I'm a tree trimmer and that sucks to lose someone that way. We call them widow makers for a reason. Thanks Eric for continuing to help this young lady. Your a good man.
As tragic as it is do die in such an accident, it can be worse. I started a different job in 1999 and a mechanic at the plant had a pine fall in his back yard and wedge in another tree. He was trying to cut it down while his family went Christmas shopping. They came home and found him collapsed in the back yard with a limb lying nearby. This was on a Friday and by Monday he was able to move his left arm and that was it. His wife had to quit work to care for him, buy a specialized van for a wheelchair, etc. Our health insurance had million dollar limit at the time and they maxed that out in a couple of years. Eric, ive been buying and fixing and selling and trading cars for many years now. And ive had my fair share of hack jobs. Ever since i found your channel a year ago, I've become very good at tracing circuits down and finding issues. Especially on GMT800 trucks. I use butt connectors and Super 33...have for years. Summit racing makes some of the best connectors ive ever found. Im not a professional when it comes to electrical, never will be. If someone has an issue with the way you fix something, they can hit the road. There is nothing wrong with the way you fix things. And ive learned so much from your videos. I can't thank you enough. And im sure that young lady's father is happy that you're fixing her truck and he's smiling down on you and her. I teared up a little bit hearing the story. Thank you for sharing. You're a wonderful person.
It took a professional to clean that mess up that quick. I moved to a rural place a while ago and there is a difference with alot of these folks: not your standard hard hearts that you find in big cities. In a way it troubles me when I see people like Eric ☹️. God is about to judge this country, and many will not understand exactly why until Christ is revealed from heaven. It is people like this man that I am troubled for... I'm afraid the masses have gone to far at this point in God's eye and this world is about to be tested.
@@major__kong I use summit racing brand connectors, they are inexpensive and they are the best that I've ever used. And I've used well over 30 different brands. I hate long connectors. I like short small ones. The summit racing ones are small and short
Eric, it is very nice of you to try to help the young lady and getting the truck fixed. I know working with old electrical things that many people have pondered through. It’s got to be a real headache but you’re the real hero in this and your friends, probably looking down on you and smiling, knowing that you’re helping his daughter. ❤
This is why I love watching your videos. It's so nice to watch a good mechanic and human being do their work. We are all truly blessed, most of us just don't see it. I appreciate the care you put in on each sides of both repairing and helping others problems. God bless you my friend.
Eric, Thank You for sharing and honoring the memory of your friend. It's a blessing that you're able to help his daughter. Remember, it's never a bad thing to shed tears for a good man (or woman), that's gone. They earned our tears by living the life they did.
You are right, life isn't fair. Fortunately, for this young lady and her family, you and Mrs. O are there for them. Graciousness, from people like you, helps keep things in balance.
Eric, I lost a good friend in a similar accident 27 years ago, young family like mine at the time , you never get over it. You are so correct about life being unfair. You are a great man and friend to be so caring and thoughtful. Keep up the good work !
My hats off to you ol son, and it sounded like you had some feelings you have been holding up inside on this one. Sometimes it's just good to get things out and to release to someone in this case your viewers who love you, your family, and your channel very much. You're a good man with great values and a value to your community.
Very moving story Eric it shows what a kind person you are. The fact that you told us that heartbreaking story shows that you can be tough and kind at the same time.
Eric..You and Mrs O are the people that make this country great. Thanks for bringing us along in your life. And thanks for letting us hang out in your shop, via RUclips of course. It’s a great place to hang out.
I definitely can sympathize with you there eric,i lost my dad from a work related accident back in 2006.he also was a heavy truck mechanic working on a pressure vessel when something went horribly wrong and it blew up with him standing right beside it,the steel straps that held the tank in place let go and hit him in the head,so i know what its like losing someone in the industry.I've been a mechanic since long before his accident and there isn't a day that goes by that i don't think about him and what can happen.
If anyone gives you any kind of grief over this video, they are a troll who lives under a bridge and steals WiFi. Great job as always and a touching story.
Made me tear up a bit too even thinking about it. Such a good thing you're doing there Eric sorting that rats nest of wiring out. Look forward to see it running again.
Feel for you Eric. I lost my 15 year old son back in 2011 in a car accident. I was working out of state at the time. It still really messes with me from time to time
At first I'm like "Hell, I'd work on the old stuff all day... what could be the problem?" Screen cuts to bastardization of wiring and my stomach dropped.
So satisfying to watch you turn this hack-job into something a professional can be proud of. That girl and her family are lucky to have you and your family as friends. 🙂
I’d love to see more videos of these older vehicles. More people are buying these because the newer ones are crap. Kudos to you guys helping the family out again.
