I rarely comment though I always give a thumbs up. I enjoyed this video but I enjoy your personality, the education and ... I like that you talk about your wife. I wouldn't mind seeing her input occasionally even if it's a hello.
I love Making It. It blew my mind when I found out all the guys I look to for carpentry and other related trades shared a podcast! Also a side note, I can never think about sanding without thinking about R.E.M. now and I’m not complaining. Lol
This is an amazing tradition you both have. BTW, I'm going to go ahead and vote for some go kart videos...don't know about the rest of your audience but I would love to see some!
Man I wish I wasn’t asleep when this video came out. Those shavings would’ve been awesome. It’s the middle of the night where I’m from but I always look forward to watching your builds in the morning to start off my weekend right! And to top it off on the drive to wherever I’m going I listen to MAKING IT. You three guys are a huge inspiration and a great laugh too. I haven’t missed an episode :) thanks for what you do, id love to see your more sculptural pieces and the kart builds too!
I've been listening to Making it for a couple years now and I love it! You guys are all entertaining and inspiring! Also, I love the idea of making new rings every year!
pask males has this super amazing jig he made for a sander that he uses to create ridiculously thin veneers and i think it could be used amazingly on ring projects
Wow! thats a cool way to make veneer, make strips to panel a box or something etc. Cheap plywood frame, panel and trim with cool veneer. Would resin stabilized wood make for a better or worse experience getting veneer strips?
Amazing rings, love that you guys make new ones! For the VPN ad, a few streaming companies have updated their agreements to ban VPN clients, I have yet to try one but it is/was a commonly talked about work around with things like football packages for out of market games and such. So the mileage could vary with that one.
Making IT!! (i know i'm late to the party) Dave i love your stuff! its so so good, ill send you some IG DM stuff that i have built watching your channel! my first "craft faire" is a fundraiser at the Hospital where i work, I will have 5 cutting board, four bandsaw boxes, and 5 wine caddy! all emulating your work. Your channel, your work, your podcast, your joie de vivre, inspire me every day i'm on the youtubez! ty!
Quick question, are you spraying the activator for the 2P-10 as you are rolling the wood, or at the end after taping, I've never used the stuff before so any tips would be appreciated.
Congrats on another year of marriage! Love the Katz Moses stop block
*I can't believe it's been another year... I think this is the 4th year of me seeing this. Congratulations!*
Love the fact you and Kelly have new rings every year!!!!!!

Maybe next year.
Fantastic work David!
Making It with Jimmy Diresta, Bob Clagett, and David Picciuto podcast! Love hearing you three talk about the maker space

Surf-shark ad is well timed as nord broke everything, and this seems like a good alternative, thanks.
really dig the rings.
I use Nord, here I thought it was just me. Thanks for posting!
Awesome as always! I have a Kencraft nearby (awesome store) and some superglue, time to make some rings.

His is probably the only wedding anniversary we all celebrate.
Great unique build, and motivation to sharpen the hand plane! 👍
Awesome video! I've added your podcast to my list!
Right on!!
The name is making it!!
Making it!!
Using the stop for a reference was a pretty good idea. What do you do with all the old rings ?
We are eventually going to make a display.
Make Something good deal. It will be nice to look back at all the designs you made
Great job on Making It those came out fantastic
Making It has given me so much inspiration!
Making It!!!!
Watching this video, as soon as you took the plane shavings, unbidden, I uttered, "Wow, that is beautiful!"
pask males has this super amazing jig he made for a sander that he uses to create ridiculously thin veneers and i think it could be used amazingly on ring projects
I missed that one. I’ll have to go back and check that out. Thanks!!
I love the making it podcast wish you could have made it to the Louisville Maker Faire. Awesome rings
Nicely done. Do you all have a display for the retired rings?
Not yet!
I listened to Making It this morning!
They look great David, awesome job! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Making it podcast!
Any ideas to make the copper bigger without a ring spreader David?
They make smaller versions not in the press configuration that you could buy at around 20 off of amazon.
Any local jewelry shop will be able to resize it for you for a small fee. If you are a customer of their shop, they will probably do it for free.
Awesome and simple rings, nice job bro!
Awesome video Dave. How you don't have over a million subs is beyond me. Great work bud!
I love making it
Nice vídeo 😁😁😁

Awesome job. They look great 👍
Great video.. Can you use wood veneer instead?
OMG! I thought I was the only one that does that 7:23 lol!!
Amazing rings, love that you guys make new ones! Make Something is awesome
I really want to do this, but is there a way to do the sizing without the special tool??
I’m also curious.
I’m also curious.
Same here
What epoxy did you use on the inside of the rings?
Making It is what gets me through work
Making IT!! Looks rad dude! #killingit
Makingit podcast. Great video my friend!
Love this idea, I hope I can do something like this when I get married, and I live the making it podcast
Nice job. (A smaller cross-cut sled is your friend)
Have you found certain woods 'shave' into curls better than others for this? I've had limited success with cocobolo, but most of the shavings crumble.
making it!!!!
Those came out great! Come on guys. It's a handheld drill press.
😁
Quick question, are you spraying the activator for the 2P-10 as you are rolling the wood, or at the end after taping, I've never used the stuff before so any tips would be appreciated.
As I’m rolling just to speed up the curing.
Beauty video David, loved it. Happy Anniversary!🍺🍺🤙🏻
Maybe you have used it before but the brass olives found on the compression fittings for copper piping make nice rings and don’t tarnish like copper.
What can you do if you do not have a ring stretcher?
Happy Anniversary!
Another great ring project. Was wondering this since the last video but doesn't the sink react to constant contact with the copper?
