Absolutely fantastic, I like your work, your humor, change nothing
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video, so helpful!
simply beautiful work....well done.
Stumbled across this video and now I have a new favorite channel!! Yay me
Wow. I’ve been making rings for about a year now and they’re not exactly bad but I just can’t quite seem to get the finish the way I want it. After this though I’m going to try your technique. My guitar string recently snapped and I thought “dang that would be a cool ring” then I saw our video and was shocked lol. I love your videos
Amazing work, and GREAT VIDEO, I watch quite a lot of craft videos and hate seeing speed up videos with terrible loud background music. You clearly talk through and explain every thing brilliantly with a low background music which is good, thank you for a GREAT Video .
Awesome! Great video. Thank you 👍
Beautiful.
Fantastic! Beautiful pair of rings. Well done.
Nice one, thank you for checking out the video!
Thanks for sharing your know how and whot ring, keep the videos coming 👍👍👍
i love your work
Love your videos!
Beautiful dude! 😎🤙
Superb 💯💯💯
Love them.
Nice one! I saw that watch parts spinner ring you made the other day - that must have taken some patience haha. What are you working on this week?
Zebrano Wood Craft that was a absolute pain to make. As you can guess spinner rings don’t work well on a lathe. I have a couple of orders to sort out this weekend and hopefully some time to experiment. Keep up the amazing work.
Very nice!
Such a great video! Thanks man... and I have one question: where can I buy the gold inlay? Is there some online store with a good price?
Love your videos! Any tips on making sure the ca glue doesn't go white. I'm trying everything. Activator in-between coats etc... But just not getting there! Any tips or tricks would be appreciated! Sensational rings!
I've actually made a few rings similar to these based on your videos, but with copper wire inlay (and nowhere near brave enough to try gold core). My favorite tho, was a grey oak core with a fine Celtic copper braid (based on a vape coil) that I wear all the time. I love mixing and matching odd bits. Keep up the great work!
Dean Collier cool good work dude! Braided inlays are absolutely solid - I’ve tried them a handful of times and decided to steer clear haha. Do you have a shop/website where you sell them?
@@ZebranoWoodCraft I have a site on Etsy (idlehandsjewelryca), but it's just a casual hobby. I like the technical challenge.
Dean Collier yes haha it certainly can be a technical challenge! I’m slowly trying to build up to just make content and have Etsy as a hobby, however I am a long way off haha
👍
Hey man thanks for your comment on the live video u did about where I could source some of them exotic woods. Your video ended so u couldn't thank u then haha. Love your channel, find it hugely inspiring. I do it as a hobby and I really love it.
Did he say where he bought the wood?
Elmer V traded with a friend in the states.. Where are u from? I found a couple of sources for zebrano Wood.. I'm in Ireland, but found suppliers here an UK and Europe as well
beautiful rings BRO
Cheers bro! haha
Got to make one for a bassist. Not info looking for but thanks for visuals on the string. I guess I'll just have to play it by ear. 🤣
Where do you buy all your gold and silver sheets and solder from ? Great videos by the way.
You did a marvelous job on those rings. They are exquisite.
Tom P legend, thank you!
Just made my first bent wood ring with guitar string inlay. Hope to make an assortment of rings to sell at the markets. Do you have any recommendations of sizes I should make?
Where did you find the rose gold sheet metal and how much is a good price for it?
Heeeellll yeeeaaah
Good morning Zebrano, incredible work.
What is measurement of the gold plate? I hear at the beginning 0.7mm thickness but how much LxW
Greetings from Brazil.
I like it here. I think I'll stay.
I want to add an inlay to a bent wood ring I built, but don’t have any fancy tools. Is there a way you would recommend to do it
Really awesome ring. Absolutely love it. I learn so much from your videos. Do you think you will be doing more metal rings with wood inlays?
Thank you! YES! Next month I have a couple of very special projects coming up! Keep an eye on your notifications :)
Are there any kind of woods or designs you'd like to see?
Is there any kind of inlay you
Zebrano Wood Craft that’s awesome! I can’t wait. Hmm Padauk would be awesome and ebony would look sick! I absolutely love your videos. I watch them on repeat 😊 and if I get any more ideas I’ll tell you 😊👍🏻
Ebony and Padauk are some damn fine woods haha. Next month I'll be making a ring with Walnut from a WW2 rifle and sand from a Normandy beach where the troops landed.
I've also got a whiskey barrel in Damascus ring planned too.
Zebrano Wood Craft good lord that sounds amazing. Can’t wait to see the videos of those. This video has been 100% highlight of my week! Thank you. I can’t wait to get my metal lathe for Christmas so it can open new doors in the ringmaking world. Are there any new tools you are getting soon?
I tried to follow along, but when I glued the guitar string, it popped right off the next day. Maybe the glue is bad, but I used the same stuff as you, in medium. Any thoughts?
