This is a game I have a 100 hours in and have never figured out how to do a boss on my own. This got me motivated to defeat the wall of flesh for the first time!
@@Jojojo-pq4ot I mean, I spent a good 15 hours just trying to figure out what to do, how to craft, and building. The controls take a moment to get used to due to the size of the blocks as well. 100 hours on one world might be excessive, but using multiple worlds to find one you like or get good gear before corruption spread is totally logical I think. Plus, doing everything you can will take a long time, especially if you don't have the gear for it. Even pre hard mode, the world changes over time, and I think new players will get startled and maybe reset.
I don't know if someone has pointed this out yet but if you craft a bucket and fill it with water, you can use that and a suitable mat to craft a sink. Which acts as an infinite water source.

I would give some tips that i use in my legendary playthrough and thing i just noticed 1. Repeatable process of getting up and then dying could consume a lot of time. Pylons could help, but mostly you would place them in underground. But what you actually can do is place them on surface if you build your house in the middle of sky. Also you could 'fight' with corruption/crimson with sunflowers. I have placed like 50 of them to turn down my ocean biome to regular one. Another very important item for this world is magic conch. It gets you to surface layer in blink of eye and close to dungeon and shimmer. You can get it in chests in underground desert or fishing in desert biome 2. Layers. Lower side right above funky mushroom biome is count as surface/underground layer (also i somehow could catch there cavern fish too), and higher places count as cavern. For example if you want flinx fur you need to get higher in show biome. Also seems like every pool counts as ocean (at least in my observations) 3. Fishing in general is way to go imo. Lavacharm, magic conch, potions, ore, different good early weapons - all you could get by fishing. 4. Shimmer is amazing. Literally one of best comfy additions to the game. Little boost items, transformations for ankh shield parts and angler gear - that all make game much comfortable. (Also free higher base damage arrows too) 5. Rod of discord have increased drop rate from 0.2% to 1%. It is still low number but may consider this as an option. 6. Magiluminescence is accessory which I never heard about before playing this seed, but it makes game a little easier in early game. It provides movement boost (which adds to hermes boost) and most important (at least for me) it give you glow. I took a lot of damage by darkness :D. For craft it requires 12 crimtane/demonite bars and 5 topaz.
The light factor i didn't really see much due too the miner set. but the speed and acceleration are a lovely addition to my jump speed/movement accessories and class
I have been playing this game since launch, thousands of hours on record and even dabbled with modding back in 1.1. I am just now learning that right-click is the equip shortcut. The more you know ☄
I have a question for you have you found the aether yet it's a very hidden caveren minibiome find it around near where the end of the ocean biome if there's a dungeon go to the other side(only in a new world sadly)same with the underworld minibiome a ash wood forest also you can experiment with the new liquid called shimmer with other items you have on you but start off with some normal torches 1st before doing some other experiments also it'll turn any liquids into aetherium blocks if you obtain the shimmer bucket by crafting one but it's a spoiler kinda thing
I've got a tip or two to add. 1. Might (if you are good at converting items into ones that sell well) be faster to buy the anvil. 2. Merchant sells a sickle, if you don't have better, you might buy it. 3. Graveyard, if you've died anyway, you might make one. Summoning item AND the Grave digger shovel are both worth the trouble.
It does more damage then a copper sword and the only requirement is that you make a house out of wood and have some coins. Nither of those things require you to even enter the mushroom layer. This can be done while you still have only wood from the "safe" island. So it gives you a more powerful weapon with a faster swing speed then you'd normally have at the "wood" stage. It isn't normally worth bothering with, but if you need a small advantage and you already intend to get the shop to get the anvil, well...
heh, no problem. I love the little wrinkles in the early game that give variations like this. Sadly I can't get my head around the endgame, never won the final battles.

