Owning a quarter billion dollar penthouse means you are already on the top of any social class. Living here means you are LITERALLY on top of everyone else. Holy crap!
I find it obscene that someone would pay 250m for this and then host a charity event. Like just buy a 10m apartment and donate 240m to charity. You'll still be living in luxury.
Why, it's their money and the cost to build did go for salaries to lower income people. The building is going to need a crew to keep it up so the owners will continue to pay salaries to people.

@@ibookje Yes, just because others don’t like it. I stand out it’s silence at the top of a chaotic city that’s what you’re paying for. I noticed the windows all have handles so they open. 😮 I could not handle living that high up but it is fascinating to see that with money all things can be made possible.
I once was at a weekly work meeting and was sharing an anecdote with my boss about ironing clothes and steaming suit jackets for work, and he had no clue wtf I was talking about lol. He literally never, in his entire life, ironed any clothes... and he's nearly twice my age! It astonishing how very little practical knowledge people in higher social classes have. I don't really blame them though. The way they grew up and the social groups they hung out with, they just were never really exposed to things like: washing/ironing your own clothes, working on your car, repairing issues with your home with your own hands, cooking your own food, etc.
@@groseron I don’t blame them until they start criticizing obesity rates or the clothing of poorer people, or like that 15th century heiress who lamented that the beauty of the snow on their rooftops was wasted on the lower classes. When you’ve had everything handed to you, sometimes literally, your whole life it’s common to genuinely believe that you are just better than other people, which is, in most cases, laughable. I guarantee I could figure out the job they do, if any, every day. I guarantee I could handle their daily duties whilst I am fairly certain they couldn’t figure out how to run my dishwasher. _That’s_ how we know capitalism isn’t working (I’d argue we don’t have true capitalism bc we’ve removed all power from the market and all value from labor, but alas) when the things that pay the most aren’t actually valuable
Amazing, but just watching this video brought on a feeling somewhat akin to acrophobia (fear of heights). So, even with all the luxury, I don't think I could live there - I'd be willing to accept a free trial tho'. 😱
and I - having dinner at Windows On The World, gave me such a bad feeling I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I even asked the waiter - “So - what would happen if this place caught fire” ? He laughed - and said “Madam - that could never happen”. Hopefully it was his day off on 9/11. I can’t tell you what a good feeling it was once we got back down to planet earth.
I used to work in a skyscraper not too far from there. On a breezy day, you could feel the building swaying. It made me so anxious I could barely function. I need to be near the ground!
Pretty wild, when the only peeping tom you have to worry about, is someone looking out the airplane window😆. Best part of those views, Times Square, that would be completely stunning at night.
The Supertalls on Billionaire’s row are INCREDIBLE…..But I’d CONSTANTLY be thinking about aircraft flying into my 27 foot tall living room. …..For that money I’d INSTEAD take a “reasonable” place overlooking Central Park, a beach house in East Hampton, a Malibu beach house and a Bel-Air compound, a country house in Montecito, an Aspen ski getaway, a villa near Hotel du Cap, south of France, and a Tuscan Villa on 4-5 acres. ……….with lots of money left over for expenses, and a GV with pilot. 😎. Cheers!
As an active sleepwalker, with frequent dreams about flying, I don’t think I’d ever be comfortable living above a 2nd floor. Even the 10 foot walls on the terrace don’t give me any comfort 😂
Another apartment that feels so symbolic. Literally "above" everyone else. Not to be sour grapes but while this apartment is amazing, I feel like it'd feel so detached from the city and world...yes I want my bedroom to be quiet and not hear honking and all. But to live in the middle of Manhattan and never hear city noises in your home? Feels strange, almost alien-like lol. Also, it would be so ironic to host a charity event up there when you are literally the symbol of severe inequality, detachment from the reality of the masses, and where your house money factually could have been used for much greater good. Still, cool place 🙂
While I have some problems politically with this $250 million space, as an interior designer myself, I think it's fantastic. Alas, if we are in favor of diversity, we also have to appreciate that there is something called economic diversity. Some humans will enjoy this remarkable space. Others will cite is a shining example of economic inequality. The audacity of that staircase....I love it. I hate it.

