Thanks so much for this! I was contemplating KTMB and Bus from Penang to KL. After seeing your video, I think Bus is a better choice given I'll be traveling with big luggages and 3 kids. This is very helpful! If your next video is about boarding the ETS.. it'd be great to link it at the end of this video! :)
Oh wow! Travelling with 3 kids! I'd suggest you take the train, there are seat the 2 seats facing 2 seats that is perfect you your trip. Just at the end of the video you will see the link of the ETS trains videos.
Good explanation .Thanks so much . the first few trains leaving from Butterworth to KL is very early and the time table of the ferry is not helping travelers on this matter ?
In the olden days , there is a Ticket booth over the Penang Side and now it is closed . Why ? Penangites and travelers has to cross over to Butterworth to buy their tickets. Just imagine whole of Penang Island has no ticket booth !😢
Great video man. One question- I’m thinking of taking the 7AM ferry to Butterworth and catch 7:50 train to Kuala Lumpur. Is it reasonable to think that I will be able to catch the train on time given that the ferry ride takes around 30 mins? Also, how punctual are the departures?
Georgetown is big, I'd suggest you use Google Map to check the distance from your venue for accurate distance :) I stayed in the hotel just across the jetty, it is more convenient for me.

I think a bit too rush even the ferry is very punctual, it will slower during heavy rain and you need about 5-10min walk from the terminal.
@@Follow_ussg thanks for the reply!
Feels like I would need to reconsider my options😅
All the best for your trip in my hometown.
Have they changed the Penang side terminal? Previously I arrived near the Victoria Tower and Fort Cornwallis.
Yeah
