Things I wish I knew before going to work at Chanel as a fashion advisor:
-do what you’re told (and if you’re told to do nonsense things you just have to do that anyway). You just have to do what you’re told..
-if you think there’s a better way to do things just keep it for you.. none cares…
-if your clients love you but your colleagues don’t, you’re out!
-high chance your boss is really rude and passive aggressive but you still can’t complain …

I as a customer one thousand per cent agree on the weirdness of their ordering policy (qty’s, placement etc.). I don’t know what they’re thinking and what the logic behind it is.
And how unfair it is to discontinue a product out of the blue without giving any type of notice. Their business, let’s be honest, is based on their loyal clientele, it’s not a brand that sells stuff randomly
Love Chanel and love that the Chanel employees used to look the look. Wish they still did. If I wanted Mac I’d go to Mac. I want the Chanel experience that’s why I go there.

Were clients who purchased skincare or fragrance preferred over cosmetics? Did you have quotas for skincare vs other categories? Are there Chanel beauty VIP tiers similar to the fashion boutiques? How do clients get invited to private events? Also have you done an Chanel eye serum comparison video? Do you get trained on the ‘art of wrapping’ as they state on the website?

I really like this video. I hope you make more. As for the ordering, I completely agree I ordered some eyeshadow, simple item right? When I received it, it was not the right color and it was all dried out when I tried to return it they just sent me a new one without even asking if I wanted another one I found the customer service through email not as effective. I still love the brand though don’t get me wrong.❤❤❤
Currently work for a makeup brand, lets just call CAM, and we are opening a CHANEL counter at my location. Ive been working for CAM for awhile and was thinking of trying something new, but the hair having to be up all the time is a huge deal breaker, my hair is a huge part of me, and having to have it up all the time instead of flowing down would really zap the sense of freedom and joy my hair gives me

Definitely agree with you on distribution being an issue, here in the UK (London) at least. At the moment for example it's impossible to find the water fresh tint or the longwear concealer at any department store counters but Boots online, which is sort of like our version of Ulta and a pharmacy, always has everything. I'd much prefer to buy my Chanel items from you guys at counters but it's becoming impossible. Not sure why Chanel doesn't ensure counters and boutiques get good stock of the products first before sending only what is left to third party sellers 🤔

I almost wonder if the allocation and distribution is purposely done that way to create the perception of scarcity? Cuz theres no way they cant figure out a high traffic location needs more stock than a smaller counter!

Thank you!!! Their is a new Chanel opening from across the street from where I live. And while they don't have any client advisor positions open they have a skincare/fragrance advisor and I would love to work for Chanel!!