Hard enough to work on old cars, but when you see that wiring - you're fighting blind, one handed, while someone shoots at you. You're a good man for helping out someone who's suffering.
Very sorry to hear of your friend's untimely passing. Good to see she has a backup in her life to help when needed. I do like watching repairs of older cars when someone before has tried to "repair"!
You are a great person to help this girl/family out. I can tell it’s tough to think about what happened. I’m sure her father would approve of you doing the work over anyone else.
Eric, your tears show you're human sir,I lost my mother last Tuesday and I understand the hurt, it's kinda hard to keep focused on what you're doing at times, you're a good man sir
Eric, thank you for sharing. It gives us all great hope in humanity to know that there are still good people in the world. A very tragic story but I’m sure that he is watching from above and very appreciative of the help/support for you and Mrs. O!
You are a good man Eric. I lost my youngest brother when he was 22 years old with two little girls 5 and 2. Those girls are grown with families of their own now, but those heartstrings definitely get pulled hard sometimes when tough things happen. Stepping in for someone who has lost their dad is a big deal even if it's only once in a while, especially when you know that missing dad. At least this young lady has you to be a helping hand.😉🤙
Not only are you a talented and conscientious mechanic a troubleshooter in every respect, as well a man with integrity may your rewards be a thousand fold
It's awesome that you are doing this for her and remembering him while you do it. That keeps people alive even when they aren't here. I'm glad you are the kind of person you are and I'm glad you make videos for us to enjoy!
You know as time goes on, you just show how good you are more and more. Both with vehicles at work, and people at home. We appreciate the realness your channel offers
Morning Eric, I'm glad it's not just me that blows up wiring diagrams, normally print them out on 4 sheets of A4 to make an A3 size poster. Far easier to trace wires on. Better than blowing up a screen on a lap top. Great video, more my type of work. Regards Richard 🇬🇧
If you're working off a laptop, you can get a USB-to-4K video gadget and a 4k big screen TV, both pretty cheap and very satisfactory! But sometimes paper is better and you can write on it.
Another excellent tutorial! Hopefully there will be a part 2. Your acts of kindness towards others will be rewarded one day. Thanks for the upload. P.S. Mrs. O needs a raise!
Thank you, Eric and Vanessa, for caring for this young lady (and your friend's family) like you have. You continue to demonstrate a love for others. God bless!

Mr. Eric, every time I watch one of your videos, I’m more impressed by the good people you and Mrs. O are. I’d bet you have just as many followers because of who you are than the knowledge and entertainment that you provide. God bless you both and the family you helped out. With over 40 years in the business I’ve had a couple of those customers. This proves what I’ve alway though about you was correct. You are a asset to this world and all who know you . Thanks for being the person your are.
I had a similar traumatic event like you describe. It was awful, but different in that, albeit with lasting issues, my friend is still alive, but I was there and it was partly my fault. Your story was similar enough to drag my dark memories back up. Emotional stuff.
You are a good man Eric. I have a tendency to tear up when I get into my feels. Thankfully there are some good people out there like yourself. Excellent video.
Eric, you are a hero; plain and simple!! Kind, considerate and compassionate. Bless you for being so kind and helpful. You and Mrs. O are wonderful people!!
I understand the feeling. July 2022 we were in Ohio visiting my in-laws on the farm. Having grown up on a farm in WI, I tend to help out while we visit. Well, my youngest brother-in-law was getting ready for a vacation with his family and friends; a yearly tradition. He needed new brakes and brake lines on his RV. Well, you probably know where this is going. Many farmers tend to cut corners on safety. The RV shifted and he was pinned under it while removing the old brake line. I was 8 feet away. His father-in-law was there helping to hand him tools, etc. He passed away leaving behind 2 children and a wife, mom, dad, sister, brother (and business partner), nieces and nephews. It has been hard all around. I can't even count the number of times I've wanted to quit my cushy university job and move to Ohio to help keep the farm and families moving forward. You are doing a good deed even if it doesn't fit the normal business practice. The only good to come out of my family's tragedy is I now use a jack stand properly on every job I do no matter how trivial.
Eric you are a blessing to this young lady in need and you are able to assist in the repairs needed , what a good hearted man you are and also misses O .
I understand where you're coming from. In 2008, my best friend was taken to the hospital overnight for emergency surgery - he was not expected to survive. I picked up his daughter from college at 2am and drove her 300 miles to the hospital. He recovered - with permanent deficits - and a few years later our friendship and his marriage both collapsed as a result of a series of choices he made. I haven't seen his daughter in a while, but if she ever called, I would drop what I was doing and go. Attaboy Eric - you're a good one.