It's sale staging furniture. It doesn't come with anything you see.
I would not want anything to do with living that high in the sky - I mean, the number of things that could go wrong are off the charts.
Imagine the fun on windy days - WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE
@@camillegirardaubin I'm the same way - I can barely watch this kind of footage.
I agree Guy, If I could afford it, I'd much prefer a cosy loft with a balcony where I could watch the wheels go by & see people enjoying central park, this penthouse feels so far removed it's devoid of humanity lol
I used to live on the 28th floor of an Eastside residential building. On windy days the floor felt like the deck of a ship on a rolling sea, and in the bathroom, you could see the water sloshing back and forth in the toilet bowl. Not exactly the cozy feeling of being home in a storm.
Was great to watch the same property on your competitors channel that uploads in 4k.
Having to haul your groceries up that many floors would be a joy
10:13 this is actually a rumour. Yes, the bedrock is deeper north of lower Manhattan, but massive construction can still easily be achieved. It's more the fact that there simply isn't enough demand to build huge buildings there
Plus some of the best neighborhoods are at that level. Why would we build over SoHo and the Villages ?
Me with fear of height phobia watching this, I felt like I was somehow falling from this penthouse lol !
Same!
Yep, me too! 😱😱
Me too when he went on the terrace I actually felt that panic feeling in my chest that you get when you almost get in a car wreck
Who, in their right mind, is cleaning those windows?
Poor Latinos.

How amazing to stand in a room and look down at the Empire State Building. Incredible.
..."they say money don't buy happiness, but it's hard not to look at this view and smile"...lol that was priceless. This video is a sales masterclass.
That was amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you for having this staged with much better furniture and accessories. The penthouse at 4:32 park Avenue still gives me nightmares haha. This was very nice. Well done!
I can't be the only one enjoying the random commentary😂
I agree. Common folk like us talking about something we will never experience is really amusing!
Actually, when I bought each of my homes, I just ignored the rep's pratlle: I just go for the facts and my 6 senses... blah blah blah
Very entertaining walk through, Ryan 😅 "who's going to see you--NASA?" 😂
Has he never seen the film Blue Thunder?😄 Plus now-a-days any drone can peek into your windows.
@@SoCalFreelance how many non-military drones can go 1400 feet up?
@@Deadeye313 1,400 feet for a drone is nothing. Look at how many people fly their drones above the clouds in RUclips videos. Look at the DJI Mavic 3 video where it flies above Mount Everest! That's 30,000 feet up!
This place is beyond incredible, it's something you'd expect to see on another world. Stunning property.
The coolest feature is the idea of being above sound. What a way to decompress after a days work. Stress induced noise is a real thing and I’d imagine any busy billionaire would welcome the respite
I am scared of heights, it made me queezy just to watch this.
the trip my brain went through when i heard the silence on that terrace

I hope whoever buys these places actually wants to live in them. Cause I would have great respect for a home like that!
And when the market crashes this will be the perfect place to jump from!
insane views, and actually tastefully done for once. assuming I could ever afford it (which i won't) I would never live in such a liability. That height is a terrifying target.
if you let fear run your life - if not amazing place
Why (assuming everyone can afford this) live in a house that's not "you". Terrible run-of-the-mill interior from those home magazines...
I just need to stay here for one night and live the experience
Perhaps the most desirable Airbnb ever? How much would people pay for that experience? $50,000 a night? I would be willing to pay $10K.

Spectacular penthouse.
I’m glad the glass is so tall on the penthouse! Makes me relax more at that height!
Wow!! I absolutely love this!! Your tour was so much fun. I love your sense of humour throughout. No curtains - whose going to see you?? NASA?? I would turn that ballroom into a gym on one side and maybe a gamesroom and lounge on the other side, just my thoughts. All in all a beautiful place and whoever buys this one is definitely going to be very fortunate to own it. Great tour, thanks for this. I am adding it to my favourites :o)
AD, I agree, first quiet penthouse in NY is a pretty significant achievement, other than that, the penthouse doesn’t quite reaches the $250 M level of real estate value, at least, in my mind.
Based on your sage advice, I'm going to offer them $215,000,000 and see if they will sell at that price!
@@Ericwvb2 Offer them 80mil and you might still get it. All these "billionaire row" towers are still more than half unsold. And prices are dropping rapidly now.
In my mind it does