Also, one little trick to stop zombies from trying to knock door open at night. Simply dig a pit one block deep and two blocks wide right in front of door and place a solid block right above door (on the outside). Doing this forces the zombies to jump when they reach the edge of the pit and they will then land on the block, turn around, drop down and walk away a short distance before turning back to repeat the process.
I'm actually a fairly long term terraria player but I am still gonna watch this because I have took a few months break and I need to refresh my knowledge so I am gonna see if this helps

Thank you for this usefull guide! You literaly kill me with "...and these guys are the Goldish, you can grab them and you can turn them into soup." This fate, condamned to finish in soup. LMAO
My friend, I know you don't exactly take requests, but I think an additional guide is needed. An updated "do this stuff before hard mode" for 1.4x I know it would help me. I need to constantly check a hundred different spots, for example securing a Nazar, a bezoar locating shimmer.... what to DO at the shimmer... how needed is protecting your biomes at this point (i.e. multiple hellevator shafts to stop the spread, especially now that you can break altars with no new blocks), updated weapons and armors to grab (obsidian for example with the spinal tap is STILL a fantastic armor despite the nerf for going into hard mode, assuming you're not playing a specific class.. it pairs so well with Abigail and the (now available) pygmy necklace, and now furniture buffs are permanent (free say, houndius and Abigail upgrade)... Blood moon fishing drops, things to do right after killing the WoF etc. Your last guide on this was pre-1.4, and now with the labor of love as well,I feel like so much has changed. I'm gonna give that video a watch tonight, and I'll drop some thoughts there, but I feel it's like, EXCEPTIONALLY out of date. The importance of the pylon network, fishing for crates has changed, getting BOTH the worm scarf and the brain of confusion upon entering hard mode, heck, even farming the wall for drops, and the underworld enemies has changed pretty drastically. You're like, the go to dude for this kind of thing... your presentation is simple, easy to visualize because of the great visual slides you make, and I mean... don't take this the wrong way, but USUALLY correct. On this particular topic though, I feel like you're old guide is too out of date to be useful. All the changes to weapons availability, usefulness, "wreck the destroyer" a hundred different ways now... how to farm early stuff. I believe most of your other guides still hold up REALLY well, but the hard mode/prep/early hard mode one is so out of date. No pressure, just a suggestion. And ya know, maybe a bit of wishful thinking. 🙃 Still love your stuff. I still reference it all the time, and I love that spamming links to your guides for you 100x the subs you had when I first came across your things. Shame I got banned from the reddit forum, my account was hacked, and the mods are unreasonable. "You photoshopped that picture of the warning that your account was compromised...." Oh? AND the video of me ckickjng through to it come on dude, if I was that good, I wouldn't be banned... "No no, we're positive." Anyway, maybe a future project? Your class stuff, weapons, accessories, blah blah blah, all been updated. The one is like, the most important, and it's still 1.3x just something to think about. I'll post this on that video too, since I don't know how your comment notifications are set up.
Used to play waaay back, when you could craft mana crystals from stars, before the on screen minimap, just really so long ago that i forgot how to play the game and also am not familiar with the new updates. So a guide like this truly helped me in many ways. Thanks!
Hi, im new on the game and wanna ask something. Is there any brightness setting in the game bca it's totally pitch black in underground for me and i need to rely on torches a lot every 5-8 tiles. And for some reason i don't know, my brother's pc can see so many things inside the underground vaguely.

I havent been able to stick to a class, I planned for mage until I worked my ass off to get the celestial magnet upgrades and now the only magic weapon I can find that isn't terrible is diamond staff. which is also my weakest weapon according to DPS

I don't know if you could explain this in a video....figured I'd ask. I started playing Terraria on Switch; then bought the mobile & PC versions too.... I'd love to play w/ PC since mouse controls makes inventory management & building super easy compared to controllers......BUT..... I don't understand how to use mouse effectively for fighting & good movement (grappling, maneuvering on uneven terrain, . I flail around & never seem to get better using PC so I've stayed away from that version because of it..... practice does not make perfect in this scenario. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Is there a way you could help with strats or setups that those used to controllers can adapt to PC??? Thanks either way!