Eric, You are a great human. Letting us know a part of your and the young lady's life is what makes you a very special person. Keep up being you!

If you can splurge, go to an aircraft supply, digikey, etc and get the milspec connectors. You won't be disappointed.
The value of helping a friend is immeasurable. You're a good man Eric.
This is why I love watching your videos. It's so nice to watch a good mechanic and human being do their work. We are all truly blessed, most of us just don't see it. I appreciate the care you put in on each sides of both repairing and helping others problems. God bless you my friend.
Her dad's standing by your side, and hers... Don't ever change, Mr. or Mrs. "O", this world needs more caring souls like yourselves!
There is no greater calling than the call to help someone in need. I am proud of the person you are, Vanessa too. God bless you and your family.
Eric, Thank You for sharing and honoring the memory of your friend.
It's a blessing that you're able to help his daughter.
Remember, it's never a bad thing to shed tears for a good man (or woman), that's gone.
They earned our tears by living the life they did.
You’re a great man for helping this gentleman’s daughter out. You’re definitely making him proud helping his daughter out. Keep trucking on man
Not only doing something nice for someone, you're spreading a lot of joy around the world. Thanks for making my heart happy.
I'm positive Jessie is thankful that he has a friend like you! Wonderful restoration for a deserving family.
@realliferepair9285. I like your avatar. Tell me something about your Vair.
It still really messes with me from time to time
He is not gone. He is just in a different form waiting for you when it is your time to go home.
God I hope I get in to hug him again
Sometimes friends are more like family, the work you are doing for them is totally understandable. 😊
Eric…. you are a genius
and a talented craftsman
and
yes…. Mrs O is lovely and delightful
Sorry for you loss. Lost my dad 7 years this December. Think of him often. Remember the good memories you have with your mom.
There is nothing wrong with a bit of eye 'leaking" Mr O... Your a good guy.
You know as time goes on, you just show how good you are more and more. Both with vehicles at work, and people at home. We appreciate the realness your channel offers
Eric's compassionate nature shines as always. Admirable.
I'm sorry brother. My dad was a logger for 20 years and know the risk those guys are in. You're a good man and helping her out is better than gold.
Another excellent tutorial! Hopefully there will be a part 2. Your acts of kindness towards others will be rewarded one day. Thanks for the upload. P.S. Mrs. O needs a raise!
I don't know why folks give you a hard time. You're a humble and honest mechanic and you know what the hell you're doing. Carry on.
One real mechanic to another, Eric you did a perfect repair! Anybody who says different doesn’t know what they are talking about!
Thank you, Eric and Vanessa, for caring for this young lady (and your friend's family) like you have. You continue to demonstrate a love for others. God bless!
I got the gist there SIR, you are a good man for stepping in and helping. You have my respect and admiration. 🙏👍
I remember when I was young my mother would say, if we can't always be there for you, I pray that God will provide somebody for you that can be. You are THAT person for this girl.
You are a decent human being and for that you get my respect. The world needs more like you. Keep up the good work.
Wow they say life is too short and you never know whats round the corner. I have just had my brush with fate . One heart attack and then needed a Quadruple heart bypass surgery at the age of 50. Eric O & Mrs O you are a lovely couple and friends are lucky to have you.
Hey Eric. Your a good man Brother. It's great that you still help your friend's family out. God bless you and your family for being great people. Sorry about your loss it's always hard to lose a friend.
This is small town America at its finest, friends and family helping friends and family where you really can't even tell friends from family. This is how it was it ways supposed to be.
I hope this video explodes and advances the channel because it's well deserved.
Mr. Eric, every time I watch one of your videos, I’m more impressed by the good people you and Mrs. O are. I’d bet you have just as many followers because of who you are than the knowledge and entertainment that you provide. God bless you both and the family you helped out. You touch many hearts with your work.
With over 40 years in the business I’ve had a couple of those customers. This proves what I’ve alway though about you was correct. You are a asset to this world and all who know you . Thanks for being the person your are.
Eric, you are a class act. May God bless you and your family.
Proud of you bubby… lead by example especially when things seem difficult
This is the age of vehicle I can actually work on, new stuff is to complicated for me.
It's not just a repair, it's a touching story to share. Thanks.
To open that hood and see that and still do the job I commend you. You truly are a gentleman and a scholar 👍
You're a great guy Eric O!!! The world needs more people like you and Mrs. O !!!
You’re a legend Mr O, love your videos, keep it up 😊
