Thomas Takes Over and Makes a Pen

Thomas has taken over my workshop and my RUclips Channel! In this video he makes a pen and has a go with the lathe.
Thomas makes a Taylor Mirfield Omega rollerball pen. The wood is from Yew. He then uses Yandles Sanding Abrasive wax and Microcrystalline wax from Hampshire Sheen before putting it all together.
Please note that this video has been edited to make it appear as if Thomas is doing a lot off the lathe work on his own. At times he does but I was with him the whole time with my hand on the end of the tools and with my other next to the emergency stop button. All appropriate safety was observed.

Well done John. I personally think Thomas is exactly the right age to be introduced to wood work. This was about when my father infected me and well here I am sixty years later still at it.

@@JohnClothier Hi John, Sometimes we are just there to plant the seeds. My personal experience with wood is that I have had and participated in many hobbies over the years, but have always returned to my greatest relaxation and enjoyment of working with wood. Nothing beats the aroma of a fresh cup of coffee and sawdust in the morning when I walk in the work shop.