Thank you for this usefull guide! You literaly kill me with "...and these guys are the Goldish, you can grab them and you can turn them into soup." This fate, condamned to finish in soup. LMAO

i am on pc btw

My friend, I know you don't exactly take requests, but I think an additional guide is needed.
An updated "do this stuff before hard mode" for 1.4x
I know it would help me.
Still love your stuff. I still reference it all the time, and I love that spamming links to your guides for you 100x the subs you had when I first came across your things.
Shame I got banned from the reddit forum, my account was hacked, and the mods are unreasonable. "You photoshopped that picture of the warning that your account was compromised...."
Oh? AND the video of me ckickjng through to it come on dude, if I was that good, I wouldn't be banned...
"No no, we're positive."
Anyway, maybe a future project?
Your class stuff, weapons, accessories, blah blah blah, all been updated.
The one is like, the most important, and it's still 1.3x just something to think about.
I'll post this on that video too, since I don't know how your comment notifications are set up.
You forgot to mention that you need to kill ocram and use the souls of blight to make the best weapons and armor in the game.
Ocram isn't a boss any more
The slime and zombie constantly interrupting is driving me nuts.
Man I remember your first video, years ago. That waa a guide on eater of worlds. Ahh, the times!
^-^
Anyone listening to this while playing terraria?
Thank you for all the useful tips. I am completely knew at playing and was looking for a video like, really appreciate it 👍
Hammer time joke. .. I instantly subbed 😂
Used to play waaay back, when you could craft mana crystals from stars, before the on screen minimap, just really so long ago that i forgot how to play the game and also am not familiar with the new updates. So a guide like this truly helped me in many ways. Thanks!
You can still craft mana crystals from stars
Looking at this, how come it won't let me change the world size? Do I have to complete a play through to be able to?
No
Hi, im new on the game and wanna ask something.
Is there any brightness setting in the game bca it's totally pitch black in underground for me and i need to rely on torches a lot every 5-8 tiles.
And for some reason i don't know, my brother's pc can see so many things inside the underground vaguely.
Around 20:35 or so. Anyone else get mesmerized by the bounce circles that little eye mob was doing around his floating house? 😂❤
Also I know, late post, blah
Not a beginner but still watching 🐐
^-^
I havent been able to stick to a class, I planned for mage until I worked my ass off to get the celestial magnet upgrades and now the only magic weapon I can find that isn't terrible is diamond staff. which is also my weakest weapon according to DPS
:/
@@grobeman you have the best guides I've ever seen definitely my go to for anything terraria!!! I also ended up just going with summoner (whips) and the amazing new sword projectiles to help gain attack speed
I'm so glad you made this tutorial. I've looked at so many videos and they never go into detail. I've had terraria for nearly five years yet I'm now learning how to play properly
Most excellent. Thank you, friend!
The globe who taught me terarria, with his awkward giggle. Cheers to another update!
^-^
This is a very informative video. Subscribed. :) Thanks :)
The way you kept laughing had me laughing 😂 loved the video! As a new player it was incredibly helpful. Thank you!
very(!) helpful. thx a ton!
Glad to hear!
Are you able to do a guide for gold critters, even for journey mode because I'm missing a few for my all items journey character
Gold critters can be insane. The Golden Seahorse is incredibly rare. Even in perfect conditions you will likely not see a single one for hours
@@CalamitasCalliope Yeah that one is going to drive me crazy lol
Hmm, that could be quite a challenge, lol.
I'm new to the game and I'm going to tell you this might be the most detailed and useful tips I've found on YT. Thanks G.
Thanks either way!
am I the only one who just watched guide shoot slimes while this guy was talking
what mod is the map?
Thanks for the guide I really needed help
I played this once and a friend gave me max stuff, so I'm glad to actually be able to play this game.
There's corruption biomes on both sides of my world very early on and I only have tin armor, what do I do?
You can actually get the arms dealer to sell you the snow biome pylon if the nurse is with him because he loves her enough to overright the hate of the snow biome.