Yeah I can't imagine what kind of palace you could otherwise build on a ridiculous plot of land for a quarter bill.
I am terrified of heights. As in it’s probably my biggest fear and I legitimately have nightmares of waking up alone in places like this.
Pretty darn incredible
OMG...the technical part of your job...swinging your arm around in the lounge to be confronted by the heights.....soooo brave...hope you're paid well
This is stunning, I love it. Great job Ryan
Wow - loved this tour! I wouldn’t mind an invite to that ballroom! The terrace is insane! A tiny bit of fear-of-heights kicked in when I saw him walk outside!
I really do have to ask how the architects designed such a small main kitchen? We all know it is the gathering place of everyone yet it would be crowded with a family of six. So is an outdoor hockey rink on the terrace an option? Beautiful home.
Billionaires don't cook. The commercial kitchen upstairs would be used by the private chef.
@@tbillington Sorry if my original post was confusing to you. All I said was it was a cramped space for a large family to live in. The kitchen is always a gathering place for families and parties. For a three story apartment this is a badly designed kitchen. I don't know any billionaires so I can speak to whether they cook or not.
One was a catering kitchen, the other was cook an omelet for your lover kitchen, what family gatherings are you talking about???
@@GregCurtin45 nah the kitchen is a gathering place only when you don't have a media room, family room, and grand salon
These aren’t built for real people with real lives. They’re investments for the ultra rich who maybe will visit the place
Owning a quarter billion dollar penthouse means you are already on the top of any social class. Living here means you are LITERALLY on top of everyone else. Holy crap!
Thank you for including video footage at dusk and nighttime😍😍
I just find this obscene that people have the money to buy an apartment they will probably spend little time in
I find it obscene that someone would pay 250m for this and then host a charity event. Like just buy a 10m apartment and donate 240m to charity. You'll still be living in luxury.
@@BestArtist Rich people don't give money to charities. They collect money from poor people and distribute it. It's sad...
@@BestArtist Charitable foundations are actually for income tax and capital gains reductions...? I feel like that is enough of an explanation.
I just think about how far that amount of money could go where it’s really needed.
Why, it's their money and the cost to build did go for salaries to lower income people. The building is going to need a crew to keep it up so the owners will continue to pay salaries to people.
this one is actually stunning. so many of these crazy high up penthouses are tasteless
Thanks for stopping by, AD!

I love this room!
I think it is too small for everyone to eat, but I would love it as a private room to read, workout, mediate, have introvert time
I love this video. this guy delivered so beautifully that if I had that 250 mil I would buy immediately
don't forget about the taxes
if you're that high up, do you have to change baking times and temps
Bless his heart. He's walking us through this space like someone is going to actually live here when this will undoubtedly end up being some billionaire's tax write off.
There needs to be strict laws on owning properties you don't live in. It's ridiculous how so many apartments are empty while there is a global housing crisis
@donk8105 This is why I doubt humanity will ever achieve interstellar travel.
It’s very beautiful and sophisticated, quite the combination of elegance.
really?...
@@ibookje Yes, just because others don’t like it. I stand out it’s silence at the top of a chaotic city that’s what you’re paying for. The decor is what people dislike but, they don’t understand that if you can afford a 250 million dollar penthouse then you can have the decor tailored to your liking. It’s staging decor.
I noticed the windows all have handles so they open. 😮 I could not handle living that high up but it is fascinating to see that with money all things can be made possible.
However, if you are just a visitor do not touch those windows... they are more expensive than you.

This place is unbelievably breathtaking, it is the peak of modern beauty... it's really a shame that nobody will ever live in it and enjoy it.
Nice commission for serhant if he could get that sold! But I mean talk about just over the top! Truly one of a kind.
It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if a billionaire didn’t know how their fridge works so it’s probably good to leave the manual in there haha
Yeah I'm sure THEY'LL be the one reading it.
Well, yeah. They have staff who take care of the household stuff.
These properties are for livning in, they're for investments / money laundering.
I felt that when I got to go to the top floors of the twin towers. I’d live here in a heartbeat
and I - having dinner at Windows On The World, gave me such a bad feeling I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Best part of those views, Times Square, that would be completely stunning at night.
child begs for the window seat, then says look ma, its a bird, no its a plane, no ...... its an ugly naked guy
😎. Cheers!
I bet the view is insane on a super foggy morning
Even having the chance to visit this place would be magical let alone living in it
I love that Ryan is doing this!

Billionaires aren't self conscious about those things or they wouldn't be Billionaires.

I hate it.
