncos wanted Fields and offered a 2nd, but Fields didn't want to go there Poles would not have traded him there.
Fields gave Poles a group of teams, and Poles made it happen:

If they are struggling early on in the season then see if we can maybe make a move to trade for one cause this defense is lock and loaded and if our QBs are holding us back then they need to be replaced asap

Justin Fields' comment sounds like JR. When your QB is making excuses to the media about his shortcomings it reflects mostly on himself and that he just can't learn. If Aiden is to be successful he will have to be able to learn and not make up excuses about how he used to do it in college.

There is no running game in OTAs defense just sits back and waits for the pass and you add a new system to the mix not to mention how good are defense was by the end of the year and how the defense has improved in the offseason. With that being said it would be more concerning if the defense wasn’t dominating.

@@SanjitT in 2022 they sucked on defense...last year they were good.
The time Getsy was there, they didn't have a 49/Chiefs type defense, in defense to the correlation of success, especially pointing out a Superbowl run by the 49ers as if the QB took them, Jimmy G.
Point is, there's always multiple intangibles to team success. Not just maybe this and that's it.
Like, D. Carr would be good enough now, with our defense playing like this.

    I COULD NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY??
We ALL heard the comments by Fields WAY BEFORE we made the decision to hire GETSY!
Yet NOBODY ( for some unknown reason to me🤷)
said ANYTHING about THAT!?.. In hindsight? (considering the FACT we could have had FIELDS for a bag of peanuts!!😖) It's looking as though the our new GM ( Tolesco) clearly had MORE faith in GETSY🫣..than he did FIELDS!!🤫 But oddly?? I don't remember TELESCO stating his reasoning on hiring him??...What was soooo special about Getsy that TELESCO went out to GET him!?🤷 idk guys.😔