Hi .. very nice work .. can you please tell me what brand glue and activator do you use ? i have problem with finishing wood
I just use one from a local DIY store. Try Locktite, Chestnut products or Starbond Adhesives CA glue. The brand I use is Everbuildmedium viscosity superglue butmost CAs should work.
So - my man...how do I get me some of that Chestnut Burnishing Cream (I'm in Mesa Arizona). PS. Great videos; thanks for sharing.
What are the names of the tools you used and where can I find them??
Another beautiful ring! Great step by step walkthrough as always! Nice work. Is there a specific reason you apply your finish with by hand rather than using the lathe?
Thanks Mike! I apply it by hand as I personally find it easier - I'v always done it that way as I started without a lathe. I guess the habit just stuck. It's useful for applying finish on detailed areas too (like edges etc).
When I make pens I do it on the lathe :)
@@ZebranoWoodCraft I'll have to give it a try on my next wood ring.
Do it man! You can get it on a bit thicker too so you don't bust through the finish when you're polishing.
HI Zebran
Where is a good place to purchase the rose gold sheet? Should I get dead soft, half hard, or hard? Thanks Rick
Hi mate I get mine from Coolsongold.com in the U.K. Any hardness is fine as you can anneal the metal to make it soft yourself if needed.
Love your videos as ever. I took the plunge and invested in Patrick Adair's ring mandrel set for my rings. Expensive, but I can't tell you how much of a difference they've made.
Keep up the cracking work fella. 🤙
Chris JP I have them too and now all my rings spin true and I can make them lovely and thin and accurately . 👍
Awesome sauce. 👍
Where does one get the Rose Gold plate/blank/whatever you start with? The only stuff I've been able to find is rose gold plated stainless steel on Alibaba.
www.Cooksongold.com
Another question about the rose gold, what is the solder you use to make the ring?
Have you ever lived in wales? You sound proper welsh! Also awesome rings and video
Rich Yendle haha yeah man I grew up Blackwood, South Wales. I studied in Newport and lived in Cardiff for a few years. I’m based in West Sussex now though and love it here!
@@ZebranoWoodCraft hahah i thought i recognised the accent im in newport myself .... small world !!!
Nice job may I ask where you get your gold sheet from
Thank you dude! I get my gold sheet from Cooksongold.com or a jewellery suppliers local to me in Brighton. CooksonGold are awesome, highly recommend them for jewellery supplies!
Thanks mate I’m playing with resin cores at the moment with a his and hers guitar string inlay driving me nuts but nearly there I want to try my hand at making gold and silver cores next
Andrew Lyon I’m doing silver cores and it’s not hard. I find it far easier than making a completely bent wood ring. Look for Andrew Berry on RUclips. He has excellent, detailed videos of soldering and forming rings.
Is there a reason you use 9 karat instead of 18 karat rose gold? Is one or the other easier to work with? Is it solely based on price?
Hey! Yeah I use 9ct as it’s cheaper and anything over that is just too soft 🤣
Hi! Question: How much did the gold weight?
It was about 3g in the end :)
Why don't YOU teach on skillshare? Yes, I'm a member. Bluprint too.
Would work to spray acrylic on the ring instead of CA?
Maybe ? I don’t really know as I’ve never tried!
@@ZebranoWoodCraft Would you be willing to make one with acrylic, and see how it works? I think it would be an interesting project😉
Why guitar strings? What do they have that other jewellers' wire doesn't have?
Can anyone tell me where you get the veneer for the wood rings
Ebay
Where do you find the metal for the inner band?
Cooksongold.com ✅
@@ZebranoWoodCraft awesome. Thank you
Are you getting the ring hallmarked ? I’ve been toying with the idea. As some of my rings are starting to approach the weight that would need have a hallmark.
Yes I have just registered with the Assay office for hallmarking. Any item of jewellery containing more than 1g of gold needs a hallmark in the UK so these are currently in London getting lasered!
Zebrano Wood Craft I’m interested to see what the laser hallmarking looks like. Could you post a pick when you get the rings back ?
Don't you love jackwagons who upload and then never, ever read the comments? Yeah, me either.
I'm really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodglut plans.
4:41 Size 21? Who is the customer? The Incredible Hulk??
It’s a size 9.
It is a order from Goliath man...
I think pickling needs to be explained
Pickle is an acid solution that removes the oxidisation from the surface of the metal after it’s been heated. You just put it in a solution of hot water/the pickle chemical for 15-30 minutes and it cleans up the surface.
@@ZebranoWoodCraft Thank you.
Then you pop it in Baking Soda (Bicarbonate of Soda) to neutralise the acid in the pickle...
_Why_ - why in the name of all that is Holy do people watch the current shit on TV when there are videos like this?
